      Master Lucid Dreaming

      Hey DV!

I am currently trying to master DEILD and I was curious about what techniques that others are working on. In addition, to the people that already have a good grip on their technique; how long did it take to get to the point where you are now??? Any tips?

      Thanks!

It took me 25ish years to get where I am today with LDing. My main tip would be stick to it, year after year after year.

My other tip would be to learn about increasing your level of awareness. Awareness training helps a huge amount with DILD and LDing in general.

Thanks for your advice! I hope that this thread will help new-experienced lucid dreamers! I agree, it is important to stick to lucid dreaming. I have been on and of the past few years because of my crazy job schedule but it looks like I am goin to have many many free months and maybe years ahead to perfect this art

So are your LDs mostly from DILD or do you use a different technique?

I use them all. Often I get lazy and then it is mostly DILD, but if I am ambitious, I am good at WILDs and DEILD.

Hahaha I agree with sivason. I always have lucid dreams due to Dild or Deild. It's a great combination because the Dild happens spontaneously and with the Deild I can chain them longer. I usually pass through phases with different techniques.
Deild really started me off, to me it is the ultimate technique, I used to practise it full on and within around 2 months I got to a stage where I could have a lucid a day if I really tried. I however did get tired of having to say mantras to wake up everynight so I started Dild with it.
Now after around 4 months I'm getting fairly profficient at it and on good night I can easily chain a lucid dream to have hour or more lucid sessions. My main strength comes from my ambition and love for lucid dreaming.
When I came to DV Deild was fairly hidden and only practised by the more mature members so I swore I would try change that. Look at it now, everyone is trying it
Best advise is just keep going strong and aim high

I havent been lucid dreaming for too long. But I started out having all WILDS. Only recently have I been applying awareness and having DILDS/DEILDS which I'm glad I did. As dutchraptor said, Dilds are more spontaneous but will happen more often, and randomly if you have good awareness. And when I wake up at a good time, I can usually succeed on most WILD attempts, and if not it will usually end up becoming a DILD anyway :p

That is great to know dutchraptor! As I think I mentioned already I am trying DEILD and I think I am somewhat of a natural hahaha! My first night I woke up after 4-5 of my dreams, but I moved...After moving I thought it was hopeless and went back to sleep, but I'm hearing that even if I do move it is possible to enter a dream. I wonder how many LD's I threw away!

My tip would be a simple one: If you can remember the dream you exited from immediately visualize that same dream. Good luck to you!

Don't worry about what may have happened but rather think about what is to come. I stopped focusing on LDing for months, and while I regret that, I'm just focusing on it again.

Seems like you and I are both working on the same thing . It took me a few weeks to get to waking up with my eyes closed and keeping still. That was the point where I stopped focusing though. I'll just say practice, practice, and patience! My thing I like to use is "I will be aware when I wake up from a dream" and "I will keep my eyes closed and stay perfectly still when I wake up from a dream". I would advise playing around, and coming up with one that sounds right and works for you. For example, I first did "I will be aware when I awake from a dream," but the two aware and awake things didn't sound right together.

Good luck with this! Maybe we can work together a bit. Message me or something

Thanks! I heard that remembering the dream you just exited from is better because it is easier on the brain to remain in its current state.

That sounds great! Practice is something that is very important obviously. Sometimes I get discouraged when something doesn't go as I planed but I try to view it in a positive way. For example, if I move after waking up I will view it as a success because I woke up in the first place.

I will shoot you a PM so we can talk in more detail about how we are progressing. It would be nice to have someone to keep you motivated!
