    1. Mourning the angels, and an after-school storm

      by , 08-23-2013 at 12:11 PM (Mouka's Mind Palace)
(Note: These dreams were from yesterday, but I spent most of the day on the road antiquing, so I only had the time to write it up on my iPhone, so pretend the date is the 22nd here!)
Cory and I were sitting next to each other on an airplane at night. Most of the people on board were asleep, so the lights were dimmed. I was clutching a big puffy pillow and crying because I'd heard that a bunch of angels had died, but Cory didn't believe in angels so he thought I was being dumb and crying over nothing, which made me feel even worse. When we landed I decided to get my mind off it by working on a project, so I bought some supplies and started to build a model city. I remember sitting on the bed in the guest room of my grandmother's old trailer and fiddling with the parts. Then Cory came in with these cool mini lanterns that I realized I could put inside my model skyscrapers to make it look like their windows were lit up. It made me all excited and I told him my idea but he got mad at me because that was the reason he bought them and he thought I was taking credit for his idea. So I got stressed and started crying again. Soon after, mom came in the room with a computer and sat down next to me. She asked if I wanted to rent a movie so we looked at the Target website, which strangely enough had movies to rent, to find a movie since I knew that would cheer me up. I saw a list of old Disney animated movies like Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty, as well as DVD sets of Cartoon Network shows from ten-ish years ago like Dexter's Laboratory and Cow & Chicken. There was also a random DVD in the list called 'The Alabama Voices' that I recalled seeing at the store earlier that day when I went to buy my supplies. For some reason, whenever someone said the name of the movie, they had to sing it to the tune of 'The Neverending Story'. As we browsed the DVDs, I found out more angels had died so I had to excuse myself to go mourn some more, but Cory got pissed again thinking I was crying over nothing, which made things worse so I don't understand why he kept getting mad over it. Mom seemed to believe me though.

I was on a large college campus and classes had just let out, but it was raining too hard for me to walk to my car since I'd parked way up the road. I tried walking the distance at first, but as soon as I got to a fork in the road where I had to turn right to get to my car, the wind started to pick up so I ran to take shelter in the nearest building. I remember feeling scared that the building would blow away easily if a tornado came through, because it was such a small building. While I stood there watching the rain out of the hallway windows, a teacher walked by and said hello, but then went right outside and braved the winds. I thought he was crazy. Then I noticed that all the skin around my jawline where I normally shave felt really tight, so I felt it and realized it was all peely and gross like a super bad sunburn. I reasoned it must have been due to me getting rained on and not wiping the rain off before it dried, because the rain was very toxic in this area. I started freaking out and felt the need to get to a bathroom to fix my face. Unfortunately, there was no bathroom in that building so I ran out and made a mad dash for the next closest building (which was one of the main student halls that had lots of lockers everywhere). There was a bathroom there so I felt incredibly relieved.
    2. Francine-in-a-bag

      by , 08-22-2013 at 12:15 AM (Mouka's Mind Palace)
Cory and I were on a vacation on the outskirts of a big city somewhere because it was our anniversary. The place we stayed at was this cool modernistic rental house with its own indoor pool area with these retro-looking lights and water heating. We went swimming for a while but then I saw blood in the water near me and realized I was bleeding, so I got out of the pool quickly so Cory wouldn't see the blood in the water and get worried about me. Since we stopped swimming, he decided to go out to the store to buy us a bunch of snacks. After he left, Francine from American Dad randomly showed up to hang out because apparently she was my best friend, and we chatted about some things and lost track of time. But then I remembered Cory would be back soon and I didn't want him to feel hurt knowing I was hanging out with friends during our anniversary, so I told Francine to hide in a paper shopping bag. She somehow fit completely in the bag so I picked it up and put it in the bathroom as soon as Cory came back. He didn't bring back any snacks but instead told me to get ready because we were going out to eat instead at a fancy restaurant. When I asked him which one he said we'd go to the same one we went to the day before, and I was all excited about that because it was a restaurant I loved, so I rushed into the bathroom and stashed the bag with Francine in it in the shower and left with Cory.

