      WILD Question

      Greetings,

      What are the signs of trying too hard when WILDing and how can I reverse the effects?

      probably by not trying too hard, but trying to reverse the effects would be still trying so you may think about not trying, but then you would probably try not to try. It's probably tial and error technique.

      I have a few tips. Just don't over complicate it. A lot of people tend to see the WILD as some huge intimidating technique that is extremely hard to achieve, which isn't true at all. It is a perfectly do-able technique and everyone here can achieve it. Just relax and don't get all worried if you are in SP yet or not in the dream yet, you need to be patient. Make sure to give yourself a good amount of time.

      You also shouldn't get frustrated or mad if you don't achieve WILD because just like any other lucid dreaming technique; it takes some time and dedication. Just know that with each attempt you are getting better and you will soon have your first WILD.

      Keep at it man! Good luck! PM me if you have any questions!

      Hi there my friend,

      One thing that signals me that i'm trying too hard is that when I get no results in 15-20 minutes. What I often do is I shift my body position and try to adjust my mood(if you know what I mean). When a person tries to WILD, there's often a sense of aggressiveness like "where is it? I should have an LD by now". You can try relaxing and think of happy things when you WILD but don't let yourself fall asleep though. Hope this helps

      @Kona, @weakamon:

      Last night, I almost made it happen! I almost achieved full sleep paralysis. Many thanks for taking the time to write down your comments and suggestions. Tonight I'm going to do the same and not make the mistake of moving.

      Thanks again

      You definitely don't want to start mentally focusing on "trying to WILD". Instead, you seriously just want to fall asleep but keep your mind slightly aware so you can notice when SP kicks in. The calmer and more relaxed you are, both physically and mentally, the better off you'll probably be when it comes to WILDing. Don't focus on your physical body and just let your thoughts come and go. You can tell when you're getting close because your mind starts to drift off into strange places, along with thinking of strange situations and scenarios.
      We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
      some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      Sleep paralysis is not something you really "have" to make happen. If you are dreaming you are flying, your physical body is still lying immobile in your bed. The physical body is for a temporal period somewhat immobilized while your dreaming body moves beyond such limitations. I say the dreaming body is more real than the physical. Any Arguments?

      Thank you very much for the advice Puffin. I can truly say that yesterday night was the first night in a longtime that I attempted WILDing in such a way. I was doing most of it correctly. I seem to progressively take myself down to that desired level of calmness that is needed in order to be successful.

      I'd like to know one thing... In the distant past now, I experienced a wave of energy during sleep paralysis. It felt like the sensation of falling asleep... but magnified. I resisted this energy every time, not knowing whether I should give in to it. Should I just go with it next time I encounter it and let it take over or will I fall asleep? Is it possibly the the transition stage that I kept "warding off"?

      Would it not be because the mind perceives it (the situation) to be real?
