      Nice, fun TK . I've had several mirror moments over the last few months (none got me lucid, but the first one was a real WTF!!!!!! moment), and one was a *totally* different unrecognized face.

      Congratulations, fogelbise!! Great night of dreaming, and you got an incredible amount of things done! A little fun time with the wife, a trip to yosemite (with half dome!), and a great start at making a snow man. I was also very amused by the little dance you and the woman at the store were doing.

      Nice, congratulations on the lucids! Been out of town so I'm just now getting caught up, but I'm glad to hear you're getting some motivation from the comp!

      Also, I enjoyed this dream premise: "Company approves cat naps for corporate wellness program."

      This was my previous LD (not in DJ) from earlier in the week posted in the "dream in one sentence" thread: I become lucid while using my car remote to get my car down from a parking space that was lifted off the ground (for space efficiency it seems) and left my car sitting sideways and took off for some lucid fun that landed me in a false awakening in a church!...that didn't stop me, though maybe it should have...(queue over-the-top evil laugh, haha).

      Way to claw yourself into the dream! That's some serious determination. I wish I had thought to do that with my visually empty maybe-WILD. I think getting the dream body moving and noticing it is a major key, super well-done! Hah, GF is selfish . Or is that: shellfish?

      Sounds really cool, man. I've been a little too zonked during WBTB (if I manage it at all) to stay up for WILD. I need to get more sleep to stay conscious long enough for HH!

      I'm going to go for some good sleep tonight, so if I catch any HH I will definitely try this.

      gab, a triple!!! That is encouraging!!! CL: thank you! I am not sure if the noise technique helped other than to keep my consciousness going and to keep Girl Friday in my sights...and that was HH noise when I was visualizing her I am quite sure. I think was working with both real and HH noises.

      Congratulations, fogelbise, great dream and a very nice style for performing the WILD! I have never tried playing with noise like this for WILDs. I will really have to try it.

      I always feel like there's not much noise around me when I'm falling asleep but I guess if you just pay attention, there is always something you can use.

      Good stuff, man, keep up the great work!

      Yes, that scenario fell right into my lap! That would have still been quite nice if it stayed as an NLD but it was even better lucid for sure!! I am just surprised that it took me so long into it to become lucid...but definitely no complaints!! Yes, I do almost always use my shorter, combined cycles version of SSILD during any true WBTB attempt. I do awareness and RC's during the day as well and have recently been experimenting with just mantras in the early morning especially.

      Congratulations on the lucid, fogelbise! What's funny is how little work you had to do to set things up for your "special gathering" Perfect NLD setup!

      Also, SSILD seems to be really consistent for you! Is it your primary tech these days?

      Correct, knowing that I am usually ready to go to the bathroom a 2nd time after 8 hours, I guessed that drinking a few gulps of water would likely get me up again earlier for a late mini-wbtb...the timing was better than I could have imagined, so hopefully I can duplicate the timing. I believe differences in caffeine intake can throw off estimates since it seems to make you retain water(?) and I was able to stay away from caffeine that whole day(for waking life health). And just to clarify, the only thing I am reasonably sure about on the mantras is that the mantras seemed to help create some of the dream content(the characters I got). I am just not sure if the Girl Friday mantra led to the lucid featuring her since it felt like I became lucid because of the awareness that what was supposed to be my house was in a state of remodel (when it really isn't IWL) and the home alarm acting weird were the final triggers...though I may have been nudged towards lucidity before fully realizing due to Girl Friday being there.

      Nice, so a little water during your first waking gave you the chance to have a well-timed 2nd awakening, is that right? I have used a trick similar to this for when I wake up for WBTB way too early but still want to LD later. But I've not timed it specifically for 6 hours. (Unfortunately, it's rare for me to get more than 7 hours of sleep, so I do what I can with that...)

      The mantra idea sounds like it's working great so I'll have to think of some ideas and try it soon! Thanks for the great idea!
