How long are lucid dreams?

Hey, I always thought lucid dreams were no more than a minute or two long (dream time). Personally, ive never had one more than a dozen or so seconds. is there an average time? or is there too much variance to get an exact answer? Just curious Thanks, goldguy31

If you get lucid at the start of the dream, can range anywhere from 1-60 minutes without re-bound or stage-chaining. Depends on the lengh of your dream cycle. If you chain REM with non-rem could be easily over an hour, or like 3 hours if you have rebound and chaining.

I can imagine a lucid dream in a coma lasting days however mine, on average, last minutes. I do not believe lucid dreams can last hours as I have never experienced this before.

IF YOU can become lucid at the beginning of your rem period you can have lucid a hour long beacuse rem cyles last 90min to 60min it just takes practice
