      Your keys to lucidity

      Hi,

Please play along, I think it will be simple and short. You can always update it later. Please list up to 5 words or short phrases that you think or know are your keys to being lucid (it is okay to go over 5 of course..or less if it is that simple). All skill levels welcome, just try to close by putting your skill level. I will start.

      -awareness
      -imagination/visualization
      -WILD / WBTB
      -daydreaming

      Level: solid novice?
(suggested choices: beginner, novice, good, proficient)

your answer sounds like what a beginner would say, but you obviously have a very strong LD count! can you elaborate?

BrandonBoss and zoth00, I will check out your links in signatures, and thanks for your answers!

I go to sleep with the mindset of trying my best to become lucid in my dreams. It's basically a MILD technique. If I don't become lucid with this mindset I don't get down on myself because I know I did the best I could do. This keeps my confidence up which helps me become lucid even more and avoid long dry spells.

Check them out. The last one is mostly about what we are talking about now. It has some long good answers.

Also, WBTB as often as possible!!!

      Keeping a dream journal.
      Setting lucid dream goals.
Actively doing WILD/WBTB, rather than halfhearted, or lazy attempts.
Positive thinking (being happy with small successes).

Level: Good, I guess? I've been doing it for a few years now, and can have lucid dreams pretty frequently, unless in a dry spell. But these key things help me get through the dry spells.
      It's all in your head.

I've made a habit of keeping a physical dream journal near my bed. This have somwhat increased both my recalls and keeping up motivation of keep trying to get lucid.

Something that made me lucid was a tip from Gab. The tip was to write down in the dream journal before bed, that I will remember I'm dreaming etc.
That somehow worked out for me, since then I been writing down that sort of things, and also goals what I want to do in my dreams.
Worked only first time for me though, so far. But I keep writing it down and using different words and goals.

My level: well, novice? Had 4 LD's in year 2012, 2 LD's in 2011 and this year so far 1 LD.
I've though read lots about lucid dreaming, astral projection, out of body experiences etc, and somehow I feel like I know very much about it. Problem is that I just don't got any success in coming aware in my dream.
I have just not put enough effort I guess, always use to forget make reality check during days etc, and forgetting to practise all day awareness when I have decided that I will do it.
