Unhappy Trying to attain lucidity is making me stressed

I am trying to lucid dream for a long time.
At the beginning it was easy to achieve an alterated state of consciousness..
but now.. it's very hard.. i try a lot and cannot get much sleep.. its making me stressed.
For example, when I try to relax, before an attempt to WILD I became anxious and to start to fill headaches.

      What should I do?

If WILDs are stressing you out, may I suggest you switch to MILD for a while. Because being stressed is not good for lucid dreaming. Later on you can get back to WILDing. Good luck

Yeah or take a break from writing down and trying dreaming for a week or two. WIthing the first three months of trying I had a total of 5 lucids I think none of them that long. Then I took a two week break and in those two weeks I had 3 LD all pretty long and one was very vivid and long which I was very very happy with! It could be just me but it's something you could try. Also do things during the day that relieve stress and just make you feel good. Usually if I've had a stress free day my dream life goes pretty good. but again this is from past experience. I'm just now getting back into dreaming after not doing anything for 7 months.... but also gab is right I would try MILD or work on strengthening a DILD. Good luck though! I hope things go well for you!

If you're trying too hard, it can actually hinder the process I've learned. I would suggest trying to take a break. I had a problem when I was first starting out where I couldn't get lucid at all. I decided to take a break for a while, and within a week had finally had one without even trying.

Thanks, I'll try to take it easy.. make fewer attempts during the week.

I wonder if antidepressives have any influence in lucid dreaming..
i feel like my lucid dream ability is supressed since I start to take paroxetine, and now, sertraline.
      Someone knows about this subject?

Have you tried other methods? I've been having some success with DILD this month, but I can not WILD at all. I tend to have panic attacks when I try because I feel like I can't breathe. If you feel like your getting too tired with trying to WILD, definitely make fewer attempts because you can't get lucid if you can't sleep But maybe look into the all day awareness and reality checks stuff. That way, if you fail to WILD you may get lucky and RC in your dream and find yourself lucid! And on nights when your not even trying to WILD you have the chance to become lucid in the middle of a dream. I'm just starting out with lucid dreaming as well, and have never had a successful WILD, so I feel your frustration! There are some nights when I too just have to say, I am NOT even going to think about lucid dreaming tonight, I'm too tired and go to sleep

I don't know a lot about how supplements can effect your dreaming, however I do know that many, can and will hinder dream recall. In my opinion, your best bet would to attempt lucidity with the mindset that you ain't taking any of those things.