    3. Spiders, Hot Wheels, and a girl named Abigail

      by , 08-20-2013 at 12:34 PM (Mouka's Mind Palace)
I was laying in my bed alone and it was morning, so I got up and walked over to the dresser when out of the corner of my eye I see movement on my bed. It turns out there were thousands of spiders crawling all over the bed sheets, and I went into a panic feeling myself all over making sure there were none on me. Then I noticed that they were all over the floor as well, and all along my walls! Just tons of them, of all different types. Little ones, big ones, poisonous ones like Black Widows and Brown Recluses... I had to just stand there without moving my feet because I was barefoot and afraid I would step on one and get bitten, and at that point I became lucid and I realized the whole thing was a dream and it would be impossible for so many spiders to be in my house. Unfortunately, I didn't have any control over the dream and couldn't will the spiders away, so instead I tried to reach for my shoes so I could walk over the spiders and out of the room. When I looked in my shoes there were spiders already with webs hanging out in them, and no matter what pair of shoes I picked up they all had webs and spiders in them. There were also webs all over my room now, in all the corners of the wall, in my bookcases, around my dresser and on my bike, and even under the bed! It was absolutely terrifying. So the whole dream I just stood there still waiting for it to end.
(Note: My fiance and I went hiking earlier yesterday only to discover spiders in webs all over the path because apparently they come out in force after a rain! We had to turn around early: hike cancelled on account of spiders. I think that caused this dream/nightmare.)

I had just transferred to a new school but nobody in my class wanted to help me get caught up on the assignments, until I sat down next to this nice girl. We both sat in the front row, near the middle. I think her name was Abigail, or Agatha, something like that, and she had blonde hair in braids and was really white like she never went out in the sun. She also wore an old-fashioned light blue dress that reminded me of Little House on the Prairie. She was really helpful and would let me borrow her notes and supplies I needed for the coursework. She was always smiling and I kinda had a little crush on her. The next day I sat down and she wasn't there, apparently she was running late. The professor had us work on an art project the class had started before I transferred, so I didn't have anything to work on. The project involved making an intricate picture out of string. Since Abigail wasn't there to loan me any string, I went over to the storage drawers to see if there was any extra laying around. I opened one of the drawers and someone's string art slid out and became tangled, I think it was a picture of a building made with red string. The guy came stomping over and was pissed at me, so I lied and said it was like that when I found it, but he didn't believe me so I went away from him and sat back down. He kept glaring at me the whole time, though. Soon Abigail came in and we discussed what we were going to wear on Halloween, and we left the room together and walked down the hall still talking about it. As we walked, the hallway transformed and soon we were walking in a vast snowy field at night, but it wasn't too dark because of a full moon. Abigail also transformed as we walked, she became a short old Inuit man, but for some reason I didn't think that was unusual at all. We sat down in the snow and the man made a fire and told me depressing things about how hard it was to keep food on the table for his wife and children.

I was in a library with a big collection of Hot Wheels cars, and I was sitting at a long wooden table going through one of those old-fashioned card catalogs. I wanted to find out how much my Hot Wheels were worth so I was looking for price guides. The collection was pretty big so I couldn't finish pricing it before the library closed, so I came back the next day. When I got there the library wasn't open yet and apparently wasn't going to open all day for some reason, so I sat there at the door hoping they'd open anyway. The library itself looked like a giant church, almost exactly like the Chapel of Loretto, and was out in the middle of wilderness, with no civilization around for miles. It was wintry outside, but not too cold, and there was a little bit of snow on the ground. Eventually I got annoyed and gave up, and started walking away, past some bare trees and over some hills.

