    1. Random Jake Dreams, and Meeting My Pen Pal In Person

      by , 08-25-2012 at 02:51 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

      Finally, some good recall again!

I was with Jake. I can't quite remember where.

Then, I was sitting at my desk putting a baggie with a tiny piece of a marijuana bud in it in an envelope for my friend, Grace (who doesn't smoke in waking life). I was going to mail it to her. I felt like I had mailed marijuana before and it wasn't a big problem (yeah, I'm not dumb enough to do this in waking life).

I then was walking through what was supposed to be a high school or something. I was still with Jake. I then saw my reflection in something we walked past, not a mirror but a very reflective surface, and I looked quite a bit different. My hair was short and straight and styled in a bouffant fashion. I was wearing a short skirt, red I think, but I don't remember what kind of top I was wearing. I looked at it for a second as we walked by.

I again saw my reflection, and it looked the same as before, bouffant hairdo and all.

Then, we were walking through a garage, still at the school apparently, and I was smoking a cigarette. As we walked up the stairs to the door to exit the garage, I flicked the butt behind me, not watching where it landed. My dad was then walking with me, and commented on the stink of the cigarettes (apparently lots of people smoked here).

      ~

I was going to Jake's. I went into his apartment, and immediately thought that the locks had been changed for the new roommates moving in, and I didn't have the new key. Oh well.

I walked through the apartment, which looked much different than in waking life. I remember walking past a cabinet with these two new, gold locks on it. On the living room couch were his two new roommates, two college guys. I remember one having a very short black mohawk and being shirtless. I don't remember what they were doing, I think they were just drinking soda or something. They didn't even seem to notice as I walked in.

I then went to Jake's room. It was super messy, and he was sleeping on what looked like a cot in the middle of the mess, kind of close to the door. I woke him up and said something about his new roommates.

      ~

There are some fragments that I can't really place.

One, I was watching something on TV in my room with my mom, when the bouffant girl that was supposed to be me in the last dream came on TV. I got excited and told her about the dream. She smiled and got excited too (lol she wouldn't get excited in waking life).

Another was of me driving topless. I felt exposed. Why the hell was I driving topless?

I then remember something about seeing my old cat, Pounce, or at least a cat that looked just like her. This triggered lucidity, and I looked at my hands to stabalize, but I immediately lost it and went into a non-lucid dream.

      ~

I got a text from my pen pal, Gabriel, whom in waking life I've never met in person, and who lives in another state. It said
      "Wanna get a drink?"
I hadn't realized he had texted me; it had been about 30-45 minutes since he had asked me. I got really excited and I told him yes, but he didn't answer right away. It was kinda late too, like 8:30pm or so.

So I got online and ordered some ticket to some bar in Franklin, the town he lived in in the dream. I then somehow had the small white ticket. It looked like a ticket to a movie.

I was then in the kitchen at my house, My mom was then telling me how she wanted me to help her with something. I told her I wasn't going to be coming home that night. She asked why, and I said I was going to go get a drink.

I realized that he never answered my text. I then called him, and he picked up on the first ring. I was a little nervous about talking to him.
      "Hello?" he said.
      "Hey."
      "Hey."
"I do want to get a drink."
That's about all I remember of the conversation, though I'm sure there was more. I felt more at ease as we talked. His voice was soft and deep; comforting.
I think he texted me his address.

I then left. It was dark, obviously, since it was late. I only had about an hour and a half to drive (only 30 min. away in waking life).

I was then at his place. We went into his room, and he was talking to me as he went through some stuff on his bed. He had already bought this six pack of hard lemonade-type drinks. So I guess we were drinking at his place. His apartment seemed a little messy, but it wasn't bad. He had short black hair, looked youthful, and was a little shorter than the average guy. He actually would later in the dream remind me of someone I'm acquainted with in waking life, Tony.

I sat down at a desk chair, and we started on our hard lemonades. We were talking, having a good time, feeling each other out since we'd never actually met in person. I was a little skeptical just because I felt like I kinda rushed into getting drinks with him, but he seemed gentle, nice, and genuine.

At one point we were talking about the lemonades. He was already on his second, and I was still on my first, though it was almost gone.

