      [Experienced WILDers] Tips on WILD?

      Fairly self-explanatory.

I've read up on WILDing, and want to give it a shot tonight. Any little tips I should know before doing this?

      Thanks!

You need to fall asleep. You want to stay aware, but not sleeping is the worst thing you can do.

You'll want to monitor your sleeping patterns. Usually it takes around 90 minutes to complete a cycle with REM being pretty much at the end of that. These REM periods get longer the more cycles you go through (which is why they recommend 4.5-6 hours). I'm not experienced in practice but I know a fair bit about the theory of doing it lol.

There are a few other posts you can refer too when looking for general advice,

These are just two that are fairly common, you can even look up more specific ones (like this thread), I've heard it's better to use Google to search the forum though.

This. I am by no means a good WILDer, but I have enough experience to know that this is the reason why most people fail WILDs.

I generally have trouble falling asleep. When I WILD I always get the numbness over my body and everything just feels, different. Is it around then you should be falling asleep? My trouble if it is is that my heart races rapidly and very heavily right after I get the sensations, which makes me have to breath in much harder than normal. Then that throws me out of the numbed weird state I was in.
