Any tips/suggestions on my current plan to get a dream?

hello guys! new here, and i'm still waiting for my first lucid dream
(guess i have a long way still, since this is the 3rd day i know about it haha)
So i just wanted to ask if the music below is helpful in relaxing, i mean, it is really relaxing to me, but can it hinder the lucid dream possibility?
i usually put this on every time i fall asleep (it plays 10-15 minutes., then i fall asleep, and it plays for another hour or so)

      My plan is:

      keep dream journal
      do reality checks
do visualization MILD, start going to sleep at 12 while listening to this kind of stuff.
wake up at 5, do WTBT, go to sleep at 5:30
and hope to see a lucid dream

It doesn't let me post videos :/ so i guess you guys will have to go to youtube and listen to it yourself.. if you want.
this is the title of the video: Get to sleep FAST! SLEEP MUSIC
it has a purple colored thumbnail.

sometimes i also listen to rain/thunder sounds.

anything missing? or incorrect? i plan on doing this every day, if can.

      Welcome galastrato!

Although dream incubation through sound is not particulary effective (the chances of significant incorporation of the sound aren't very high according to experiments), chances are that your ritual can indeed give you a lucid. The fact that you're assembling those actions at the same point of the day (or in this case night) can give you a sense habit that can go over your dreams. Besides, you're doing reality checks and MILD, and those alone can easily give you a lucid. So keep going, you seem to be on the right track

Moving this to Attaining Lucidity btw.

Trying out MILD? This is how you become skilled at it.

Sounds like a good plan! The most important part, I think, is to be enthusiastic about it and keep it going. The music you posted is great for relaxation and might help you in WBTB especially if you are used to listening to music when falling asleep. As zoth said the music may not get you directly lucid, but you may learn to associate it with lucidity and make it work for you, that's one option, the other is just to relax while listening.

thanks! i do just that, it is really relaxing, and i love listening to it while falling asleep, i was just concerned that it might interrupt the incubation of a lucid dream, but it seems like it's alright! so yeah thank you again! )

Hey there, welcome! Sounds like a neat plan. One tip I can give you though is do nit force yourself to do it. If you don't have the time or you are stressed out, it is always better to take care of yourself first because it will just wear you out. Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Galastro, if you are going to listen to something I strongly recommend binaural beats. They take you to a whole new level of existence if you meditate to them, and I always get incredibly vivid day dreams when using them. "Normal" music might just serve as a distraction to be honest.

      Just something i've noticed!

      @Zoth

Music incorporated into LDs has happened with me when I tried. I got the same number of LDs, but it was after listening to music waking up and taking headphones off. In the dreams and LDs I would have random songs (even some I have never heard before) in the dreams.

I think it would help a lot for DEILD if you remember that when you start hearing music you lay still, but lots of things are like that.

As apart of your plan, you say you are going to do visualization. What exactly is visualization? Can someone explain to me, or is there a thread somewhere on here about it?

visualization means like Recalling a dream, writing down the dream.. nothing else is there in visualization

You alsu use visualization when you are daydreaming. It is one of my main ways for LDing. Just sit around and visual meditate (daydream), thinking about what I have done in LDs and what I want to do, imagining what it would feel like. My LD rate goes through the roof if I can spend more time doing this.

I'll give that a shot! I do it sometimes through out the day when I really want my dream to turn out a specific way. But I'll start doing it more often for more frequent LDs in general. Thanks!

Remember to keep LDing in mind when you do it so that you aren't just incubating a dream. Keep the thought that you are dreaming in your mind. Good luck. The more you do this the highter chance. I would recommend doing it in the middle of the day and nearing bed. Day residue can give you an LD. If in your day you imagine a lucid dream it can carry over to a dream. Day residue doesn't cary over what you experience through the day, but what crosses your mind through the day, small difference, but a very distinct one.
