      Hi!

I've known about lucid dreaming for a few years, but after becoming lucid two months ago (my dream wasn't very vivid, though), I've had a renewed interest in the subject. I just started writing in a dream journal (it was only a sentence, but it's better than if I didn't write anything) and I've been performing a reality check (holding your nose and breathing in) for the past two days.

I hope that I learn a lot more about lucid dreaming while I'm here!

      to dreamviews!

Keep up the dream journal and hopefully you will be able to write more than a sentence. My dream recall has skyrocketed since I joined in 2010. Keeping a dream journal was a big part of that.

Other ways to keep your recall up is to say mantra's and to wake up after a couple hours of bed to record your dream.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

      Hey Chrysalis, welcome to Dreamviews!

Dream journaling is a big part of lucid dreaming. It lets you recognize dream signs, recall your dreams, and get you lucid! So keep it up! It's good you are already doing reality checks. One word of advice: Don't make reality checking into a habit where you just don't think about it anymore. Every time you check reality you want to be aware of what's going on around you and really ask yourself if you are dreaming. Also when you try to breathe through your nose, believe that you can. Actually expect to be able to breathe. Otherwise, in the dream everything might seem normal.

Anyway, good luck with getting more lucids. This site is definitely the place to be if you want to learn more about them. Good luck!

      Hey there!
      Welcome to Dreamviews
The fact that you already created your own Dream Journal is great, it'll help you remember your dreams, recall them and help you become lucid!
Keep on with the reality checks and enjoy your stay at DV!
