      Back at it again!

      Hi all!

I've been practicing lucid dreaming for 6 or 7 years off and on, and I've had some success (around 10-20 full-blown LDs and heaps of short (<5 sec) lucid or semi-lucid fragments). For the last 6 months though, I've been going through a bit of a dry spell.

Last week, a co-worker started a conversation about LDing (poor them) and I went on and on explaining everything I knew. After that, I started reading up again, practicing a slightly more lax version of ADA, keeping a physical DJ instead of a memo on my phone, and working out some dream goals and a lucidity plan for what to do once I get lucid. After practicing short night meditation before bed, doing WBTB+SSILD, and programming my intentions before bed, I was able to RC and successfully go lucid once yesterday morning and once this morning! I also had some cool lucid fragments and have been remembering a lot more dreams per night than normal (around 5-7 for the past couple of days).

I did have some trouble with waking up too early with WBTB (I didn't set an alarm, just thought to myself "I will wake up in 5 hours" and believed it). I ended up waking up too early both times and couldn't go back to sleep for an hour or two which was torture. Any advice for that?

All in all, I know this isn't a huge accomplishment but it just feels great to be back in the habit. I'm hoping to blow through my list of current lucid goals and attain some consistency so that I can start gaining complete control of my dreams!

Hello Zad. Looks like you're on the right path towards getting some good lucidity. No advice from me for getting back to sleep after WBTB except keep experimenting with your sleeping hours. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out the perfect sleep amount to get before WBTB-ing. Look forward to reading about you lucid experiences, if you choose to share them. See you around.

Thanks Methos! I really hope I can keep this up as I'd love to have LDing be a regular part of my life again, rather than just being an intense fascination/obsession for a few weeks and then waning as I burn out (which has happened several times already). I just started reading through LaBerge's ETWOLD for the first time. I think it might be a good idea to shy away from my "jack of all trades" approach (i.e. learn all the techniques, then throw them at the wall to see which sticks) and sit down for a longer period of time where I try to really understand one of these techniques, i.e. MILD.

For the WBTB problem, the fact that my dog sleeps next to me and his comfort level is inversely proprtional to mine probably has a lot to do with it. Next time he sticks his paws in my back while I'm actively trying to LD I think I'll just politely drop him next to my fiance.

I'm usually pretty good about keeping a DJ, mostly in keywords, but from now on I'm going to try and record all of my LDs and SLs on this site as it's just more fun to share these experiences with other people who are just as interested in the process as I am. And in the future when my consistency is up, I'd love to do some of the challenges/games to get more involved with the site.

Anyways sorry for the rambling. Cheers!
