Truthfully, I just thought about this, then my brain started to hurt and all I did was end up confusing myself... |
|
If there is an after-life, was there a pre-life? If I don't remember that one, will I remember this life when I die and go to the after-life? I find it hard to believe that I simpily did not exist, spiritually, physically, at all. Where did myself come from, my ideas and thoughts? |

I always tend to tie this into free will, but I don't know how. Let my write down my thoughts and see where I go. |

I think about this all the time, for awhile I couldn't imagine not existing, but I convinced myself it is possible because of what happened before I was born. |

It's clear that your consciousness and hence your 'soul' as you know it was mostly formed through childhood, so to say that it existed in any form before you were born would require some ludicrous explanation involving time travel. |
|
It is not possible to exist as nothing, so there are two options |
|
From a subjective perspective, to speak of a time before you were born makes no sense. Time is an attribute of conscious experience. If we were not conscious, time would have no meaning for us as we would have no changing experiences to reference. Even if we had past and future lives we would not be able to say that they followed in any particular sequence unless we retained some memory or character of being from one life to another which is apparently not the case. So instead of talking about past lives and future lives we should talk about "other lives". |

Super profundo on the early eve of your day
Where we came from originally is like a worldwind, i believe i was already here before i was born and i will still be here after my physical body dies...your soul/spirit carries on forever and is the one with all the information, some of it it keeps hidden, your subconscience...who are you, what is real? Did you just start living or...is it all in your head...think where that can take you. |
|
Sadly, you'll only know when you die. |

Everything seems to connect so easily with the theory that consciousness is the source of energy and matter. |

I live in your philosophy and religion forums.
why does it have to be sad that we'll only know the truth when we die? |
|
naturals are what we call people who did all the right things accidentally
if you are interested, there are many people today talking about pre-life |
|
Wait, if we lived "other" lives before our current one, then what about going to heaven and whatching over the ones you love. Would'nt you be in your next life or something. |
|
It's been forever!
Pre-life and after-life alike, are both superstitious, pretentious bull. You and I were both dead for trillions and trillions of years before you were born, and vica-versa, you will be dead for trillions and trillions of years after you die. Do you remember experiencing anything before you were born? Did you ever suffer from any inconveniences? No. You didn't. You need a conscience to experience things, and the only way to have a conscience is if you are living. Your consciousness is a product of your brain activity. When you die, you will have no consciousness. It will cease to exist and you will cease to exist, also. |
|
And the only time we return to consciousness is in a x amount of years when our particles reassimilate into something with a consciousness? |
|
While not in this mind, you are not apart of time. Afterlife and prelife are one and the same. |

Well hello there outspoken atheist! |

Starry starry night, paint your pallet blue and gray,
Look out on a summers day,

Before people are born they wake up in super satanic personalities within personalities and show up to give form within others. There's no such thing as life before death because the conception is purely unphysical to our very own eye lids. You cannot see it, therefore it doesn't exist. |