I then fell asleep. I woke up, and didn't see Gabriel. I went to the bag the six pack was in, but all the lemonades were gone. I guess I had been out long enough for Gabriel to drink the rest.

My mom then came in and did or said something, I can't remember, but I thought it was insane that she even knew where I was, that she even knew his address. Weird.

Then, Gabriel came back in with a bunch more booze. He pulled out amber liquor and beer, which was the same color. I started to open one up, but realized it was liquor, so I started to open up another, smaller bottle instead. I actually wasn't sure if it was liquor or beer or something else altogether, but I poured it into a glass and started to drink it. The flavor wasn't bad, though it tasted muted for some reason. I could taste the slight bitterness, but it was fine.

Then, we were talking again, I think I mentioned something about my mom coming over. I was a little tipsy, but mostly I think I was just tired. Gabriel started talking to some of his friends, whom I think were supposed to be his band. They were looking at instruments that were in what now seemed to be a mixture of Gabriel's place and a music store. This is the part where I really thought he looked like Tony. He made hand gesture to his mouth to tell the guys we were drinking. The next thing I remember, they were gone.

At some point, I noticed his bed. It was a queen with old, dusty, worn-looking white bedding. I thought it would be perfect to share with him.

I then took too big a sip of my alcohol. I let it sit in my mouth for a second, afraid to swallow cause I didn't want to puke, but sucked it up and did it anyway. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, it was just fine.

I feel like my mom was there again. Someone was, anyway, and I was laying on my stomach on a bed or something. Gabriel then put his hand on my back. A big smile painted my face. His touch was so gentle and soft. I trusted him a lot more then.

Finally, Gabriel said he was going to go to bed. I asked him if he wanted me to stay or go.
      "Ummm..." He was thinking.

I then was woken up to hearing my neighbor call their dog.
      "Sawyer!!!"

Oddly, in the last dream, I think part of me knew it was a dream. I didn't want to wake up, and I remember looking at my hands trying to keep the dream, but I wasn't actively lucid. It was just "in the back of my head" or something. I dunno. Either way, I'm not going to classify it as lucid.

    2. Trying To Attain My Lucid Goal

      by , 08-06-2012 at 03:15 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I fell asleep and found myself in a mix between my current house and one I lived in briefly as a child. It was daytime outside according to the lighting in the room. I think I was in my room, but it looked different. I immediately knew I was dreaming. I examined my hands so I wouldn't get too excited and wake up. I then remembered my most recent lucid goal: To confront JP about being in so many of my dreams. I started to call out his name, trying to get him to appear, but he didn't. I kept looking at my hands to keep the dream from fading.

I kept losing the dream and then going back into it (it's been awhile since I've been lucid), but I regained lucidity each time this happened, and I would remember my goal as well. Every time I'd "wake up" somewhere else in the house, and I'd start to call JP.

I finally ended up somewhere that didn't look like the house anymore, but I think it was still supposed to be. I was standing in front of some stairs, and I called on JP. A man in a suit then appeared on the stairs, but he didn't look like JP; his skin was a bit darker, and he looked older. He didn't say a word and kept a strange, small smile on his face as he walked up the stairs.

Regardless of his strange looks, I treated him as if he were JP. I forcefully asked him something along the lines of "what are you doing here?" or "why are you in so many of my dreams?", but he kept on just walking up the stairs with his little smile, staying silent the whole time. Things then started to get blurry, and I tried to examine my hands to keep the dream, but I, again, lost it.

I then "woke up" somewhere else, I'm not sure where, but wherever I was, I decided to try to fly since its been so long. I took off into a blue sky dotted with clouds. Below me was green grass and trees with lush, green leaves. At a certain height I felt a little resistance, but that's normal for my flying dreams; I was glad to even be flying at all since I haven't had many LDs lately.

As I was flying, I passed by some kind of tiny flowers, and I reached out to touch them.

That's all I remember from that one, though I know there was a bit more to it than what I can recall.

      ~

I was in my bedroom, but, of course, it looked different than my actual bedroom. I was talking to someone on the phone, or myself, I'm not sure, but I was worried that the sound would carry through this weird window in my wall that went into the hallway, and my mom would hear my conversation. Later on, she said she didn't hear me, but I knew for a fact that the sound carried extremely well into the hall; I even heard my own voice coming from my room when I was out there.

