      Lucid Dreaming Alarm Clock

First post so bare with me...
Just a random idea, why hasn't there been a clock invented purely for lucid dreaming?

That has multiple alarms on it, voice recording (For both a Dream Journal and to "chant" at you at night I guess), Interval alarms, ect.

It just seems that it'd be at least a minor success, wouldn't be that hard, and should be that expensive (maybe?).

Any thoughts, is there already one, stupid idea?

      Hey man
It's not a bad idea, but if you look at it from a business prospective I don't think it would really work out,
If you have the electronic skills to make this then I would love to buy a prototype, but it's not really something a mass market would buy. There are already lucid dreaming aids that honestly were over hyped like Remee, they didn't even do any testing and everyone knows that's the first rule to making a product. They received over $500,000 in funding and it doesn't even work for 75% of the users. Don't get me wrong though its a great idea, it's like having multiple lucid dreaming aids combined in to one. You got there first though with the idea. The closest thing to this is a voice recorder and a MP3 although I personally think combining things is a great idea, if you do decide to make this I would buy one

From a programming perspective, it certainly would not be all that difficult, and I suppose the right platforms to program it on would be mobil phone operating systems (e.g. Android, iPhone). Theoretically, I could write a program like that for an ordinary computer operating system, but realistically I have no knowledge of the phone operating systems, so I won't be writing it any time soon.

But there must be other computer programming savvy people out there, amongst lucid dreaming practitioners ...

I know there are some apps for iPhone that do this. For example, Dream:ON and DreamZ are two that I know of. They're supposed to be able to sense your movement while you're sleeping and use that to judge when you're in the dream stage and use sounds to help you remember dreams and/or lucid dream. I don't know how well they work because I haven't tried them yet, but it seems like an interesting idea.

Hello, I already created an android application but it's rather a meditation timer. However, it also has inbuilt so called "Fall Asleep" mode which i think i can rebuild into a Lucid Dreamer helper with options we would like to have in. Maybe we should do some poll to vote for all suggested funcionalities or something?
Anyway i do not want here to spam forum by my app's link so i will put it here only if you would like to see it or send a private message to users that want it.

There is a programme that has upto 10 or 15 alarms you can set, I've just bought a new pc after my old one died, but I will be looking for it once more. When I find it I will post a link, it's free and it does exactly what it says on the tin..!

Hey Amneth, good question, there are multiple answers however the best one I'll give when I'm sober, in the meantime have a look on the e android market or iPhone if it into that n find an app which u may be able to use/customise to suit it needs, I've been using multiple alarms to wake me after every rem cycle to assist dream recall n wielding I'm looking into creating a specific app/system for this tho

      Peace...

OK, so I found the timer once again and it does have 15 alarms that you can set at your own whim. It's a little flash timer and I will post it on the forums as soon as I have link privileges, (I don't understand why they restrict that for 7 days, but hey, that's the rule), so if anyone wants the timer in the meantime, PM me and I'll give you the link* to my dropbox.

      Cheers,
      Nicho...!

*Assuming I can PM links that is, if not, I'll be able to post links in around 3 days. TY.
