Is school nights best to have lucid dreams?

Heres my opinion - Advantage: Gets you in a sleeping routine so your schedule is not all over the place. Disadvantage: You won't have time for some methods such as DEILD, FILD, WILD etc, so the only method is literally just DILD. What's your opinion?
Penny: So what do you say Sheldon, are we your X-men?
Sheldon: No, the X-men were named for the X in Charles Xavier. Since I am Sheldon Cooper, you will be, my C-men.

WBTB isn't very suitable for school nights, however a DEILD means Dream Exit Initiated Lucid Dream, so if you wake up during the night randomly, by all means do an attempt.

I use water as an aid to help me wake up naturally (not by an alarm) during the night, if you want to know more about it, read my Dream Journal.

Also try to get rid of all of your daily worries and concerns as you go to sleep because it can help you get more stable dreams that is easier to become aware of.
I usually do that by just imagining putting all the things that concerns me in a steel safe and then close the door, by just ackowledging your stress you can make it vanish.

      Hope this helped you.

I agree with MasterMind. My school schedule is hectic as well, so I can never do WBTBs and anything other than DILDs. So what I do is plan out what technique I'm attempting. For example, I'm free on Thursday afternoons so I make that my WILD nap day. On weekends I do WBTB+MILD or WILD, and on normal schooldays I do MILD.

      Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I would say no, especially for a technique like WILD. Even though I get a consistent schedule during the week, I also get less sleep. During the week I get around 5 more hours of sleep than during the week.

I would really say, yes and no. It depends on how quickly you can go back to sleep after a WILD. And how quickly you fall asleep and how trained you are. When you have a school week including less important lessons and representation, try it. You will not die.

My opinion is YES. You can do DEILDs if you wake up in early morning after a dream. It doesn't take much time. For WILDs you can try them after school while having a nap.
For me getting up in the mornings for school is hard. I only get about 8 hours of sleep about 23:00pm to 07:00am so I don't reach my best and the longest REM cycles during school days (it's about 8:30am to 11:00am while going to sleep at 23:00pm to 00:00am) so for a week i didin't dreamed or I just couldn't remember my non REM dreams at this time.

I would say that many techniques can still be practised. Firstly Deild is extremely short and wtbt isn't too bad either. One of the first steps I made when I started LDing was adjusting my sleep schedule here's how.
      OLD SCHEDULE
      8pm Eat
      9pm eat + tea
      10pm eat + tea
      11pm movie
      12pm go to bed
      7am wake up

There are many problems with this schedule, firstly I am eating less than three hours before sleep a definite no-no, secondly I am drinking less than an hour before sleep (although it was tea which helps you get to bed it still fills up your stomach with unnecesary liquids), thirdly I'm watching a bright light one hour before bed which makes it harder to get to sleep. Lastly I am not getting enough sleep.
      Here are the rules:
Only eat light food between 5-3 hours before sleep. Less than three only fruit or really light food is permitted. Do not over eat at dinner.
3-1 before sleep do not drink caffeine or sugar drinks, also do not overdrink. Water is permitted right throughout the night.
try to stay away from any white bright light sources half an hour before sleep
Adjust your sleep cycle so you et 8 hours sleep at least. (This was hard for me since after homework I liked to read a book/ watch movie/ play a game. I would get carried away and keep going until late at night. I told myself that whatever I can read in these books or play in these games I can have 10X as much fun in a lucid dream)
Eat a breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. It is one of the mechanisms to which the biological clock corresponds, if you do not your body will have a harder time getting ready for sleep.

Abide to all these rules and your sleep should be perfect and at it's maximum quality, now you can afford to wake up for twenty mins during the night.

I prefer the MILD technique and many of my lucids happen in the late morning. When going to school, I find that my rate of lucid dreams declines from say a break or those that I have on weekends.
