Welcome Brees!
Everyone has time where they give up for a while (heck, I took a 5 year break ) but I think you'll find coming back to it with a renewed passion really helps get you lucid! Having already had your first LD when you started will give you that head-start on what to expect, and how to beat the excitement which wakes you up
To me, it's important to always keep your dream journal as best you can - even if you write down that you don't remember anything in the morning - it's the habit of writing in the journal and continued effort that really pushes your recall to the best it can be
You say you've been doing WBTB and MILD - have you been combining these with the basics required for DILD? Reality checks are a surefire test to make sure you are dreaming, and while you can get by easily without them in my eyes they help heaps when you're beginning For me, MILD is what I'd accredit almost all of my LDs to, it's the most effective technique for me. Finding the right technique for you is what really nails things in, though you have to try them for long enough to see if they do work!
In terms of guides the Beginners Guide To Lucid Dreaming is one of the best I've seen, and has links to all sorts of tutorials for every technique covered inside of it
Good luck, and welcome to DV!
