I've tried something related on few instances, namely trying to simulate that I was still dreaming, while the dream was either thinning out or in the void. Basically, what I would do is to try to move my eyes as if they are actually still observing the dream scene. It seemed to prolong the dream but I can't be 100% sure if it is because of the technique or just because it was one of those good days where you could just salvage the dream more easily.

Yeah, uncharacteristic doubt in this dream. Must have been the way the DC's of my loved ones were looking at me.

Sounds like a funny moment to be doubting under those circumstances (in retrospect, I'm sure!). Hmm, it's out, it's impressive, and there's some tugging going on...and something about palm lumping?
