LD Number 5: Flying in the desert

    by , 11-11-2014 at 01:25 PM (796 Views)
WBTB at 2:15am: I am on the ground floor of what appears to be an office building milling about with many other people. There is quite a crowd, and it is hard for me to make my way to where I want to go, which is to to a room with a microwave to heat my container of soup. I actually had to wait for a phalanx of military style men to march past, three abreast. There was about 60 or so of them.

I take my soup outside to get away from the crowd, find a concrete path and follow it away leaving all the people behind. I quickly find myself in a barren desert-like scene with only sun, sand, and rocks. I am alone, a long way from anyone, when I begin to be overtaken from behind by four men in their middle 20‘s. They are not outright hostile, but neither are they particularly friendly. I am concerned mostly because I am outnumbered. They slowly overtake me (walking) and pass around me as a group, at which time I say to a couple of them “How are you doing?” but they keep walking with little response (that I can remember).

Up ahead I approach a scene in which two men (not the ones who walked past me) are sexually assaulting a third man. One is laying on top of the man kissing him. The man being kissed does not seem all that interested in being kissed. The second man in the assault is not really doing anything, but standing by at their feet. I grow immediately uncomfortable and fearful and turn to make an expedited exit from the scene. As I flee, I flap my arms and become airborne. I immediately realize I am dreaming. This is a DREAM!!!

I continue to fly away gaining altitude, and now I can appreciate the scene and sky, which is a beautiful slate gray and pink towards the horizon off to my right. I remember the man being assaulted, and now with the encouragement that this is a dream, turn in flight, find the path from above, and follow it back. I “zoom in” more like a scene out of a film than fly. I do not find any of the three men, but do arrive at a sandstone/red rock butte which looks EXACTLY like Merrick’s Butte in Navajo County Arizona which has square “windows” carved into it indicating it has been carved out inside to some extent and is being used as someone’s abode. Somehow I know it belongs to the man who was being assaulted, and I float up to the partially board-covered entrance.

I knock on the door and a female child’s voice asks “Who’s there?” I make a silly knock-knock joke (can no longer remember what I said in response, but it was nonsensical and silly) and the man/father lifts the board and lets me inside their house/fortress since I am viewed as a friend and the girl is utterly intrigued by my ability to float/fly. I ask the man if the men who were attacking him can get up this high and he says, no, not yet, but they have tried. I wake. Time = 3:56am.

Congrats on the ld! An awesome turnaround of the event, and the dream version of merrick's butte must have looked spectacular.

Thanks for your kind words. Merrick's Butte was awesome in the dream. It was ALSO neat the way the board used to cover the "door" was stained in a redwood finish to further disguise and camouflage the entrance. I didn't put that level of detail in my DJ entry, but I will never forget it.

By FAR the single most awesome occurrence while lucid was the "zoom" that occurred. One second I was flying with the sensation of moving forward, and then BAM - I had the sensation of being absolutely still and the environment was moving towards >>ME.<< Have you ever been sitting in a parked car and had someone next to you pull out slowly, and you think it is YOUR car that is rolling forward? It was that kind of powerful, convincing illusion...except it was more like looking at the back of a smart phone taking a movie and hitting the zoom and have everything imaged magnify and get rapidly closer. Well, think about how that would appear if there was no border to the screen and the entire field of your view did that!!! Fabulous what the brain can create.

Aww, I love such level of dream detail.

Indeed, it is amazing what we can do in dreams. And distance or time doesn't have to obey the usual laws. The zoom technique is a great example of that. Another thing I enjoy a lot is pulling and pushing things with telekinesis. Wish you many more awesome experiences!