    3. In and Out of Lucidity, and Having a Robotic Foot

      by , 12-08-2011 at 01:57 AM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I was at my house in the playroom. I was looking at my left foot. I pushed the top middle of it, right under my middle toe, and it opened to show wires and mechanics; my foot was mechanical. (think Will Smith’s arm in I, Robot).

Apparently, the reason I had a mechanical foot, was because Jason had one. I talked to him on the phone about it at some point. I don’t remember if it was through text or actually talking on the phone.

I then remember talking to my mom about it. She was asking me if she was sure that was a good idea. And I kept backing it up saying it was a good idea.

Jason did tell me that he had lost the feeling in his foot after awhile. I noticed that my mechanical foot wasn’t as sensitive as my real foot. I didn’t think it was a huge deal.

      ~

I was watching a movie about a female high school student who posed as a teacher. It was a comedy, kind of like Easy A or something. The girl had straight, short/medium length dark brown hair, and glasses. She had an accomplice, her friend, who was helping her cover it up. I kept seeing them get in the accomplice’s car and go places.

I think she finally got caught.

I then remember talking to my mom about the movie. I’m not sure where we were, but we were in a room somewhere. In the middle of talking to her, I had the realization that I was dreaming. I smiled, and looked at my mom and told her this was a dream, and I got the same look most DCs give me when I mention that. I ran past her.

I examined my hands to keep the dream stable. I also yelled
“Stabalize!”, which successfully stabilized my dream.

I went by a dried up potted plant sitting on a counter. I touched the leaf and it felt so real and vivid. I love it when that happens.

Then, I remember being upstairs. I was in a room that looked similar to the bonus room. I wanted to go somewhere else; to get out of the house and fly outside. I tried to tear up the ceiling, but only saw insulation.

I then spotted a dark blue wall with I think yellow stars on it; it almost looked like it was wrapped in wrapping paper. I started to tear it up, trying to find something or somewhere new. It came off in big blocky chunks, and just looked the same underneath as it did on the surface.

I woke up in sleep paralysis. I kept still and let it buzz until I went back into the dream. When my mind was sure I was dreaming, a voice in my head said
      “Action!”

I then effortlessly floated from my body in my bed. I was then close to my body’s head, and looked down and saw my body. It was laying on its back, and its eyes were open wide; it looked so frightened. I gently stroked its head of messy hair. I felt compassion for the body lying there.

I examined my hand to try to stabilize the dream, and it worked for a second, but I then lost it.

Again, I woke up in sleep paralysis, and the same scenario repeated, and I again heard
      “Action!”

I then was in a room. I wanted to fly, but it had been so long that it was proving to be difficult; I felt held down by gravity. I fought the heavy feeling in my legs, and took off through the ceiling and into this crazy cloud world. The hues of the clouds were grey and blue, and there were all these colorful floating structures; it reminded me of a Super Mario Galaxy world.

I was a little unsure of the flying at first, but I then felt like I was riding a current, and it got so much easier. I rushed by all these crazy floating structures, some that were swinging back and forth. I was smiling and laughing, saying
      “I’m dreaming! I’m dreaming!!”
    4. Lucidity on a Star Wars Planet, VIP Party, and Trying to Fly

      by , 11-22-2011 at 05:38 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      DreamLucid

I was with some people from work. I remember for sure that Bart was there, and so was this guy that works next door at the Music and Arts Center. We were getting ready to go to some water park party thing that was only supposed to be for celebrities. The guy from Music and Arts was supposed to be serving there or something.

We get into the party and walk around. The park is huge. It was evening. I don’t remember any specific celebs being there, but there were some people there. It wasn’t super crowded.

As we walked, I remember seeing a tiki hut like structure that we walked under. I also remember approaching and talking to Music and Arts guy as he was working. He was only wearing swimming trunks. I want to say they were red. I remember feeling happy and a little nervous to talk to him, since he's kinda cute.

We then were about to enter a part of the park where we couldn’t wear clothes, just bathing suits. Bart, some others that I can’t remember, and I found a place where people had set all their personal items and clothing. They were all just sitting on the ground next to beams supporting some structure. I started to take my clothes off, and noticed I was wearing an
extremely skimpy bikini, which was white with red lining the edges with a red flower on one of the breasts.

