What happens when you ask "Am I dreaming" while in a dream?

My first LD, last week, I saw something totally bizarre and said to myself "Holy $&%#" I'm dreaming". That's when I became lucid. No RC's though

So I said to a DC, "This is a dream!" and they replied, "Oh course it's a dream. Everything is a dream!". So, I didn't say, "I'm I dreaming?" It just happened.

I pretty much flip out every single time I go lucid. It's hilarious to remember my reaction upon waking.