    4. Attacked while lost in a parking lot

      by , 08-19-2013 at 05:59 AM (Mouka's Mind Palace)
I went to some sort of festival or marketplace with my parents, but they took their own car and I followed behind them in mine. We traveled down a winding road with lots of flowers and pristine sidewalks and fences, it was very upscale looking. At the end of the road there was a gate set up that was similar to the gates you have to pass to get on army bases, where they wouldn't let us pass until we each bought tickets to the festival/marketplace thing. After we got them, they let us through into a huge parking lot that was packed with probably tens of thousands of cars, and the lot was divided into lots of smaller parking lots placed all around the area of the gate, I think each was numbered so you could remember where you parked. My parents and I parked in separate lots and went into the festival, but I don't remember the actual festival except that it was inside a giant warehouse and had dimly lit blue hallways with vendors selling things like stuffed animals. When we came out I couldn't remember where I parked, but I saw a red car that looked sorta like my Celtius. I walked up to it and realized it wasn't my car at all, and a couple walked up and asked why I was staring at their car, so I felt really embarrassed. Then I noticed a bike rack sticking out of a space further up and assumed it was my car instead, so I smiled and told them I was just walking past to my car up there, but as I got closer I saw it was just a big black SUV that happened to have a bike rack and wasn't my car either! So embarrassing, because I knew the couple was still staring at me as I walked around confused... Instead of continuing to search the whole lot, I asked my parents for help, and I hopped in their car and we drove around the the different lots looking for my car. (I remember playing the song 'To The Hilt' by Die Krupps on their radio and they were all "Ughhh your music sucks." Whatever homes, my music rules.) We drove through the gate to check the outer lots, but when we tried to get back through the gates the guard demanded we buy tickets again. I explained my situation and luckily he let us in and even helped us look, so we all split up to search the whole lot. As I was looking I heard a loud whirring noise, kind of like really low pitched binaural beats, and looked up to see weird undulating black things flying around in the sky that kind of resembled big cargo copters but were super disturbing in the way they wiggled while they moved. I was terrified thinking they were UFOs with grey aliens in them, but kept looking for my car instead of running away. The copters started attacking and a giant face came down from the sky and started killing random people it set its sights on. It looked kinda like the Face of Boe but bigger and completely white and see-through like a ghost. Then it set its sights on me and I was so scared and hid behind a car. When I peeked around the side of the car I saw it floating there on the other side looking for me, so I kept going around the car trying to avoid its gaze as it also went around the car trying to find me. Suddenly it came down on me from on top of the car and I screamed, then I woke up right before it jumped me.

    5. Space station emergency, and a lucid dream ruined by a phone call

      by , 08-17-2013 at 06:39 AM (Mouka's Mind Palace)
I was on vacation, spending a few nights on a cool futuristic space station. Rather than single rooms for all the visitors, there was one huge communal bed area that was set up like a camp cabin - beds in rows on the left and right side of the room. In between the beds was about six feet of space on both sides to keep your items, and a single nightstand. So when I unpacked, most of my stuff wound up just sitting on the floor since I had packed a crap-ton of stuff. I had clothes and papers scattered on the floor. The room itself was huge, about the size of a small store. but to me I felt really snug and comfy there. As I was sleeping, there was some kind of emergency on the space station, I think there was either spies that had infiltrated the station, or a violent riot involving the station workers. One of the guides came into the communal bed area and woke everyone up and made us follow her as a group out of the area and down below deck, but for some reason nobody was scared and everyone thought it was just a guided tour of the ship. I was super comfortable in my bed and took a while to wake up before heading out with the group, then I realized everyone had packed their bags so I ran back to my bed to pack my luggage up. The group had left without me by then because it was taking me so long. I remember feeling anxious and rushed as I threw wrinkled clothes into my bag and lots of papers and notebooks, then running out after the group. I caught up with them in a big viewing area. We were all standing there looking out this giant window into space that was about 20 feet tall and maybe 50 feet wide. As we looked out the window, two asteroids came flying at us, and crashed right into the window, causing a big hole in the glass before they bounced off back into space. We didn't fly out of the window because there was some kind of Star Trek-esque force field in place keeping the oxygen in. We all totally freaked out and the asteroids started talking to us, mocking us and saying they were going to come back and hit us again if we didn't leave. Our guide scoffed and said they were bluffing because asteroids couldn't change course, so they got angry and kept floating away from the ship. We walked from the hole in the window to an elevator on the opposite end of the room, and I got in it first followed by a few other people in front of me. I felt relieved because I figured if the elevator opened up and there were spies with guns on the other side, they would shoot the people in front of me and I could just fall to the ground and pretend to be dead, and hopefully survive. Nobody shot us but Jonathan eventually joined our group at one point, and people started wondering if I had something to do with the emergency because I had taken so long to catch up with them.

