      need help controlling my dreams!

Hey, I've recently just started lucid dreaming through the wake back to bed method and I love it! I haven't had as much fun as I could though because whenever I wish for things or want things to happen, nothing does. I can't get things to go my way. I can't control my dream to the full extent of it and as much as I'd like to... I've had about 8 lucid dreams and I just started not more than 3 weeks ago. It's fairly easy for me to lucid dream now. I had this morning and I was in my room, wishing for a girl to appear(don't ask ) and nothing would happen! I spent the whole dream trying to wish for things and nothing would happen, then my dream was over before I could do anything fun... I had a false awakening(always have them) and since i have a clock next to my bed I check it every time I wake up which makes me aware that I'm dreaming. The other day I had FOUR false awakenings, all resulting in different lucid dreams, but I didn't do anything fun because I can't control them the way I want them to...
Sorry for long read but I really need help

First of all... Congratulations to your fast progress!

I have practiced lucid dreaming for about 4 years and my most vivid and most controllable lucid dreams have been after a realized false awakening.
Basic Guides tells you to try different stabilization techniques so you can try doing that when you get lucid like:

      * Screaming "I AM LUCID! WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO" verbal language somehow stabilize it.
      * Feeling an object with your hands and then for an increased effect bang your head against it, just make sure it isn't a dream character.
      * Like above I somehow get more aware if I try to feel pain in my dreams, so are you dreaming? YES Ok then PINCH YOURSELF!

My lucid dreams actually doesn't last long either so I have tried to remember to do the things above but I don't always remember it.
So if you are going to try those things make sure you have it planned already so you really know that the first thing you should do when you become lucid is to do those actions.

My friend told me to plan ahead but I thought "No if I am lucid I will be totally aware and remember to do it". Well that is usually not the case...
So in my dream journal you can now see lots of lucid dreams that I wasted just because I didn't plan ahead!
Do not make the same mistake as I did.

Another RISKY but highly effective way to make a dream stable and vivid is to chain it. You might have heard of the DEILD technique if you haven't go and read about it.

You just have to think about your physical body in bed and that might wake up you OR give you another false awakening. It might not work for you, but when it does for me I am more aware of my thoughts and memories than what I would have been after a DILD.

I hope you learn to master the art of dreaming, I sure plan to

And sorry for long post, but you really needed help

Almost every LD I've had was from me waking up in my bed. I think that's because when I enter sleep paralysis I just let myself get through it and wait until it's over, then I open my eyes, and I'm dreaming! My dream this morning was as clear as real life, and yet I couldn't control anything. I'm aware of how to make my dream more vivid and I've done it, but that's not my problem. My problem is I can't control my dreams to the extent that I want to and it ruins the fun Also if I let anybody inside of my dream find out I'm lucid, they usually look at me in a weird way like in the movie Inception. But idk maybe that's just my imagination because of having watched the movie. I never tell anyone I'm lucid in my dream, I'm afraid I'll wake up.

So you mean that you can't control the dreaming at all? You are lucid but it feels like being in another body? Hmm if I don't remember wrong I think I experienced something similar to that.
But stabilization techniques are not there to only make the dream vivid, but to also make you have more control. But if you don't have ANY control of your dream body at all I guess you just need a little more experiences to get used to it.

Ah wait sorry you mean that you can't make things happen in the dream?

Yeah. I mean I can't make things happen in the dream. I remember when i was like 5 I had one and all I did was close my eyes and say say "I wish to have a gun" and a bunch of guns appeared in front of me after I opened my eyes. When I do that now, nothing happens. I can control some things, but not EVERYTHING. Like the other day I teleported like 20 feet infront of me but somehow I can't teleport to another place that isn't in my line of sight. I just can't do everything I would like to do. Or when I do get something I wish for, for example, I wished for Harry Potter powers the first dream I had, and I got them. But sometimes the spells didn't work or weren't working properly. Or I wished for a sword, but it was all flabby and not swordy at all.

As powerful as the brain may be it might not be able create a spell you don't have a memory of or a sword might be too detailed. I mean why do you think the counting fingers reality check works.

I am not sure if I can help you with this sorry. You seem to have a very good dream control though if this is your smallest problem, so be glad for that

You might also try knowing what you want and expecting it in a drawer or around a corner...down a hall or through a doorway.

Sometimes coming up with an indirect way to find things or achieve goals can really help.

I tried this this morning. I wished for something and heard a thud somewhere in my room. I thought what I wished for was in the closet, I opened the closet, and it wasn't there I also try closing my eyes and wishing but nothing happened

Hmmm...only thing I can suggest is not wishing but 'knowing' you will find what you're looking for.

Have you tried MILD? A good mantra might help.

Or perhaps a different method. Some things are hard to conjure if your mind says, "No, that's impossible." However, going into a magic shop or museum could lead you to some amazing objects/powers. The mind will likely find it easier to obtain a magic artifact from a museum than the closet or a drawer.

Try to find a connection between what you want and where you think it would be if it really existed in the waking world.

Okay will do. But honestly from what I remember more than half my LDs have been inside my room. How can I dream into anywhere I want to be? Like when I'm in SP hallucinating and hearing things, I know I'm going to LD, but I don't know how I will get to where I am. This morning I tried thinking of being somewhere but I just ended up waking up into my dream like every other time. How can I like start my dream wherever I want to be? This will help me maybe get to a museum or find a book that has like magical power in which I can write my wishes in and it'll come true. Because I've been stuck in my room/house for many of my LDs. Mostly because I haven't gone out to explore because I've spent the whole time trying to wish for something until my dream is over and i didn't achieve anything.

      1. You don't always have control in a lucid dream, or you may have different level of control. That doesn't mean that anything is wrong. It's a learned skill and takes practice, and even then you don't always have control. If you get frustrated over it, it will not work.

      2. Replace "wishing" with intent. When you wish, there may be some doubt, that you can do it, or that something will appear. With intent, there is no doubt, as you KNOW for sure, that what you expect to happen will happen. Just think about how "everybody" here on DV can do it, and so can you.

Try to have things appear where you can't see them. Like pull stuff out of your pocket. Since you read about it here on DV, you know, that whatever you want to pull out of there, is there. Practice whatever control you want to use during day. Pretend you just got lucid. Say "now I'm pulling a pistol out of my pocket" and say commands out loud. Don't just whisper them. Write your plan in your DJ.

Here is a tutorial for dream control. You will find more of them in DV Wiki and all over the Dreamviews. Read up as much as you can. Happy dreams

Since you are going for WILDs, do yourself a huge favor and read WILD class in DV Academy. It will answer all of your questions.
