      Is WILD for me?

I used to have frequent night terrors so I think this may be part of it. I'm hesitant to do WILD because I've heard about the things you could hear or feel, and I'm not going to lie, hearing voices would creep me the hell out. And I also read you might feel pressure and bangings and I can just imagine that happening. I'm also afraid of SP because I had it 3 times before I reached the age of 10.

I am seeing a lot of these posts turning up and I have only been here a few days WILD is the most awesome experience you could have in my opinion...To be honest its never been bad for me I heard someone call my name the other night however it was a soft feminine voice.. Just because you will experience these sensations doesn't mean it will be negative. The things that used to freak me out where in my Astral Projections being pulled through a giant 3 dimensional tunnel It freaked me out yet it was so euphoric. My opinion is try it out. When ever I get scared I challenge myself and but heads with it normally resulting in a hugely positive out come I hope this helps. With out sleep paralysis I wouldn't have known about these states so I am very thankful for it. Good luck!

If you're scared of sleep paralysis and have had bad experiences with it, then WILD is probably not for you. I've heard from some people that you can WILD without experiencing SP, but I don't know. It's actually kind of some conflicting information, maybe another member can explain it. But I do know that a vast majority of WILD tutorials do discuss sleep paralysis, so chances are you will experience it if you attempt to WILD. I'm more of a MILDer myself, so maybe somebody who is more qualified can explain in more detail.

In WILD its more likely to experience Sleep Paralysis after entering a dream or "exiting your body" when you allow your body to fall asleep you can still revoke the state and move your body in my experience sleep paralysis has never occurred.

What do you mean exiting your body? Astral projection terrifies me thanks to the movie Insidious so I hope you weren't referring to that.

As entertaining as the movie is (which I do like by the way) it is a complete fabrication of what out of body experiences/astral projection is ...nothing like that will ever happen in any ones experiences...I completely understand your concerns but I urge you to look into these matters as fear will greatly hold you back. Insidious is wrong. Manifestations do occur but are easily dealt with.

I have never had a WILD experience but I am looking forward to having one. From what I can imagine, the voices you might hear are a lot like the ones you hear are very much like the type of hypnagogic type, which aren't scary because you can't really tell if you just heard it or imagined it. I have experienced these and have never been scared even though to tell you the truth I'm a bit of a chicken. So if I didn't get scared you won't get scared. It's the type of sounds you will feel are natural and come from your own mind, as if you are imagining the sound and you could almost hear it. It comes from your own mind's creation so it won't be scary...at least that's what I think it may be like. It's more like a sensation than an actual experience where you might hear something in your own house. Someone please quote me if I'm wrong.

I'm imagining that when you are attempting to have a WILD you aren't suppose to move anyway so this might cause you not to even notice sleep paralysis if it does occur?

For the last 2 months i've managed to have a WILD every week. And i can say that it's a wonderful experience. Sometimes i do not feel like i have SP. I feel the vibrations and all and sometimes i pop right into a dream.
On the processing of WILD you hear sounds and voices, yes. Once i heard a lot of voices at the same time, like i was catching radiowaves. Last week i heard steps around my room and when i entered the dream, i saw that was Gollum. I just told him to get the hell out and he did.
This nothing to be scared. It goes with the territory and you just have to go along with the ride.
As for Insidious, it's a movie. Movies are supposed to tells us a make-believe story for entertainment. Don't take it too seriously.

If SP paralysis occurred during a WILD I think its possible you would notice during a WILD you go more numb than anything lose feeling you then feel like you become consciousness its pretty rad. So you kind of feel disconnected from the bodies senses more than anything IF you became paralysed I am sure this would be a different state ...however it would make LD and AP easier

You can overcome the fear, knowing it's nothing but your head making it up can cheer you up, just think positive and think that nothing will hurt you and nothing will
