Return of the DEILD Demon: He's Back, and He's PISSED!

Lol, so... bad bad night's sleep. It got so hot and humid and I woke up at 4:30 sweating my tuchis off. I didn't finally get back to sleep until everyone was gone and then some, maybe 8am. The dogs barked a couple times because it was windy, so it kept waking me up. One time, they barked and I thought "Oh shit, someone's trying to break in." I thought that because we really did get 3 bikes stolen recently. I was really really drowsy when they barked that last time, and I started to drift off.

Then they barked again, and I thought it sounded like they wre barking at the front door, like they do when Danny comes home. He left for work at 6am, so I thought maybe they sent him home for some reason. I heard the bedroom door open, and Danny said something. I tried to speak to him, I think I tried to ask him "Oh did they send you home?" But my voice was paralyzed. I managed to wake up, look up, and saw no one. Then I fell right back to sleep, and I could hear Danny say something again. He even lifted the covers on his side of the bed, and I thought he got in. Then I woke up again and he wasn't there. I gotta be HELLA-tired to get FA's like that haha!

Later on I woke up, still super tired, and I rolled over on my tummy which is more comfortable for falling back to sleep. I felt some vibrations, but instead of the nice, calm vibrations I had recently gotten used to, I felt the demon again. So I knew a lucid dream had started, or physical HH, take your pick. He climbed on my back, clasped my hands in his, and held me down, just like in the good ol' days. It was the grouchy one again, because when I tried to move, he growled like a dog. I tried to free my hands, mroe pressure and more growling. Mind you all, I know this isn't real, so I'm nto scared, just annoyed. At this point I could usually wriggle free and start an LD, maybe after sexing or slapping the guy, or both. But he was really strong. So I stretched my arms out, and did like an airplane move, more growling. I tried to reason with him, like oreo told me that last time (which worked the last time!), but my voice was paralyzed again. I even lifted my right hand to my mouth, and nibbled on his fingers haha. I admit I was having fun, but I wanted to LD! I was finally able to do the roll-out-of-bed technique, and it worked. Kinda. I rolled off the bed, and was falling a while without ever hitting a floor, Dumbass growling the whole way, and I either went nonlucid or just back into hard sleep, can't remember.

We love you when you're maaaaaaaaaad!

You know, this would be absolutely terrifying if you weren't aware of lucid dreaming. How many people suffer through this sort of thing believing that they are locked in spiritual combat with Lovecraftian horrors that have come to destroy their life (if not their afterlife?) I absolutely love that you've made him into nothing more than an annoyance and occasional sparring partner.

So, long-term what do you want to happen to this dude? Are you hoping that he'll stop snarling long enough to sit down and talk with you? That he'll go away (or at least stop interfering?) Or is he a part of your dreams that you'd miss if he were gone?

Do you think that your little buddy would respond to indirect control? When you struggle, it seems like your strength becomes his strength. (After all, where else is he going to get strength?) Could he be susceptible to a little dream jiu-jitsu?

I wonder what would happen if you were think only of how weak and tired he is. How tiny and slippery his hands are and how his childlike fingers can't maintain a grip. How light his body feels as he slumps over with fatigue. How he almost gratefully rolls to the side, finally drained from all of this struggling. How tired he is of fighting and how much all he wants to do is talk to you. What would he say?

This persistent DC is really fascinating. I know you wanted a bigger more Halloween-y LD, but at least you got a good fight scene.

I wonder this alot myself! Not just with the general public today who are unaware of LDing, or young children, but I wonder how many ghost stories, monster stories, legendary creatures etc were just some crazy, early morning HH. Thank goodness I got my wits about me, or I'd probably catch 10 strokes.

I've been struggling on and off with this guy and his brother (the nice one) for a while now. I've tried summoning them in LDs on my terms for a throw down, but they only show up during that lucid/HH phase. Long term, I wouldn't mind if they hung around, so long as I'm not being completely subdued. Hell, I don't even mind the occasional battle.. it didn't matter because ultimately, if I didn't like where it was going, I just got out of bed and left the room to start another lucid adventure. But the last couple times I couldn't do anything. Not even talk. Alllll that said, when they were gone for a few months, you're right, I did miss them

Not a bad idea actually. I need to try SOMEthing to get the upper hand again. Oreoboy once told me to have a nice heart-to-heart, basically with the idea that perhaps this was just a really intense WILD vibrations phase, and the holding down part was just to keep me in place until lucidity could take its proper foothold. Worked like a charm. But if I can't even speak, gaaaaah... Maybe this demon #3, feels different than the other 2. But you're right, I need a strategy. Bad.

You know man, after I'm done whining about the situation, I always look back and laugh. What a weird group of DCs! And you know, I've only ever seen them twice? Well, technically I saw one fully, and the second I only saw a reflection of his arm in my bedroom mirror. Oh and I saw a contorted face once. And sometimes they take the form of my bf, before gnawing flesh of my hands. HAHA fuckers.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. Maybe your idea of imagining them weaker and weaker will work. I'm not closed to the possibility that my brute force methods are just adding to their own strength, since it IS just me afterall. What a fun experiment, I'll let you know!

Completely agree! I can't even imagine what it would be like to confront this kind of thing in more superstitious times. Or even today without access to the right information or the support system of places like this. When I think about how realistic false awakenings are, I can easily understand how people become convinced that they've fallen victim to things like alien abductions.

Yeah, I'm also a fan of talking to this fellow (voice permitting.) Neat idea on Oreoboy's part going with the flow and thinking of this guy as a helper. Were you able to get him to answer any of the "What do you represent?" types of questions?

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to hearing how it goes, whether you go with my idea or just end up punching him in the scrot. You're the pro at this sort of demon-fighting. I'm like the schmoe who shouts unsolicited advice like "Use the chokehold!! The chokehold!" at UFC fighters.

But my working theory is that this guy's strength only exists so far as you permit it to. You're the dreamer so you're never wrong. It means that if you pull against his strength, his strength must exist. But if you're focused in detail on how weak, enervated, and small he is, what chance does he have? He could no more control you than I could thumb-wrestle Thor. Or that's the theory anyway.

I love your attitude on this. I hope I can keep myself together like this the next time I get an unpleasant LD surprise!

Quick reply before bed: Yeah! The first one I asked his name, and he said "Helveticus." Then I asked where he came from and he showed me some weird middle-earth type map. I remember the paper that the map was written on, it had rosemary leaves embedded in the paper. I told him that I couldn't bring the paper with me, but I could just google map it the next morning haha. After all that, he chilled out. The next one I asked said his name was "Menatus." He wasn't as bad as the first one. This 3rd one though is a poo. Def gonna try your idea on the next visit.

LOL. Love your promise to "google map" his demon realm.