      ~

I was seeing an overview what looked like the world where Obi Wan fought Darth Vader in Episode III of Star Wars, though it looked more colorful. I knew they were supposed to battle soon.

I was then by a building standing on some rock. Jason was with me. It looked like dusk on the planet we were on. There were these machines lifting hot metal beams out of the molten metal covering most of the planet, which was sectioned out into different colors. The colors were darker hues of purple, red, blue, and I think green, though I can’t remember the green for certain. There were small metal platforms where the machines would place the hot metal beams. Jason was standing very close to one, and a machine started to quickly move a metal beam towards it. I told him to watch out, and he ran right before it hit him. That happened again and grazed his head, but nothing more.

Then, as a big metal box frame was being pulled out, I realized I was dreaming. As I realized this, I knew nothing could hurt either of us. I ran up to Jason, smiling, and wanted to badly to tell him we were dreaming, but for some reason, the words wouldn’t come out. It was like there was some mental block. I had my arms around his neck.

I then saw some other people, a group of 3 or 4, though I can’t remember who they were specifically. I wanted to tell them it was a dream too, but the same thing happened and I just didn’t do it, though I had run up to them to tell them.

I then headed towards the molten metal. I knew it wouldn’t hurt me, so I started to wade through it. It just felt kind of lukewarm. It was also pretty shallow, only going up midway past my ankles. I waded into different colors, wondering whether or not they would feel the same or warmer or cooler. I was a little scared of the orangey-red, because I thought it would be the warmest.

I also dodged some beams while I was in there.

I was then back where I started with Jason. I told him we were going to go somewhere else. I decided on the beach. I put my arms around his neck and looked at him, and noticed I was looking at myself; like I was seeing myself from his POV or something, because I was seeing me from where he was standing. It was weird. I closed my eyes and thought of the
beach, only to wake up upon opening them. -_- So much for that.

      ~

I was outside my house in the front yard, and knew I was dreaming immediately. It was nighttime outside. I decided to fly. I flew up into the air, but could only go so high; I was having some trouble. I guess I hadn’t flown in awhile, maybe that had something to do with it. Anyway, I wanted to get on the roof of my house, but I couldn’t get high enough. I remember the house looking a little different, with elegant domes all over the roof.

I kept almost landing and having to “swim” through the air to get myself up higher. There was always the point, though, where I couldn’t get any higher. Ugh.

I flew towards the house and tried to grab on to the edge of the roof, but as I did, I woke up.

    5. Lucid: I See and Approach Myself...

      by , 10-29-2011 at 04:12 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I know there was more to this dream than this, but this is all I can really recall right now.

I was in what looked like a bedroom. The carpets were dark red. I remembered something from my waking life (which happens quite a bit in my regular dreams as well as lucid), and that somehow got my brain to the conclusion that I was dreaming.

I started to walk through the room, and the right side of my vision went out. I started trying to get it back, but it felt like my eye was shut so tightly, that it would open my real eye if I tried too hard. I decided to wait it out.

I walked by a bed that was on my right. In front of me, was...me. I was there, sitting on the floor. My hair was pulled back into a ponytail, I was wearing a white shirt, and I was sitting Indian-style on the floor, looking at me and smiling. Curious, I approached myself, hoping to ask some questions.

By this point, my vision had fixed itself.

I came up to myself sitting on the floor. I looked, and where I had been sitting there was now some sort of kitchen appliance machine still in its box instead. The box was white and was in a shopping bag. Weird. I started trying to figure out what that could have meant.

I then was outside in the daytime. I saw a huge, clear, beautifully vivid rainbow. I was with someone, my dad I think. He was standing in front of and facing me. I told him to turn around and look, because I could see that the rainbow was about to fade. The sun started to set very quickly as the sky turned orange and red. The rainbow's colors darkened but were still vivid. My dad turned to look, and the rainbow started to morph. The top of the rainbow started to break up and turn until it was a bunch of vertically-facing dark-colored bands sitting on top of the rest of the rainbow. My dad pointed out what was going on extremely matter-of-factly, but I can't remember what he said.

