I now recognize my dream signs and do reality checks in dreams, but now what?

So lately I've been having dreams where I recognize something out of the ordinary (flying, doing my animal movement thing from the other thread) and then do a reality check or just assume I'm dreaming.

For both of my latest moments of lucidity, it lasted a short while and then I also started to realize I was in bed, and had the feeling of wanting to move.

What can I do after achieving the original moment of realization of being in a dream to actually STAY there?

      Thanks!

Start with your focus on waking life. After you do a reality check in waking life, keep calm and look around as if it were a dream. Think to yourself what you would do.

Any questions about lucid dreaming? Drop me a PM here!

Yeah practice it in waking life too ^

Then when you're in the dream you can focus on the dream. The reason you feel like waking up or moving is because you suddenly become aware that you are actually in your bed dreaming; you're in your own mind. But just focus on the dream environment and DCs and whatever else is happening.

I'm having similar problems. The times I've successfully prolonged my stay is AS SOON as I realize I'm dreaming, I look at the floor. That has been very helpful in stabilizing me. You can also try rubbing your hands... another good way to stay in the dream.

As you are reality checking, do something to anchor yourself in the dream. Touch things, talk to people, look intently at your surroundings. You want to lock your attention on the dream.

I too realized I was dreaming today for the first time. However, I was not lucid really. I did not see myself in the dream so I didn't really walk around or anything and it lasted for like a second or so I guess.
