      Did I Lucid Dream?

Ok so I was dreaming that i was walking down a street that i use to walk home every day. I then noticed that a house was there that wasnt supposed to be. I realized that I was in a dream and i had gotten excited to the point where the first thing i attempted to do was fly. On my first step, I did a regular jump but on the second I went a little higher. The third step gave the same results as the second one and i tried to jump again but i got to same exact height as the second step. When i woke up, I couldnt remember anything about my dream except for that part. I actually have 2 questions. The first is Was that a lucid dream that i couldnt control? Or was that a dream that gave me a false reality that i was in a lucid dream? Any feedback or answers will help. Thanks

If you realize your dreaming, that's a lucid dream.

Thanks for the response . The reason why I was questioning whether or not it was a lucid dream is because I couldn't fly. Does doing things in lucid dreams require practice?

No problem! I haven't had my first lucid dream but I guess they do. Some people can fly while they try it for the first time, other people will have to practise until they can.

That's the classic trifecta of first lucid dream - ralize, get excited out of your mind and for some reason, first thought is to fly

So congrats and welcome to Dreamviews!

Better dream control comes with experience, and even then you can have various degrees of control. You can learn more about controlling your dreams and how to stabilize, so they last longer. And here is how to fly Happy dreams

That is a lucid dream As long as you knew you were dreaming, it was lucid. Try to hold onto the feeling of realization from that dream. See if you can recreate it when you reality check and MILD.

It was lucid! Congrats! I had to spend over twenty LDs to get myself flying. I had to learn dream control just like any skill.
