      When to take vitamin b6?

ast week I took 300 mg of vitamin b6 and 15 mg of melatonin right before I went to bed and I couldn't sleep a wink. That night I slept for roughly 3 hours. It's been a week now, so I'm ready to try vitamin b6 again. However, I'm not sure when is the best time to take it. I don't want to have insomnia again. It was painful.

Thats a lot of B6! Sometimes B6 will make you feel active. I usually take B6 @ wbtb not prebed. Prebed is fine but try cutting the dose to 50-100mg.ive also had great results with just melatonin @ wbtb. Or you could combine the two just keep the B6 low.

I also had a lot of wakefulness with my one time of 100mg B6 (I tried 50mg before that and didn't notice too much wakefulness). Note that sometimes the *best* dreams come after a long wakeful period and a slooooow descent into dreaming. I had been sleeping really well all of April but the flipside was crappy dreaming: low awareness, poor recall, poor and rare lucidity. B6 also has not done anything for me. I have generally pretty good recall on a good night so maybe the supplements can't boost that any higher. My absolute best results so far in all my trials has been: #1 the muscle builder protein/carbs/vitamin mix; and #2 3mg melatonin at bedtime.

I took 100 mg vitamin b at wbtb last night. It took me 2 hours to go back to sleep. Don't know if it was because of melatonin or both. Anyway I'm switching to galantamine and 5-htp next week. Hopefully I will have my first full blown lucid dream with them.

Did you experience any increased vividness or recall with the B6? How much melatonin did you take and when?

Took 5-HTP for the 2nd or 3rd time last night hoping for rebound and vivid dreams in the 2nd half of the night, I woke up and still have a really heavy and dizzy feeling in my head. People respond to it differently. Think I'm close to laying off all supplements for a while (I say that a lot )

I take a multivitaminic complex which has b6, but nothing near that amount. For me, the best time to take it is in the afternoon or early evening (it's 6.30 pm here now, so I'll take it soon). I once tried taking it right before bed during a week and I woke up feeling restless. I'm prone to insomnia and as far as I know now, b6 and b12 before bed can lead to waking up multiple times during the night without you noticing, which in the morning can make you feel "unexplicably" restless. I don't really know if it's true, but it seemed like it was for me.

Did you jump straight to 300mg of b6? You should experiment with different amounts I have heard between 100-500 mg I usually have 200 mg prebed 3 times a week and I can go to sleep fine and if you feel like the amount you had was not enough you can always have another 100 mg during your wbtb I have noticed improvements in recall with it but its only worth it if your dedicated to your daily and nightly routine because otherwise recall won't be that good anyway. In a few weeks I might experiment with 300 mg, I tried 300 mg once and I couldn't fall asleep for hours and my foot was numb and I'm not sure that was an effect of the b6 or not

My dream recall is usually decent. I don't think b6 has anything to do with it. I wouldn't mind being able to remember more details though. I'm trying 200 mg b6 at wbtb tonight. I've been taking melatonin before going to bed for a week now. Can I continue taking it? Will there be consequences"?

How much melatonin? There is no consensus on it. General wisdom is that if you replace something the body manufactures itself from supplements, the body stops supplying it naturally making you dependend on the supplement. But that's guesswork.

Maybe try good blue-blocking safety goggles before bed, I'm wearing some right now and can barely keep my eyes open.

I usually take 10-15 mg melatonin. I took 12 mg and 200 mg b6 last night and had a successful WILD. However, like my other LD, it was short-live, lasted less than 1 minute. I don't think it was an effect of the pills though. I sometimes can do it without any pills.

Anyway I'm going to stay off these pills for a couple days. Feel like I've been taking them too much.

It's good to take regular breaks to let things flush out of your system and to let your body get back to "normal". Did you just start with 10-15mg of melatonin all at once, or did you start lower and work your way up after finding the smaller amounts did nothing? 1mg is enough to make me noticeably sleepy at bedtime if I'm feeling wired and wide awake (fairly rare for me at bedtime since I generally exercise every day). 3mg really knocks me out and the last time I took that at bedtime a week ago, I I experienced some really good REM rebound (or perhaps was just a long WBTB, I was wakeful in the middle of the night), and had vivid and long and memorable dreams towards morning, some parts semi-lucid and some parts lucid.
