Is there anything i am doing wrong?

Iv'e been attempting to lucid dream now for 5 days straight, practicing reality checks, keeping a dream journal etc etc... Yet i still haven't had a LD yet, iv'e been having some normal dreams but still no sign of any lucidity, is there anything im doing wrong, iv'e also tried thinking about the thing im going to dream about very hard before i fall to sleep, any tips on how to get my first lucid dream?

      Hi Fuzzy.

Worry not, you're doing fine. Just keep going.

Keep reading, learning, and practicing. Don't get so discouraged if it doesn't happen right away. Be patient.

I would be impressed if you got your first lucid dream within 5 days. It took me 2 weeks. Just hang in there and once you get your first one, it opens the door to frequent lucid dreams a week. You can try practicing ADA(All day Awareness) and the MILD(Mantra Induced Lucid Dream) method in conjunction with your reality checks and that will probably speed up the process. Hope this helped!

      Welcome to Dreamviews FuzzyPotatoes!

Don't worry about it! It can take a while for you to get your first lucid. Some people get it in a few weeks, some a month, and some even longer. Just keep learning about it as much as you can and continue with what you are doing. You will get one eventually! Best of luck! If you have any more questions, just ask!

One little advice... It took me 3 years to figure it out, but trying too hard is the biggest lucidity killer there is. So don't aim for a successful lucid dreams every night, instead aim for more general awareness of your dreams which eventually will lead to more lucid dreams of course. And also you can't do anything WRONG Just the fact that you acknowledged the possibility of awareness in dreams is already working in your favor to help you to become more aware of your dreams. Pay attention to how you feel in the dreams when your not lucid, because that is what will help you recognize dreams easier. So keep recalling dreams and the rest will come by itself = ) Good luck!

Yh on the first 2 nights i was trying too hard to get lucid, trying to get the thought in my head all the time until i would go to sleep, but recently i have layed off it a bit and just went with the flow, however i have been remembering dreams recently more than i used to so i have defiantly got better at my dream recall, and anyway my normal dreams can be good aswell so i should appreciate them also!

That's the spirit. You are doing fine don't worry. Time doesn't matter in pursuing Lucid Dream. What does matter is the passion in your heart.

I heard of both, i just find saying mantra induced a ton easier to type and understand, but technically mnemonically induced is the correct one xD

      Welcome to the forum!

It's neat to see how many forum members came out to welcome you and offer advice! It's a real sign that people pay attention to new forum members.

Lucid Dreaming can take time to cultivate. Yes, some people get it immediately while others will take more time. I have seen people post here that they had their first lD after two years of trying! It's great to see how happy they are!

In all honesty I have found, time and time again, that many people are influenced by how much dreaming material they read. Those who spend lots of time reading tutorials and practicing RCs and reading forum posts seem to have more luck with the process. I think the material influences the mind and encourages lucid dreams by suggestion. I think it works for me well enough.

I'm here to help and answer any questions you may have! Please feel free to ask/post on the forum or send any staffmember a private message by clicking on our profile name.

      Pleasant dreams!
