DobeyThecat, I think you can turn this into a positive. First, I am in agreement with JoannaB. My theory is that your dreaming mind will make up a scenario to explain what you are feeling and it can be influenced by stress, fear or positive things to create a positive scenario. Some people tend to get scary stuff when they can't move, but everyone seems to see something different whether it is a wolf, ghost, dark figure, rapist, alien, demon, whatever your mind comes up with to explain why you can't move. One time my mind tricked me into thinking I had a dark figure over me and I just imagined it was Victoria's secret model I had seen on tv and, voila! I turned that into a positive.

The other way you can turn this into a positive is that it seems that due to you being "now scared of the whole thing" you are probably super aware of your surroundings and may be questioning whether or not you are dreaming. That is a great time to do a few different reality checks. If you are walking around your house or just laying down to bed and you feel that fear do those reality checks. Most people have trouble doing reality checks where they really question whether they are dreaming when they are actually awake...so you may have a leg up in that situation.
