Tell me about your favorite course in school...

It could be a middle school, high school, or university course. It could be because of the teacher/professor. What's your favorite course, and why?

It would have to be a tie between a first year Philosophy course I took and a second year Biology course, for different reasons. The reason I enjoyed both was because of the professors.

The Philosophy professor was entertaining, his voice was almost hypnotic and he involved students in the discussions. The extremely casual atmosphere (he wasn't afraid to talk about anything) and 6 - 9pm class made it feel more like a fun philosophy club instead of school.

In the Biology class, the atmosphere was also pretty causal. He gave us printed out fill-in-the-blank notes so that we wouldn't have to worry about jotting everything down, but there was still a point in coming to class. (I can't stand any class that involves intense note-taking. It just takes away from actually being able to listen and comprehend the professor fully. I cannot multitask very well and end up missing half of what's being said because half my mind is focused on rushing to decide what points are important). He'd find a way to fit the most interesting examples he could find into any topic. Like even if we were talking about something as mundane as sponges, he'd find some example of a sponge that devoured fish using some crazy trap or something. Or if we were talking about some system in the human body, he'd bring up some insane example of what happens when a certain thing goes wrong, and showed us videos of the tree-man and stuff.

      Such an hard question...

I'd say Psychology in my 12th grade. At the time I didn't even know that I would want to be a psychologist in the future, but the first classes really amazed me. It was such a new experience for me to hear about behavior and the brain and relations and etc etc. I didn't get any great grades (only 16 out of 20), and the teacher also didn't like me (as a side note, not that it actually influenced my grade I think), but I really loved the subject.
The second one was probably English, but that's mostly because I could skip 90% of the classes and still get top grades. Sometimes me and my friend would only show up at the revision and the exam and it was a breeze. Needless to say, our teacher lowered the grades by 2 valors for me and for her because of our constant absence xD

^ Yup, I'd say psychology too. It was my best scoring subject in my final year of school. I had the absolute most greatest, brilliant teacher I could ever have wished for. I suppose she was one of the reasons why psychology stuck so much as a favourite subject.

By the way, sleep was one of the most interesting topics, amongst mental health.

Does it have to be one? I can't decide! There was a Philosophy of Eastern Religions course that taught me religious tolerance, I think freshman year at college. There were several English courses, including two taught by such amazing professors - one senior year of high school and the other freshman year in college, and I sought both of those professors out years later and now they are my Facebook friends - one of them reinforced my love for reading and helped me learn how to write better, and the other taught me how to improve my writing even further and taught me to no longer be homophobic as well. Then there was the course later at university which was about Performing Arts in Contemporary Society, and as part of that course we went to performances at the Kennedy Center in DC, jazz clubs, and theater plays, and it was such a fun course of basically performing arts appreciation and expanding our exposure to them. I also loved several cultural studies courses I had in college, which were just weird and quirky and made me think a lot in new directions.

My least favorite courses included one Spanish course in high school which I could use to do my homework during class because the course was going at snail pace. An Economics class in college during which lectures we were expected to read out loud from the textbook. And a philosophy class during which our Professor insisted that philosophy could prove his point which most of us disagreed with, and then one had the tough choice of whether to answer the exam questions the way he wanted them and get a good grade but lie about what one truly believed to be correct, or whether one answered the questions to the best of one's real knowledge and risk a bad grade.

Currently I follow a physics course. It's only one subject but I think it's very interesting. It's numbers, it's truth. You can even predict the future with it, you know wether a plane will be able to fly or not before you even start building it.

Political Science, Psychology and Philosophy are all really fascinating subjects to me.

I love Legal Studies and English.
I can breeze through them, and I find them interesting as well.
I've also put in my application to begin a head start course for psychology at university, while I continue to do year 11.
      Looking forward to that
