Thread: Going Somewhere or Returning? Post it Here.

I think a lot of you have by now heard of the somewhat unofficial policy we have recently adapted here at Dreamviews, regarding attention-seeking, "I'm Leaving DV Forever!" threads. In short, if you make one of these threads for no better reason than to garner attention and see how many members will tell you not to go, you will be summarily banned from the forums. The same goes for joking imitation threads, as was the fad awhile back. It may or may not be a permanent banishment, but chances are good it will be.

This brings me to the purpose of this thread.

If you are leaving DV, taking an extended absence, or heading out of town for a week and just want to let folks know, post here! This eliminates thread clutter, and keeps it all in one easily located place. Whether you're leaving DV for a week, a year, or forever (silly goose), if you want to let the rest of the members know so they don't miss you, post here.

In addition, if you are returning from a trip or extensive period of inactivity, you are more than welcome to notify the community of your return in this thread.

This does not proclude individual threads proclaiming that you're headed to Florida or Spain for a week, especially if you want to show off vacation pics when you get back. By all means, make a thread to brag about your beach vacation! But if you just want to drop us a note saying you won't be around for a bit, post it here instead of making a new thread.

A final note: Just remember: if you feel compelled to make a thread for the sole purpose of getting attention or telling people how much you hate DV and that you're out for good, we the staff will gladly make your wish come true by banning your account, and the thread will be removed on sight.

We're not trying to be tyrants here, but this kind of behavior is just not welcome.

I'm leaving for a while. The time frame could range from weeks to many months. My dear friends...I love you all, you know who you are. If I get a chance, I'll check back here from time to time though. This is my (temporary) farewell post.

I'm back guys! Thanks for all the love I am posting from a cheap-o 300 dollar laptop. 11 gigs, believe that? But at least it's mine now! (until I can get my other one fixed) whaddi miss?

Welcome back, man! Heh, I well remember the $300 laptop days, I ran one with 256Mb of RAM and a 40Gb HDD for a couple years, it was my first real computer. I put Knoppix (Linux) on it, ran like a dream until I graduated to something newer and faster that would run Windows without pitching a fit.

Hope you get your other one fixed soon, though. I'll shoot you a PM in a bit.

-sigh- tell me about it. This one makes noise while it's on. But I guess I'm grateful...it was annoying being away from here for two whole weeks!!! I really have to get my other one fixed though...I had so much good porn files saved on my computer that I miss.

I became obsessed with this forum just about a month ago and now i realize that the reason I can't have LDs, is because I am too excited about having them so therefor i cant concentrate enough. That is mostly because i read alot of the cool threads on things to do in lucids and get excited and cant fall asleep at night, So what im doing is taking a small break from Dream Views. I also think that this is some other of you guys who have trouble with lucid dreaming and falling asleep problems.

a very unimportant announcement:

with my insane schedule, i find it difficult to study lucid dreaming and understand it and try to learn how to do it. so i think i am going to take a break until summer rolls around and i can actually get some sleep. i will continue to keep a dream journal but i certainly wont be on this site much. thanks for eveyones help, see you in june.

Hey everyone,

I'm spending today packing, and then tomorrow morning I'm driving to my new home in Colorado and soon thereafter will be beginning graduate school. As much as I'd like to stay on the staff here at DV, I'm afraid that's just not going to be feasible as my education continues to demand more of my time. I'm resigning as admin and I don't expect that I'll be around the boards very often from now on. I'm simply not going to have the free time that I once did.

So drink if you got 'em! It's been a long, strange trip, but I hope you can look back on my time on the staff and the boards in general and think, "Well.... it could have been worse."
