Good question deatheraux
@owo: Saying "more vividness" is a new one for me, i personally like focusing on things, like the creases of my hands, the texture of a wall, or veins in a leaf. dreams are basically referencing and combining memories, so Becoming aware and appreciating the tiny details while you are awake also helps a lot (especially when in a non-lucid dream where you may not get the opportunity to focus on details)
Q1. Are dreams are not as vivid as real life because the dream memory and actual memory are not completely linked, and is that also the reason why dreams that copy/replicate memories are heaps vivid...
My opinion is that "actual memory" and "dream memory" are one in the same. A way your memories have become vivid could be because they are reoccuring, and when you repeat a memory it naturally becomes stronger and sometimes clearer - which goes the same for reoccuring dreams (or nightmares) repeating, re-enforcing, adding in emotion and depth.
Q2. Dream recall=more vividness
Not necessarily. From personal experience most of my vivid dreams have been random and a lot of them were non-lucid. But if you were to improve your recall the chances of remembering a vivid one will also increase.
Sorry if that didnt make sense, not very good at explaining myself Dx
Good luck!
