Hey Foxy. I joined dreamviews when I was 15 as a well, now I'm 20. I've been having natural lucid dreams since I was 4/5. I signed up here after I stopped having lucid dreams regularly, and this site has helped me get regular lucids back, and better than ever!
I just wrote a HUGE post full of tips and advice, and I got signed out while writing it. When I tried to post it, I had to sign back in, and when I did, it was all gone!
Here's a shorter version. Try drinking apple juice before bed, a glass or two. It helps make dreams very vivid for a lot of people including me. More vivid dreams means a higher rate of lucidity and dream recall.
Also, the dreams that you remember best are the ones that occurred soon before you woke up. I set an alarm to go off 6 or 7 hours into my sleep, because that's when dreams are occurring. This helps me recall lots of dreams, sometimes even 5 to 8 in one night.
When you wake up the night and remember a dream, or part of a dream, write it down! It doesn't need to be in detail just yet, but don't risk forgetting your dream.
Use a notepad, pen and lamp for this. Not an electronic device - the screen/monitor emits blue light waves and they can disrupt your sleep cycles and hamper your progress.
You can install blue light filters on any such device if you plan to use it before bed. While active, your screen will be tinted orange or red, minimising the harmful blue waves.
Personally I have a lot of success with DILDs, its the technique I did as a child without realising. I've had limited success with WILDs, and don't bother with them much nowadays. I'd recommend you have a look at FILD (finger induced lucid dream). It's very easy way to WILD and a lot of people swear by if and have had high success rates with it.
If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a private message. I'd love to help if I can. Good luck and welcome to Dreamviews!
