Red face what I discovered I love

I recently discovered just how much cats make me smile. Most of my family are dog lovers so we never had a cat. Thats not to say I don't adooore dogs, I do (especially my yorkies Evie and Baylie). Generally speaking I am a huge animal lover. But after getting a cat (a big fluffy, british longhair named Jinxie) I've discovered that I not only like cats, I love them. Jinxie has black and white fur and big beautiful, round green eyes. I always thought that cats were cold and distant. I could not have been more wrong. He is just as sensitive to my feelings as the doggies (which is a lot) and is always there for me when I'm upset. He is very playful and loves to roll around in my rose patch.

I love chocolate. Tons, and tons of the stuff.
You do not have to feed, or clean up after chocolate. You can also feed it to pets

Actually, dogs die if they eat chocolate. Also, people allergic to chocolate can die if they eat it. And eating more than a bar at a time usually makes me sick.

Cats, on the other hand, are awesome.

Chocolate does not kill dogs. There may be a breed that can not digest the wonderful treat, but no dog I have ever heard of has dropped dead from eating chocolate.
Chocolate rules, and there is nothing else to be said about the matter.
Why so negative a reply to something that is meant to be fun.
Party poopers on this site need to eat more chocolate. This includes you.

Do you realize you're inadvertently telling people to poison their dogs? Too much chocolate can make dogs very sick or kill them - do a little googling if you don't believe it.

Chocolate is on the list of most poisonous things to a pet. Not sure if cats are incuded, but I would err on side of caution.

I had a pony that stole my hot chocolate all the time. But yeah. No chocolate for pets.

I go to a huge pet store ( PETWORLD ) and they sell chocolate treats for dogs.
If this is a different formula to the standard stuff then I do apologise.
Seeing it on sale for dogs got me thinking some false information was being posted on here.
Now I find out, it is me with the bad advice.

Apologies to all dogs, and cats out there.

And shame on me for not listening

Wow - yeah, that must be some kind of special formula without the toxic ingredient. Seems kind of bizarre that they'd do that, as obviously it can lead people to believe chocolate is fine for dogs. Hopefully there's at least some kind of warning on the labels not to feed dogs normal chocolate.

That said, once when I was a kid and my family took an all-day trip to 6 flags we stupidly left a bowl of chocolate kisses on the coffee table and got home to find bits of shredded foil all over the carpet - but luckily Dusty was ok. He did act sick 'as a dog' all the next day though, it was possibly a very near thing.

My mother's dog died because of a skin illness most likely brought on by that dog having been fed chocolate. Chocolate is indeed toxic for dogs.

Just because a petstore sells something does not mean it is right, and actually many petstores are notoriously known for not having the pets' best interest in mind and not really having a clue much of the time. They are interested in profits: if it sells, they sell it. There are exceptions to the rule, the occasional petstore that happens to have an owner or manager who actually cares enough about pets and is well informed enough, but that's not the rule in that business, but rather the exception.

Chocolate has theobromine in it. It's a mild stimulant and an analogue of caffeine. While not inherently toxic to humans, both of these substances and many other related substances of the methylxanthine class are toxic to animals (such as common household pets like dogs and cats) and insects. In fact, caffeine is thought to be a natural pesticide formed by many plants.

My son owns a cat that absolutly hates, and fears me.
It runs away when I enter the room, and hides from me in the garden.
When we got her as a kitten apparently the man in the house did not treat her well.
No amount of feeding, or soft talk has worked. She is still terrified

So I have adopted a wild cat that used to steal food from our cats plate.
At first she would hiss, and spit at me. Any attempt at stroking her would result in nasty scratches.
Two months on, and she now waits for me in the mornings, and behaves like a domestic cat.
She now comes into my workshop, and sleeps on an old pillow, just at my feet.

Cats are incredable. Looking at pictures of kittens can be really calming, cuz there you see an animal thats beautiful and also very sweet ^_^ Plus they can also be very funny xD 8D

I also enjoy looking at flowers a lot. Plants just seem so peaceful to me. ^_^

I feel the exact same way. I like cats a lot, but my parents are dog people.

Cats always seem to be more entertaining than dogs, too.

Chocolate will not kill a dog or cat unless in excess. As someone else said, it's the theobromine which is bad for them. But they need to eat a lot.
I've given all my dogs small bits of chocolate and it's not harmful as long as they don't eat too much. Just like anything.

Anyway, cats suck and no they do not love you and are not even close to being as affectionate as dogs.
Cats are psychopathic killing machines, and they don't give a fuck about you. If they were bigger they would kill you just for fun.

      That's all.