    6. Interesting Lucidity and Weird Happenings With a Friend

      by , 10-20-2011 at 02:26 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I was laying in my bed on my stomach. Paul was sleeping next to me. I hoped he didn't try anything.

Then, it was morning, and we were up and out of bed. Brittany, a girl I met in one of my classes, laughed and said Paul had stayed at my house every night. She was right. I thought about it, and he had. I didn't understand why though. I mean, nothing had ever really happened between us or anything.

We were then laying in bed again. I was laying on my stomach, and I felt Paul put his arm over me and kinda cuddle me. I was so tired I didn't fight it. Paul then said something about us partying all night and staying up till dawn. I told him I couldn't because I had a test in the morning. He kept on talking about it anyway.

Another morning came. We were both up and about again. I looked at Paul, and all he was wearing were these mustard yellow boxers. I didn't look at him for too long; I didn't want him to get the wrong idea. I quickly averted my eyes.

I then went to class. I was in this big auditorium that reminded me of my old middle school auditorium.

Then, I was in bed again, and figured out I was dreaming. I looked around, and the TV was in the wrong place. I then did I finger count: 5 on the right hand, 6 on the left. I got up out of bed and went to phase through a wall, hoping it would take me somewhere else.

I was too hasty and didn't think through were I wanted to go, however, and things went black. I was in bed again after a few seconds of darkness, but I was still aware that I was dreaming. I decided to go get my brother and show him around the world of lucid dreaming. I got up out of my bed and hovered a little. I then went to my door to exit the room. I decided to not phase through it this time since the last time ended in blackness. I turned the handle, first doing another finger count.

I then was in my brother's room, trying to get his dream body out of bed. I don't remember much else from this part of the dream.

The next thing I know, I'm standing in front of a mirror. I look at my reflection, bu I discover that I look totally different. My hair is much darker, straighter, and longer, and my face looked much different and a bit younger. I concentrated a little more on it, and I started to be able to recognize my eyes on the unknown face staring back at me in the mirror.

I then decided to try something I've always heard about, but have never had experience with. A lot of people have told me that when they see their reflection in their dreams, it's horrible, disgusting, and terrifying. I've never had that experience, so I decided to try something to see what would happen. I said, out loud to my reflection,
"I want to face my demons. Show me my demons."
My face started to morph and change, every so often stopping in a distorted position. It would enlongate, flatten, my eyes would shrink, my face at one point looked kind of like an ass, etc. It just kept doing that. I could even feel it happening physically.

However, it wasn't scary. Just kinda weird.

I was then in a room somewhere. I felt the dream losing stability, so I started to feel and concentrate on my surroundings. I ran my hand over a glass surface, focusing on how real the glass felt. Below the glass was a metal surface. I did the same for that. I felt the cold, shiny metal under my fingers. It made the dream feel more stable.

    7. Space Velociraptors Take Over the Earth!

      by , 10-15-2011 at 04:37 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I was with my friend Paul. It was somewhere that I was spending the night for some reason. We were upstairs in some kind of bonus room. The only light in the room was a desk lamp at a desk Paul was sitting at. I was really tired, and laying on the floor on some blankets. I had a pillow as well. Paul was sitting in a desk chair which was turned towards me. We had been talking, but I don't remember about what. At some point, he was even massaging my feet. I hoped that he didn't think they were gross.

Then, I was so tired, I just decided to close my eyes and go to sleep.

I was then...I'm not really sure. I was in some white room that looked futuristic. We may have even been in space. This is where I figured out that space velociraptors had taken over the Earth. It was sometime in the future. The world was also running out of its water supply.

Even though these space raptors had taken over the planet, there were plenty of humans left. The thing was, they were living in constant fear. If the humans went outside, they were fair game to be eaten. People were getting picked off one by one. It was a horrible state.

I was told by some guy that we had to go back and get some people. We were then on Earth (a couple of men and myself) in my backyard. It was quiet, and the sky was grey. I knew we didn't need to be outside, though there were no raptors in sight; being outside was risky business in these times. I saw my brother at some point; he was helping us out.

I was then in my house. I don't really know what we needed the people for, but I was in there to get them. I walked through my kitchen, and then into my living room. It was quiet; I didn't see anyone inside. I saw some of the people who came with me outside through the windows.

