      Hello! :)

      Hello everyone,

I came across this forum when I was searching information about lucid dreaming. I think I’ve had some lucid dreams but I wake up very quickly. I always have the feeling that I ‘have to break free” of my dream. If I only suspect I’m in a dream, nothing happens. This has sometimes led me to believe that my dream was reality. When I’m absolutely sure and I truly believe I’m in a dream I can do more things, but still I can’t control everything.

The past few lucid dreams I had were very peculiar. It was like my dreams didn’t want me to find out I was in a dream. When I suspected something, a character told me I was being ridiculous. Also I tried to look at my phone to see the time because I know time acts weird, but my phone didn’t work so I couldn’t see the time. After I realized I was in a dream the character became hostile.

In another dream I was in a classroom with other students and the teacher was saying something exactly the same as my real teacher had done at school. Because of this I realized I was in a dream and then the rest of the class clapped their hands and congratulating me on finding out. However it was sarcastic. They were making fun of me. So I wanted them to be quiet. But I didn’t have much control. Instead of being quiet they put their index finger on their lips and said:”SSSSSSSH”. So I’m wondering why are my dreams making fun of me and why couldn’t I control them?

I’ve also noticed that I have a lot of false awakenings. One time I even had 3 in a row!

      Cool

      Welcome buddy!

This forum will help you a lot I think, because you are in the right way but have common problems, here you can find tutorials and advice about almost anything related to the topic, and people are cool too! It's an LD heaven! What you are experiencing is very common, it is doubt that can be overcame mostly in two ways.

      1. Confidence. There is one rule that never betrays you, and anyone can confirm it. When you seriously doubt your reality in a regular day's routine(and you are not on any drugs) you are ALWAYS dreaming. Because you aren't so experienced in consciously being in the dreamscape, you may have other problems, like shame. I had dreams where I was 100% sure of my lucidity, but tried not to be ashamed in front of the dream characters. You HAVE to be cool, if it's a dream, it's a dream, trust yourself and you're half way there!

      2. Reality checks. Once you are sure, there's no reason to doubt. If you aren't aware of this already, I want to introduce you to a lucid dreamer must-have, called REALITY CHECK. There are some actions called reality checks that when you do them, they seem different in dreams than they seem in reality, so you can ensure you are dreaming by performing those. There are many out there, but I'm gonna say my favourite, because it works always. It's called the nose-plug. You simply close your mouth and your nose by pressing it with the thumb and index finger, so you can't breathe at all. Then, you try to breathe. If you are awake, you can't, but, if you are dreaming, air comes right inside because you are not actually holding your nose in reality! So next time you are in a doubt, reality check once or twice and start having fun. This one is my favourite because it always works, unless you have more than 2 holes in your nose! There are others like looking at your hands to see if they look strange or trying to poke your fingers through your palm, but they don't work sometimes and the doubt remains!

I hope you read the introductory tutorials (all of them) and never quit evolving this great gift our brains offer to us.

      Have fun!

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

You can have different degree of control or none at all in a lucid dream, so don't worry, it's not you

And FAs are good, if you learn to recognize them, you can turn them into lucid. Just practice RC every time you get up from the bed. Look around and post your questions and experiences. Happy dreams

Welcome to Dream Views! This is the place to be for anyone wanting to learn how to lucid dream. There is no quick answer to your question, but the Dream guide team is here to help you navigate the forum and answer questions. We all have 3 green stars above our avatar. Click on our user name and you can then select private message if you have a question, or you can start new threads. Don't worry about starting threads that have been started before, just try it out, if it ends up in the wrong place one of us can move it for you.

One thing you can do in a post is place a link to another thread. I have done this below. You can click on the colored words to see the new thread. Start with this extra basic one, it will help you read the acronyms in other posts, Help With Acronyms For Complete Beginners

After that one the very first thing you should do is check out basic tutorials. This one covers most of the terms you will see members using in much more depth, so start here, http://www.dreamviews.com/f20/beginn...eaming-124786/

Also be sure to check out the DVA Dream Views Acadamy, click on this link to get there, DV Academy.

Matte , our Dream Guide team leader runs a general lucid dreaming class, and you can join in contests where you gain points for dreams you have. General Lucid Dreaming (Matte87)

Gab , another Dream Guide runs a class that is very valuable to beginners on MILD/DILD, which is by far the best method to start with. DILD (Hukif and gab)

Finally as far as the DVA stuff goes, there is a class on introduction to lucid dreaming. This is a great place if you are just starting out and need a little personal help. Intro Class (OpheliaBlue, RareCola, CanisLucidus, Chimpertainment, Xanous)

Now, on the lighter side, you may be excited to learn to fly! Here is a thread where people explain how they went about learning to fly, http://www.dreamviews.com/f14/can-u-...u-learn-40468/

Then just for a laugh here is a thread where people list all the things they want to do in an LD. It is mostly light hearted and supposed to be funny, http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/1000-t...-dream-104556/

Have fun and good luck with your dreaming!
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.
