Indeed. Talking to others, reading and posting is one of the best ways to set your Intent. Which is basically telling our mind, what you want it to do for you. In this case, you want a Lucid Dream.
And lol, pace yourself. I know it's all a great read. But save some new material for later, in case you need to rekindle your excitement.

DJing is one of the best tools a lucid dreamer can have. It also helps with setting your intent to have dreams, remember them, and to have lucid dreams. The more you think about your dreams, the more will your mind understand what you want. And if you throw in an appreciative thought, it will only reinforce that intent.

I have tried a few times on deeply relaxing and trying to stay aware. I can never get to the point of the hypnagogic state. I start to feel really heavy and very relaxed but I cant get past that part. I know it will take lots of practice and I intent to keep trying. I also have some fear of the sleep paralysis as well. I know its normal but, I know it can still be frightening. What is a good way to get past that fear? Any good tips to share? Any good experiences to share?
You can try a WILD. There are some basic rules to it, although most of it is all mental preparation. SP, or sleep paralysis is not part of lucid dreaming, and unless you have this disorder, you will not experience it. What you may/may not experience is hypnagogic hallucinations. It really depends on you and your mental preparation, if you will percieve them as scary or pleasant. I have never had a scary one, although when I described some of them, they did sound scary to others. As long as you know nothing bad can happen to you, it's all just hallucinations, and you allow yourself to enjoy this completely new and out of this world strange thing, you will be ok.
When people fail in WILDs, it's not because they are harder than DILDs. It's because they are not prepared. To help you with that, here is a Beginners guide to WILDing Induction Methods and Techniques
and here is a long, very detailed guide, that will explain absolutely everything in very clear language with great examples WILD
Good luck and don't hesitate to ask
