      Why am I losing it?

Hello lucid dreamers, I am very worried because in the last year I have considerably lost the ability to lucid dream, not only that, I can hardly remember my dreams at all. I use to have 2 - 3 lucid dreams in a week, and I ended up being really good at controlling it: flying at will, changing scenarios, calling people to it, and sometimes even avoiding to wake up and staying in the dream. But now I have almost nothing. It's been at least 6 month since my last lucid dream, and when I dream I can't "wake up" in the dream. I guess that a lot of you has gone through something like this, and I wanted to ask if anyone knows what can I do. I know how to lucid dream, but I just can't do it now

      Thank you and keep dreaming!

That is a pain in the butt sueño, I hate getting dry spells too.

You know what, I'm going to move this into the Attaining Lucidity Forum to see if some folks there can give you some advice.

Don't give up. And definitely start a dream journal to help with your recall. Best of luck to you!

Could be a lot of reasons, so it would help if you told us if anything's changed in your life recently (more stress, less exercise, different diet, different sleeping pattern, that sort of thing).

Try to remember what you were doing differently during your most successful lucid dreaming streaks. Maybe reading through your old dream journals will refresh your memory.

I guess that the way you had lucid dreams before was realizing that you were in a dream - DILD and MILD.

I suggest you to create a dream journal so you start remembering the dreams and you got familiar with the dream scenes.

Check out any good DILD guide so it teaches you how to raise awareness during the day.

I think that if you that every day in a week you should have again a lucid dream.

Thank you for the responses! Sorry if I mispell something but spanish is my native language (I'm from Chile)
I used to have a lot more activity when I was not working, but since I start working, and moved to another city, things changed.
I will sleep with a note pad and try to write down everything I remember, and I'll try some techniques, as if I was starting from zero.

I'll keep you updated with my dreams.. is there any technique "easier" than the others?

Moving and a new job can be disruptive, until you get used to new schedule and surroundings. When I returned from a month long trip, I didn't have any lucids for a month. I was little bit down, and that doesn't help.

MILD is usually easier and you don't have to get up at night for WBTB. But you have been LDing before. What was working for you?

Perhaps it could possibly be your attitude? Thinking with the mindest you have posted, it sounds like your are being negative towards dreaming, thinking that you can't do it anymore. Try looking at it more positively and telling yourself you can still lucid dream. (May not be the problem itself, but definitely a way to improve) Good luck

I don`t recall using any techniques, I just realized I was dreaming with no apparent reason. I don't think I've ever use any of the techniques, but I guess it's a lot better and more consistent to have one, so I'll start practicing with MILD. I already bought my new dream journal pad

That's awesome sueño! Let us know how it goes.

MILD can be a really powerful technique. Positive thinking goes a very long way, especially toward building your confidence back up and believing that you absolutely can, and will have a lucid dream.

Hello! In the last 4 days I've been having a lot of dream activity, I am having (and remembering) between 3 and 5 dreams per night, Every time I wake up after 5 am, I recall a dream and write it down. They are very vivid, which is really good, but during the dream I have no clue or whatsoever that it is a dream. How can remembering a lot of dreams help to awake in the dream? When I go to sleep I am convinced that I will wake up in the dream, but something is missing. I am very happy though, looking at my journal and see it grow.

Have you practiced the daytime awareness technique? http://www.dreamviews.com/f49/sat-sp...puffin-100798/
In my opinion, it's the best to get you realize, you are dreaming. Basically, during daytime, you stop what you doing and ask yourself if you dreaming. After a while, this behaviour will transfer into your dreams and you will ask yourself in the dream if you are dreaming. Voila!

I'm with gab on this one. Practicing you're awareness in the daytime definitely helps. When I was doing good with LDing half a yyear ago I was having good awareness throughout the day. IT really helped me and hopefully will help you! Good luck!

There have been times when I've suddenly stopped getting an LDs for no reason. Usually it's been because I haven't been focusing on daytime awareness as much. I cannot emphasize enough how much difference DA makes. It's an invaluable tool for LDing successfully.

Great to see you're back on track - i'd say it's probably because since you've started working again, you've become immersed in whatever activity you're doing and it makes you lose awareness. Hope all goes well.