I then felt like I lived there. I felt scared for my life. I felt the fear of the people of Earth.

Suddenly, through one of the windows, I saw them. A pack of raptors was running through my backyard. They were red with black, stripe-like markings on their backs. My breath caught in my throat and I dropped to the floor on my hands and knees. I frantically tried to crawl away from the windows, and ended up seeing some more passing through the front yard through the windows in our piano room. I felt like their vision was based on movement, so I tried to be still as I laid low. One of the raptors looked around as it passed. I hoped it didn't see me.

I started to panic, and immediately became lucid. I tried to think myself awake, but that wasn't enough. I started to say it out loud.
"Wake up, Krista. Wake up. Wake up!"
At first it didn't work. I closed my eyes and opened them in the exact same scene I had been in before.

Then, I closed my eyes and opened them again, finding myself back in the room with Paul. I was so relieved, but extremely sleepy. I looked next to me and noticed that Paul was laying on his stomach reading next to me on the blanket that I was also laying on. On the other side of Paul was a small child, a little boy. I think it was his nephew. I thought Paul was probably trying to make a move on me or something, but I didn't really care at that point. I was so tired that all I wanted to do was sleep. I turned to lay on my stomach as I cuddled my pillow a little. I moved a little closer to Paul, in a way hoping that he would cuddle with me.

      I then fell asleep again.

I was back where I had been, but I didn't feel as scared because I knew I was dreaming. Part of me just wanted to let the dream play out a little more, so I didn't really do anything to control it.

I was then on the Earth mission again, but I was at a different house this time. I knew I was dreaming, so I knew no one was in any real danger. I quickly decided to try to transform myself. I'd never done that before. For some reason, I decided to try to transform myself into Pikachu. Why I decided on Pikachu is absolutely beyond me. I concentrated for awhile, but it wouldn't work. I stood in front of a mirror to try to guide the transformation by watching myself. The best I got was one of my legs started to turn yellow at the thigh. I tried for my other leg, but no dice.

I then went away from the mirror and tried to shrink myself, seeing if I could do it that way. I shrank a little, but just ended up squatting on the floor. I then laid on my back to try to watch my legs shrink. Nope, no dice. Grr.

I was then in the white futuristic room again. I was told that the raptors had not originally come to kill, but when they got to Earth, they saw us and felt sorry for our species because we were so stupid and blind, and decided to take over the world and kill us. I also figured out that the world's water supply was pretty much out; someone said they didn't know for sure, but had heard someone on Earth, referring to the water, say
      "Oh shit."

I then was at my college, about to play a woodwind concert for band. I was holding my clarinet. I was walking down a bright hallway, when I saw the trombone players start to walk towards me, going on to play the brass portion of the concert. I then saw Austin (my ex in waking life who really does play trombone). His hair was shorter and he looked a lot younger. He wasn't wearing glasses either, as he usually is in waking life. I walked right by him, and he looked right at me. I then noticed that he had gotten shorter....waaaay shorter. In fact, as he walked by me, I turned around and he had shrunken a TON. I figured it was an illusion and he did it to himself. On top he was wearing a suit jacket, white shirt and tie, but on the bottom, he was wearing these baggy black pants with tons of ropes or belts that went from one leg to the other. I figured he had used those to make it look like he was way shorter.

Embarrassed, I turned to a friend and said
      "I can't believe I'm dating him."
    8. The Train Wreck and Brief Lucidity

      by , 10-13-2011 at 02:29 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I felt myself moving into a dream. I wanted to sit up, but not until I knew for sure I was dreaming.

Everything was then very dark around me, like it was the dead of night. I saw a window in my room where it wasn't supposed to be. I kept saying in my head
      "I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming."
I sat up, feeling no resistance, but then, I suddenly snapped back down like a rubber band.
      Bummer.

      ~

I was in high school band again. I had my bass clarinet out, and I was playing it, just messing around a little. I was standing, then I was sitting in the band at some point. A girl I used to know, Cathy I think, was playing a tenor sax. She was just beginning to learn how to play it. I looked over at her. The tenor sax looked HUGE. I mean, those things are already pretty damn big, but this one was as wide as a tenor and as long as my bass clarinet.