I had a lucid dream, but I can't remember what it was about. In the dream, I was standing somewhere and realized it was a dream, but then the ground started shaking and I heard my cell phone ringtone vibrating through the sky as loud as a jet engine, and suddenly the whole dream shattered like glass and I woke up. Sure enough, my phone was ringing and had ruined my lucid dream! I answered it and talked on the phone for a while, but by the time I'd hung up, the whole lucid dream had escaped my memory before I had the chance to write it down.

    6. The end of a Seinfeld episode, wilderness survival, and grocery store freezers

      by , 08-15-2013 at 11:24 AM (Mouka's Mind Palace)
I was sitting in a plane near the back, and I turned around and saw Jerry Seinfeld and his friends sitting in the very last row near the rear exit. As the plane started down the runway, he was making jokes about how the last row was where terrorists and murderers sit, and everyone around him was laughing. Suddenly the door to the rear exit started swinging open, and Jerry noticed it right away and did that silly shout he always does in the show as he jumped out of his seat and raced to catch the door and close it before the plane got airborne. My dream ended right as he reached the door. I saw the plane from the outside and it was like, halfway on the runway and halfway in the air with Jerry's arms hanging out the door when the scene froze and started showing Seinfeld end credits and playing that little concluding riff.

There was some sort of competition between me and someone else involving surviving in the wilderness. I was sitting near a campfire with some guy I'd hired to help me survive to give me the edge in the competition, but the guy was annoyed because things weren't going to plan and all the huntable animals that were supposed to be in the area were gone. The wilderness we were in was very beautiful, though. It was a large grassland with small amounts of trees and lots and lots of lakes, but it wasn't wet and marshy like areas with lots of small lakes usually are. There was a mountain range in the distance that spanned the entire horizon, and opposite of that the grasslands ended and dropped off down steep cliffs with no bottom. I think the person I was in competition with was either a ninja or a pirate, but he rode around on a big griffon so that gave him an advantage. He kept flying by and belittling me.

Some vague dream about a father and daughter sitting in the den, and the mother comes in and they talk about something. I remember the mother saying "That's why I had the fireplace put in." and the daughter and father were all surprised and weirded out by that for some reason.

I was in a grocery store, going up and down the aisles pushing a shopping cart. It was a very industrial-looking grocery store in that it looked more like a Home Depot except with food on the shelves. I got a few cleaning supplies that I can remember vividly. There were these huge mechanical aisles that were all pushed together in one massive block, and as I walked by them they automatically separated into actual aisles you could walk down and they were all frozen foods aisles. I thought that was very neat that they came together and broke apart like that and thinking it was very energy-efficient to keep the cold air in, even though the energy used to move the aisles was probably more than the cooling. As I walked up and down the frozen foods aisles, I saw that one of the freezer doors was actually a regular door that led into a building that was a labyrinth of even more freezer shelves except it was almost completely pitch black and I could barely make out the doors and the floor. I kept opening the doors but all the freezer shelves in that building were empty and had ice accumulating on the glass. As I tried to make my way through the labyrinth, I kept getting text messages from my ex-girlfriend I haven't seen in like eight years. They were weird one word text messages of random words, and she sent them super-fast, like I was getting a text every tenth of a second. I kept trying to text back but I couldn't keep up with her typing speed. When I got to the end of the labyrinth there was a dark room with some neon LED lights around and it was like a little lounge. I saw a lizard in a big terrarium and a door that led me back into the main grocery store. I was relieved to finally get out of the dark place and when I left there I stopped getting the texts so fast.
    7. WhoLock, Cory clones, and a metaphysical bazaar

