Returned from 5 year break, need advice on starting again

Hi guys so I just logged in to this forum for the first time in 5 years. Super crazy time capsule kind of thing going on. Anyway, I'm way less shitty and way more organized these days and I have like 5 months to do whatever I want so I want to try lucid dreaming again (never succeeded much) but I don't know where to start? I have the discipline to do any systematic method which I definitely lacked before, but most people I know tell me it just happens for them.

What do you think? What's the best way to lucid dream, starting from zero progress, blurry dreams, poor recall?

      Hey Avian.....

I just started on this journey a couple of months ago. What has worked for me is total immersion in all things LD. Go back and read up on MILD in the "Methods and Techniques" section here. Watch a bunch of videos on it and go after it hard. Think about it all day and go after it every night for a while.

Immerse yourself in a lucid dreaming stew for a little while. You'll have small successes. Grab onto them hard and hold them close so you can build on them.

      Good luck.

      Sleep well and dream........

      Allo! Welcome back.

I recommend Dream Journalling with consistency (with that increased discipline as you've said). DJ's going to help you increase your recall more than anything else, and that's something you should build up first right?

As for technique, like lenscaper said, MILD is an excellent technique. But so are every other technique! Do check out the intro guides, or any other guides on this site, and just have a casual skim over of it. And pick one that you feel good about, that you think will help you the most. That's gonna help bypass some doubts too. Or pick one that you think is the least pain in the butt, so you will stick with it!

If you want fastest results, like I always say, Raduga's technique is very good. Although experiences from this technique always appears to be short and other techniques may likely provide better results long term .

      Good luck

Sounds good, thanks guys. I guess I'll just start working on it and hope something develops.

5 months is a good chunk of time. Try Sageous WILD course as the main meal and BillyBob WILD posts for dessert. Itīs all there.

I've been starting from scratch many times.
As mentioned above first thing is get your recall back, easily done with journaling.

After that, pick something that is easiest for you to pick up.
For me DILDs and MILDs are the go to techniques.

I'm also getting back in to it after a few years off so let's get this thing going eh?
