      Exclamation Sleep Aids- Melatonin

First off, sleep aids ARE NOT to be used on a regular basis. They can easily become addicting and cause future problems. Take them only if you need them.

So, I take Melatonin occasionally and want to mention some side effects and how often it should be taken...

Melatonin is an all-natural sleep-aid and should be used only if you cant sleep for whatever reason. It has a major side effect of having bizarre dreams. Some effects that you might enjoy from Melatonin is better, longer sleep, a deeper sleep, better and quicker chance to reach REM stage, and finally lets you have fuller, more complete dreams, as well as easier to remember.

I hope this has helped out any in your future dreaming. So, good night, and Dream sweetly.

      Edit: thanks for relocating post
*constant use of Melatonin will lose its desired effects
*Multiple sleep aids at once will cause halicinations and bizarre visions
*leave a comment if I've missed any details

I've never used sleeping aids, but I'm currently looking into it.

Melatonin is not addictive. You are in luck.

Just checked to make sure it crosses the blood-brain barrier. It does, so you should be good. My personal experience with melatonin is that it doesn't really work, and it doesn't matter how many pills you take, unless you're taking it because you're trying to sleep in a high-light environment. Like Alaska.

Melatonin doesn't make you fall asleep, it just makes you kind of sleepy and makes it much easier to drift off when you're trying to sleep.

Any sleep-aid (including Melatonin) can be habit-forming and addictive. After continued use, your body starts depending on it for sleeping and falling asleep. Yes, it's purposely mild dosage for this reason. DO NOT take more than one, thats all you need. I'm breaking the habit of continued use atm. Any question? PM me.

EDIT: ALSO, if your looking for a stronger sleep aid, look into illegal drugs, because the WHOLE WORLD seems to thrive on illegal drugs

Yeah, I see. Mine are 1 dissolvable 30 mins before bed. So I'm gonna edit the post and change it to "Only take the reccommended dose on the bottle. I forgot to realize there are different brands and amounts per tablet. Thank you for pointing that out.

Ran out of time to edit post, so here's the edit:

Edit 2:thanks for pointing this out, my mistake.
*Read each label on your preferred bottle of melatonin: some say 'take 2-3', others say '3-5',
and others(like mine) say 'take just one tablet', So pay close attention and follow these instructions on the bottle. As this is how many I urge you to take, no more than the recommended amount.

My results were not the same as yours, actually they were the opposite. I took it one day when I shouldn't because I was able to sleep normal. My dose was a 3mg pill which made me the following effects:
      * 45 minutes after I took the pill my energy ran out, I felt zombie so I had to go to bed.
      * My alarm rang at 2 am for a WBTB, but I thought it was already time to get up because I was like new.
      * I normally wake up (very tired) at 7 am, but that night it was 6 am and I couldn't sleep any longer, I had to wake up. It wasn't a good sleep because later I felt very tired.
      * I had no recall at all of any dreams, not even when I woke up at 2 am. That was really weird because everynight I was able to recall 3 dreams at least, but not that night.

So for me it worsened my recall, interrumpted my sleep, and during the day I felt weird...