      by , 08-12-2013 at 01:27 AM (Mouka's Mind Palace)
I was walking barefoot on a hard dirt path, it was old and had grass growing on it and stones embedded in the dirt. In the distance was an old house, and a brown barn or shed further out. I was listening to my iPod, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" was playing, and I thought it was going to take me a long time to walk down the path to that house even though it wasn't very far. I think I met someone along the path, but I don't remember details.

When I was sitting in the house, either the house from earlier or this was a separate dream, Cory came home, except there were two of him. He was all happy and talking to his clone, and he told me he was going to go running and then play tennis with his clone. I was super jealous because I wanted to go. I remember having some sort of notebook I was writing in, and at some point I was watching Doctor Who with Cory and we were talking about the Master and I was writing stuff about the show in the notebook.

Just after a college lecture on the second floor, I raced to the elevator for the ground floor because I was upset over something. I knew the rest of the people were headed towards the elevator as well, but they were still around the corner so I went in and closed the doors early, knowing they wouldn't know I did it. Then the doors reopened and people came inside, and I was confused because I thought it would take me to the ground floor before it opened back up again. Then, when the elevator opened again, all the people got out and I realized I had actually traveled to the ground floor, picked up those people, and then let them out back on the second floor. So then the people from the lecture I tried to avoid got on the elevator with me that time. At some point the elevator got really big and it was metallic and shiny, and there was a box near the wall. Martin Freeman was there by the box as Watson from Sherlock, and I was all excited and shy but I talked to him anyway. I think then he either disappeared into the box, or left the elevator.

I was at some kind of outdoor metaphysical bazaar where people had big areas set up selling things. It was the last day of the bazaar and it was about to close, and I found this really cool merchant with lots of things. On the table were small figurines near the end, and nearest to me were these weird bricks of incense that were carved to represent their smell. I saw one that had "Marzipan" carved on it in raised letters, but when I tried to smell it the lady who owned the booth said I didn't want that one because it had a bad smell. There were so many I couldn't decide, but she was already packing up her stuff and wound up packing them away as I looked at them. I walked further to the back and saw a high up shelf with some big statues on it. One of them looked like Yinepu as a human form with a jackal head, but when I took it off the shelf I noticed it had a mouse head. It was weird because I couldn't think of any Egyptian gods with a mouse head. There was another big statue on the shelf that was shiny and all white and ceramic, but I can't remember what it was a statue of. I think I looked at the bottom and saw it was $70. When I turned around and looked back to the table, everything had been packed away except for three Yinepu figurines, and they were actually Yinepu and not a mouse head. I thought I should buy them since they were all alone on the table and it must be fate, but then she packed them away too. After everything was packed, a young woman my age came out and started taking apart the booth and making the ground look like nobody had ever been there. We started talking and she was annoyed because her partner hadn't shown up to help her fix the field the bazaar was in and it would take a few days. She mentioned they were still taking volunteers, so I said I would help the next time they were bringing new volunteers in. She showed me a few tricks, like how to mold the field to make it normal again. I remember seeing her bunching up dirt to make a path from one merchant to the next, and then scattering the dirt to make the field just grass again. When I got home I went to the website to sign up, and there were lots of warnings saying only to do it if you were in shape and could handle 100+ degree weather, which made me nervous but I signed up anyway.
