How do you wake up naturally for WBTB?

A lot of people say that it is better to wake up naturally so you aren't rudely awoken by an alarm for WBTB. I can also agree on that from my experiences ^^

I know about autosuggestion, but for me it keeps me awake as I'm falling asleep at night. But when it does work, it works 30% of the time for me. :/

I also know that you can drink water before bed time so you will wake up later. This usually works, but I think it depends on the amount I drink. But lately when I have tried this, I sleep the whole night through and don't wake up a single time.

Is there anything else I can try?
      Thanks in advance! ^-^

i use autosuggestion to ensure that i wake up. But I always woke up around 4-5 in the morning all my life. Drinking a bunch of fluid does help dough

I made a playlist of binaural beats that coincides with supposed brain activity so that I am awoken from the beats rather than an alarm. It works really well for me and the waves wake me up twice each night, whereupon I start an alarm that goes off every 20 minutes so I can work on WILD's in the morning. This has proven to work for me in that I am now in a very good habit of waking up each night multiple times. Also, I do always drink a big glass of water before bed and get a drink each time I wake up. If you have any questions about binaural beats I'm your man.

Just make it simple and work with your body:

      - Alarms help. Find your "sweet" spots for REM and put an alarm, adjusting every night. At some point, if you are regular, you'll start waking up by yourself.
      - Mentalize yourself of your intention and do it every night. It's very important that you don't understand you can't wake up at some random point of the night unless you work for it.
      - Notice that while drinking water helps some people, you can't really choose when you will wake up, which might result in waking up after 3hours after going to bed. The key words here are adapt and adjust accordingly.

I've also been having this problem. Often times I will sleep through my alarms, or wake up and turn them off without really becoming awake.

I've got a few ideas to test out, so I'll be sure to report back if I find a consistent way to WBTB.

I don't know if it's true or not but Dr. Taylor that invented WBTB said that his research showed that 6 hours of sleep followed by 45 to 60 minutes of wakefulness before going back to sleep provided the optimum state to have lucid dreams when going back to sleep again. Obviously different people have different timescales that work for them.

I have to use a loud alarm clock to get me out of bed after 6 hours. If I get up for 10 minutes and then go back to bed I ususally find that I will fall asleep around the 45 minute mark.

lots and lots of water. I used to do auto suggestion which works pretty well too. Just tell yourself"I will wake up after each dream cycle and remember my dreams"
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

Be careful with this method. I overdid it and wet the bed.

I never do the WBTB anymore. I have found DEILD to be much more effective. What's the difference? DEILD begins with a dream that arouses you which places you at an excellent starting point as long as you do not get out of bed. WILD is a shot in the dark. So,my advice would be to wait for a dream to wake you up and not worry about it.

Very true, but DEILDs are hard when starting out. At least in my experince.
