I would keep things PG13 when posting publicly because we do have minors on the forums. Just use generic terms (and no descriptions). Feel free to ask any other questions. Happy to help.

This really only matters when you're posting in the public dream interpretation forum section. And even still, that doesn't mean you can't mention sex. It just means not going into a lot of detail about it. You can use your private dream journal if you want to be more detailed (see the dream journal button at the top blue bar). Make sure to keep your entries locked on private if you do (it restricts the viewing to only moderators and contacts/friends). Also, make sure if you do that, you don't have any contacts/friends that are minors. You can still ask for interpretations, but it will be limited to just your contact list. Hope that helps?

Welcome to Dream Views! If your goal is to get input you can use enough detail to get the point across. For instance a word like sodomize would not be going to far, but do aim for PG-13. Using more words to explain what sodomize means would probably be too far. If it is instead coming across like porn it is probably too far. We want you to be able to express adult thoughts but just be tasteful keeping in mind we are about dreams and many people of many ages and religions will read it. To be safe you should consider putting a warning at the beginning of adult content and even consider hiding the questionable stuff as a "spoiler" button.

Welcome to the forum, a fair few new people lately. I'll do my best - like I said, the dreams I sometimes have are sexual, but in a questionable way rather than a pleasurable way. The forum rules are (understandably) a bit long. I suggest you skim read the forum rules post at the very least anyway. And here's the only pertinent bit about this as far as I know: The following is a list of what will earn a user infraction points should they choose to break the rules. Note: Infraction point values are dependent upon the severity of the offense. (...) 2. Lewd Behavior Includes all text/verbal sexually explicit content. Does not apply to dream journals. So yeah, my interpretation of it would also be to keep it general/non-explanatory within forum sections apart from DJ, but I would suggest that you can also say in your post that you can describe more by PM to someone if they think it's required to help you with dream interpretation. The dreaming mind is much less judgmental since it's a different kind of thing, not to mention private by its very nature; so if it uses something gross, explicit, etc. as part of its visual language, it could still be relevant, it just depends on the person and the dream, I would say. Any sexual content I've ever posted in my DJ is always in a spoiler and in some cases if I feel that it might just be too explicit (or personal) I make the entry only visible to my contacts but I still always try to be general in the description; if one of my contacts ever has an issue with it, they can just bring it up with me and we can discuss it, I'd rather that than running the risk of offending a silent general public at large. Though in fairness, aren't they're the ones reading output from my dreaming mind out of their choice?
