More time + more motivation = More proactive habits

PS. I wouldn't let the whole idea of masturbation torture you if you do it. It's really not bad at all. What's bad is if you get so into it through constant porn stimulation that your brain begins to mimic the addiction effects that are usually induced by actual substances because it craves those dopamine surges; then there's the inevitable desensitization that comes with this. And on the other end of the spectrum, if you end up putting such a negative connotation on it, repression has its own huge slew of negative effects which can be seen all around our culture today x_x

Anyway, good luck to everyone in the challenge!

Dunno, I guess if you're not wanking over them you will feel more comfortable talking to them! lol!

It is as if girls have a sixth sense that tell them whether you're wanking or not, lol. I think they somehow see that you're more confident (and happier), but you may not notice it yourself.

      Lols? Really.

Haha. Not like it matters. Most people probably doesn't know I am doing it.

I'm not sure it did. Perhaps it has some relation to THEM wanting to approach ME more. Or perhaps it's just placebo. Don't know, nor does it really matter. What works works And it just feels good to suppress such a habit. Kind of makes you (or at least me) feel alive. Also, what I forgot to mention, is that I enjoy sports more somehow.

Well, at least that's what I feel I don't mean they seem to directly know that you're doing it, but if you're doing it, they won't be as attracted to you.

Same here, I don't really care how it works if it is just placebo, then so be it. It still rocks!!

I've started working out a lot too after this, I used to think that I didn't have time for it because of school.. which was of course entirely wrong. Now I haven't been able to do it in several days, so I'm really itching to go to the gym now!

Haha. Look at my gender... <---
That's why I'm a less likely suspect. And I believe some girls my age from my country have no idea what is that too.

But anyway I like girls too.

I don't go to the gym, but I do a few workouts myself. Pushups, situps and weightlifting. I don't do them every day though, especially not pushups. My wrists aren't very strong and I'm quite heavy (not that I'm fat, but I'm 1.92 m, so that explains it ), so pushups cause pain in the wrists. But I do feel like working out more often. I went for some jogging a few days ago, which I usually never do

That's good, keep doing that And it's a good thing that you don't do strength training every day because the muscles need at least a day to rest (depends on the intensity of course, but it's a good general rule). One day of strength and one day of cardio right after each other is ok though, that's what I've been doing. I just love that feeling you get after finishing the workout and take a shower. And when I eat an apple right after training it tastes like heaven, lol. If you want to start more serious exercise, I recommend visiting a gym in your area. You might even get to know a couple of new people there (and there's often girls there as well.. ). Try figuring out some goals for your training (become better at doing pushups?) and get help from an instructor at the gym to help you set up a training routine At first you may feel a bit tired from exercising, but when you get used to it, you really get a lot of extra energy!

You probably have tried this or know of this already, but my wrists hurt when I do pushups too, so I use weights (or you can use pushup bars) and just grab onto those so you don't have to have your hands flat on the floor.

Haven't heard of that one before. Will try it in the evening, I'll let you know how it went tomorrow But don't the weights get in the way when going back down?

They shouldn't, unless your weights are a really odd shape. Mine just allow me to go deeper, or further down.

Mine are like this: l---l I thought the weights on the side of the bar would get in the way of your arms But I'll find out soon enough

      So far, success.

Hey, I might actually be capable of this.

      Week 1: Success

Not gonna lie, yesterday was pretty tough. Fortunately, I was able to keep myself busy with some books I REALLY wanted to read. I read some material on business as well as physics, and then some fiction too. Ever since I got an ereader, reading has become less hassle and much more enjoyable. It's not the ereader itself, its more the fact that its so easy to carry around whatever books I want on a single device.

Something I have learned about that extra energy you get with this challenge is that it doesn't have to be torture. It can be redirected to socially proactive habits. I'm not saying this has to be done every single time, but it doesn't have to be removed the first second that desire sets in.

Anyway, I decided to keep these logs on a weekly basis as opposed to daily. Daily would have too many unnecessary posts and logs.

Let's see if Week 2 will go by as smoothly...

Some of the general health benefits of masturbation might include the following:
      Relaxes your muscles
      Helps you fall asleep
Promotes the release of the brain’s opioid-like neurotransmitters (endorphins), which cause feelings of physical and mental wellbeing
      Reduces stress
      Enhances self-esteem.
      Better Health Channel

Food for thought. Ncbi.nlm.nih.gov also has some interesting studies and articles regarding health in regards to masturbation.

Well guys, I think I'm going to go ahead and join Spyguy and Solarflare. It interests me as a test of self-control; I want to see what it will actually take to get myself to do this. And if it really does have any of the other supposed benefits, well then all the better. For now I'll say a modest 30 days, but if I really feel like being a pro I'll extend it to 60.

      starting tomorrow.

I read this as "push-up bras"

Copied from:How To Increase Testosterone With Exercise | LIVESTRONG.COM

      Step 5

Use cardiovascular exercise to lower your weight. If you have an excess of weight on your body, estrogen levels can become elevated. This is a female dominant hormone that can inhibit the release of testosterone. Do cardiovascular exercise like running, biking, swimming, stair stepping and rowing to burn calories and lose some weight. Aim for 45 to 60 minutes three times a week.

+Testosterone and another hormone called "growth hormone" get released when you are sleeping, so make sure to get plenty of rest every night. Aim for seven to nine hours. Getting adequate sleep can also keep you energized throughout the day.

Chaser-effect has been relentless since I stopped and I've slipped into my old habits. Not a significant drop in my mental state, but a subtle one nonetheless.

Abstaining completely is easy compared to moderation.

      Day 7: Succes!

Opposed to NiteLite, I do post every day, because I think this challenge is worth a daily bump, and because I have too much time on my hands Anyway, I am glad he and I both made it through the first week. Doing it simultaniously with someone else makes it more fun for some reason.
@SuperNova: there is no need to say you MIGHT be able to do it. You ARE able to do it. If you want it badly enough and stick with your resolution to keep your hands away from down below, it'll be fine.

As for myself: yesterday was when it started to get tough. As I said earlier, the first week is easy, then it starts to get more difficult So now the challenge is really starting. Time to prove my willpower After all, I still have 54 days to go.

You're right, they're great. But to some (including me), the potential benefits of holding back are worth more than orgasms.
