Dream No. 264 - Soul Searching

I don't remember how the dream started. From where I do remember, I was with a big, mixed group of random people at my house. This guy resembled the behaviour of a high school homeroom teacher. He wonders what the time is and so I got to him, “It's 3:30” but when I look down at my watch it's actually 4:30, so I quickly correct myself. He said something about us being very late and so he asked me about running afternoon homeroom. I told him, “4:30 to 4:35 should be enough; afternoon homeroom typically runs for five minutes” and I was basing this on the structure I witnessed in real life.

I was then at my dining room table and there was also the Jackie Chu puppet from SML, alive and talking. I forgot what he said to start with but there was some sort of “Asian” event that he was running. It kind of felt like some sort of board game but the dreamers were going to be immersed inside it so it would feel like a real simulation. All dreamers were able to start in the main area except for me. Jackie Chu said I had to stay in the playground until I accomplished some preliminary tasks. I had to do some soul searching; I could do 4 of anything and then I had to also master one particular aspect that I have forgotten the name of.

The other dreamers were taking their turns first and so I watched on. Sly, Bentley (in his wheelchair) and Murray were all placed in different areas of the board and doing their thing. Jackie Chu mentioned something about a boxing challenge and that every one would be able to pass it except the hippo. Still in the dining room, I'm whispering to myself “Jackie Chu why would you say that? He's the strongest one out of all of them and yet you put him down so harshly”. Jackie Chu's opinion must have come from the fact that Murray was in his Dreamtime outfit from Sly 3 and so didn't look as tough as expected.

It was about to be my turn and so I thought of of four things I should do in my area to complete the “soul searching” section. I thought that one of the things I could do was have my dream guide help me with my fear of lifts again. When I appeared inside the world of the board, nothing happened and I thought to myself “I must be doing something wrong” and was soon taken back to the dining room after my turn had finished.

I thought long and hard about what I actually needed to do. I yelled out, “I don't know what to do! What is soul searching?!”. Jackie Chu then appeared and told me to go online onto this particular site. There it had the soul searching matrix and I finally understood what is was. I found this part in the dream so fascinating as it exposed me to wide creative range of tasks I could carry out. One matrix cell was based on the principle, “Use the day time to assist your allies. Use the night time to punish your enemies”. One example following that principle was “Set off a storm in Italy”.

From that idea, I was able to come up with something of my own. Since it was always day time on the board, I would have to come up with something that would help an ally. I eventually thought of this; “Out of your four elements, use Earth to stop a dreamer from falling down the cliff”. As I envisioned this idea, a holographic scene was playing at the same time, almost as if though I was looking at my thoughts.

Murray was in the middle of that terrifying drop down the cliff into nothing when I flew down beside him and activated my Earth element which showed in the form of a green barrier, just like the one in the form of Dream No. 251 B. Additionally, the barrier was decorated with some abstract leaves and flowers, as if they'd been drawn on a tablet PC. Once the barrier was around Murray, he floated at his current level and then when the barrier started to ascend, so did he.

The dream scene then solely focused on one thing when I got some paper to write down the task on. Half way though writing down the task, I wake up.

That scene where I set the elemental barrier to surround Murray looked really cool and this morning when I was recapping the dream, I thought, I could draw this scene. So I might see if I can do a visual representation of this scene. This entry will be updated when the drawing is done.
