      Am I doing MILD right?

So MILD has been my method and here's what I do:

I repeat a mantra then imagine a previous dream where I become Lucid and create a scenario until I sleep

I've been able to recall dreams better so is that a good sign?

No, this is not MILD, this is "misinformation MILD." There are several good sources on MILD. "Exploring The World of Lucid Dreaming" and "Lucid Dreaming" (books by LaBerge) have the official version of it (as LaBerge is the creator of MILD).

HI! I would suggest not doing the imagining part at first. You are trying to fall asleep while staying barely aware. Do this in the middle of the night after having woke up to use the restroom or setting an alarm for say 5 hours into your sleep. Use a simple mantra that is only a few words. Time it with your breaths. Perhaps: "It's a Dream" with "dream" timed with the exhale. Try to fall asleep. Forget about everything, but keep the mantra going.
Get to where you have some sort of dreamlike half sleep states and then tell us about it here.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

I gave you the names of two books by LaBerge, who invented MILD. A lucid dreaming practitioner should definitely have books by LaBerge in their library .
