Task of the Month for MARCH 2020

Do you have a Task of the Month suggestion that you would love to get chosen? Now you have the chance to suggest new tasks of the month by clicking the Future Task of the Month Suggestion Thread. If you complete a current TOTM, you will be able to vote on suggestions for the next month! Introduction: This topic is for the Lucid Tasks that are assigned by the Lucid Task Club and the On-Topic Administrator. Please attempt any or all of these tasks throughout the month. Report back in this thread, even if you didn't successfully accomplish the task. Your efforts should make interesting reading! This is required in order to get credit, it is no longer sufficient just to say that you did it. How to get your wings When you complete a task: Go to your control panel, then to permission groups, and request to be in the group that applies to the task that you've done: one basic or both, one advanced or both, bonus or how many tasks of the year. Please note, that we now have wings for every task. Requesting to join the group will upon approval also grant you access to Lucid Task Club. Of course you still need to post the pertinent part of the dream here and link to your DJ entry. Format of your post: [Basic, Advanced...] -[Name of the Task] - [success or fail] - [pertinent part of a dream] - [link to dj] For example: Basic - Drive a car - success When you post about another successful attempt, please tell me if it was your first or second task from basic or advanced tasks, or first, second... seventh task from the task of the year. I need to know this so I know which wings to give you. If you only say "completed TOTM - flying car" , this doesn't tell me which wings with how many stars should I give you. Please, make sure you post here your attempts both failures and successes, this will make this post much more dynamic. Whoever completes any of these tasks gets the following goodies until the end of the month: Your name will be displayed in ORANGE in the online members list at the bottom of the main forum page. *NEW* You'll also be displayed in orange purple (by popular vote) in our Discord. You will receive a special title and badge. You will receive access to the "Lucid Task Club" which is a limited access forum for people that complete a lucid task each month. Members of this club can vote for submitted suggestions for the next month's tasks. Access to the Lucid Task Club will also grant you early access to the next month's tasks, giving you a 2-3 day window to keep your wings for the following month. Tasks for this month: Basic Task i - Eat lettuce. (VagalTone) Basic Task ii - Get swallowed by a whale. (Lang) Advanced Task i - Summon a dream character and ask him or her where the elevator is. Then, go to the elevator and see where it takes you. (VagalTone) Advanced Task ii -Wrestle with a shark, or a bear, or a similarly large beast! (RelicWraith) FEBRUARY'S BEGINNER TASKS: (Anybody feel free to have fun with these, but you'll get wings only if you are a beginner. Some will change each month!) 1. Slow down, look around, describe what you see. 2. Touch the ground. What is it? Grass, asphalt? 3. Look at your body. What are you wearing? 4. Eat some food. Does it taste like it does in real life? 5. Look at the sky. Are there clouds, stars? 6. Find text you can read, then look at it again. Has it changed? 7. Pinch yourself. This morning I completed Basic Task i (eat lettuce) https://www.dreamviews.com/blogs/squ...ch-2020-89056/ Spoiler for Basic task i: Go into ‘Nana’s house’, call for her but she seems to not be there, it’s dark, (it’s basically Kandy crescent house, but not fully,) I go around looking for something, but weird things start happening: in the dim light I can just see a chest of drawers come sliding down the hallway, and either it bumps into me or I kick it; I kick it and the drawers fly out. I call out “who’s there?”, “Nana?” and “stop it!” Soon I start to walk down hallway to leave, and more things happen, things just fly around, I might scream, I hear noises, and I might shout at them. I think I still ask about Nana; do I ask if she’s here, if she’s ok? I know I need to leave this house. Outside, I’m flying, and it soon occurs to me that I’m dreaming. I’m aware of this for a few seconds before I decide to actually stop what I’m doing and do what I want to do. Then I’m like, ok, be lucid, I’m lucid, and then I go down on the ground and I think of eating lettuce, a basic task of the month. I basically am on a mission now, I expect a fridge is where I’ll find lettuce so I find a house, actually I think I go back into the same house, but I am hoping it will look different to before, and it does. I go to the kitchen, open the fridge, on my way to there I'm sort of rushing, thinking I want to get it done fast before I lose focus and forget or wake up, but then the rushing means I’m not even experiencing everything I’m doing, so I force myself to slow down, and think about what I’m feeling and seeing as I open the fridge, hoping to kind of move at the same speed as my body, not letting it get ahead of me. I seem to remember seeing carrots, but don’t think I do anything with them. I decide to open a tub of margarine and scrape some up in my fingers, hoping I can smell and taste it strongly and be anchored more in the dream. I sniff it but can’t smell it, it barely has a scent. I give up, must somehow get the butter off my hands (I don’t remember, perhaps I just forget it’s there), and then look to find some lettuce; on the bottom shelf, on the left, see a lettuce, or a third of one, the bottom third, but it’s a lettuce nonetheless, I’m sure, not cabbage, and I pick it up and take a bite - suddenly outside again? - and I’m feeling pretty amazed and on top of the world because I just for the first time ever completed a task in the correct month and it feels good. I take another bite or two of the lettuce. It’s quite thin leaves, or the first was, but it still feels ok, not like rubbery or old. I don’t focus very much on the taste or texture. Then there’s something about Mum, and Adam? I think of other goals, there’s a person here and I try to think of a lucid goal involving them (though there might not really be any)? Expect I soon lose lucidity.

Wow, so many months without wings. Let's change that... Spoiler for Basic Task i - Eat Lettuce: The visuals were bright, but stil blurred. I was in a white void. Soon, an SUV pulled up beside me. I opened the back door to find a bunch of groceries. Thinking of the TOTMs, I sift through the bags, until I find a head of lettuce (iceburg lettuce, if I'm correct). It was deceptively cold to keep in hand, freezing, in fact. I wasted no time chowing down. Although cold, it was actually really easy to bite into. Crisp, yet quite moist. Of taste, it was faintly earthy, not too bitter, more like drinking cucumber water rather than biting into a raw vegetable. It was really easy to go down, so much so that I at it all in three bites.
