      Question Feeling a vibrator

I've been interested in the "vibrating watch" form of EILD, but I didn't like the restrictions I'd have with an off-the-shelf vibrating watch, so I build one of my own. During the day, it vibrates at full power for half a second every 10 minutes, reminding me to perform a reality check. During the night, it waits for H hours, then starts vibrating every M minutes for S seconds at P power, where H, M, S, and P are values I'm still playing with (currently 2.5, 8, 5, and 100%).

The first night I wore it, I actually dreamed I was wearing it; unfortunately, in my dream, I'd simply forgotten to take it off that morning, and ignored it. I haven't dreamed of it since then. I haven't dreamed of the vibrator, or of vibrations, or of vibrating things. I've played with different timings (a frequency of anywhere from 5 - 15 minutes), different durations (anywhere from 1 second up to 15 seconds), different power levels (50% up to 100%) - I get nothing.

For a while, I had an alarm function built in, too - after 7 hours and 20 minutes (about my normal sleep length, and hopefully the perfect length for remembering that last dream), it would start pulsing full power to wake me up gently. My clock source was inaccurate, so it went off way too early, and I had to ditch the idea; but the wakeup function worked perfectly, so I know I can feel the vibrator, even during sleep.

So, what's going on here? Do I need to try to find a stronger vibrator? Am I looking for the wrong thing in my dreams? Can I train my mind to perform a reality check when my body feels the vibrations, even if I'm not consciously aware of them ("I have no idea why, but I have this sudden urge to RC")?

I've tried to find out more about feeling vibrations in dreams; unfortunately, any search of these forums for anything about vibrations, vibrating, etc, always comes up with questions about SP. I've only been able to find a couple of other posts about physical vibrators, and they sounded very promising, but they were really old and didn't have many details.

So... you made a watch? Like from scratch? That's pretty neat... You should make an instructable on this to help out everyone interested

It's nowhere near my best work, and the code really needs a full rewrite; but I've got my code and schematics on Github at https://github.com/Nazrax/Dream-Vibrator.