I looked at my reed. I realized that this was the first time I had gotten my bass clarinet out since high school, and that I should have checked it out before just putting it together and playing it. Who knows what kinda gross shit was in there? I started to take it apart in the band room while talking to someone.

At some point, I talked to my old band teacher as well.

      Dream skip.

I was about to see Chris again, for the first time in almost a year. Lots of things had changed; he was dating someone else and we hadn't really talked since January. I was really excited to see him.

Then, Chris was there. We were hanging out in an off-white room, I don't know where we were. I know everything was very clear and bright, like it was in the middle of the day. We were laughing and catching up, having a great time. I wanted so badly to tell him how much I had missed him, how much I wanted to spend more time with him. I wanted him to leave his girlfriend and come back to me, but I never said that. I couldn't bring myself to. Regardless, we did some hugging. It was nice.

Chris and I were then on a train. It was a strange train, as it ran on a single track that was raised up above the land, like a monorail. Below the tracks was green grass; we were in the country. The conductor wasn't there, so Chris had to drive the train. I was in there with him. The car was empty and colored grey steel. The only thing it had was a small steering wheel that looked like the steering wheel to a pirate ship, only smaller. I watched out the window as Chris drove the train. We took a curve and had a really close call; the train almost fell of the tracks, but Chris adjusted enough to fix it.

Then, I looked ahead on the tracks. There was a sharp curve coming up, and the track looked corroded. Chris did the best he could, but the train fell on its side and almost all the way off of the track. The right wall of the train fell out, and so did Chris. I rushed over as he was falling and grabbed his hand, saving him from falling to the ground some distance below. I had a rush of adrenaline as I did this, and felt the need to say something that had been bottling up the whole time we had been hanging out; the whole time we hadn't spoken or seen one another.
      "I love you," I said.
He did not respond. What was I expecting?

I pulled him back up into the remnants of the train.

We were then suddenly on the ground below the rail. The ground was no longer grass, but a hard, greyish flooring was below our feet. An official-looking woman approached us. She had her blonde hair pulled back tight, and was wearing a suit.
"So far, 8 people were killed," she said, referring to the accident.
I stepped in and defended Chris, telling her that it wasn't his fault and the track had been corroded.

Then, we were back in that room we were in originally. In a way, it now reminded me of a kitchen. Chris got on the phone, a land line, and was talking to someone about how he would be in San Fransisco in a month. I then remembered that he was moving to Chile in a month (he is in waking life). I started to feel defeated. I couldn't believe I had forgotten that.

    9. Brief Lucidity and Some Fragments

      by , 09-25-2011 at 03:25 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

All I really recall about this dream is it being like a video game. First, I was in a classroom. It looked like one of my elementary school classrooms.

I was in a house at night, and I had to watch out for something in there.

I also remember riding in a car with a couple of other people. Something had happened as to where when we got mad, we'd grow these insane beards or mustaches. Wtf? I wanted to fix that because it was silly.

There was a football stadium in there somewhere too.

      ~

I was outside in what I think was a football stadium. The sky was very blue and it was daytime. There were other people around as well. They looked kind of cartoony.

I spontaneously just knew it was a dream. I flew into the air, but not too high. I wanted to let the dream play out to see what happened.

But of course, that didn't happen. I was then in a mall, watching people walk by. I decided I wanted to try to visit Hyu again. I walked around, searching for a wall or something I could draw a portal on. I found a pillar, and just as I was about to draw the portal, I thought of how Hyu teleports to get places, and how much faster that is. I decided to give that a whirl.

Only problem with that was I had no idea how to even begin to do that. I stood by the pillar and saw many people walking by. I though of my destination, though all I knew about that was it was wherever Hyu was. I thought about that for a little bit, and things started fading. I was losing the dream because I was just standing around doing nothing. I started to walk around, but everything went black.

      ~

I was then somewhere else. I tried to count my fingers, and was coming up with 5, sometimes 6, but I thought I had just miscounted those times. I tried to make an extra finger grow out of my hand, but couldn't. I had an inkling I was still dreaming, though.

Ugh. I need to get my dreaming skills back up to where they used to be. It's so frustrating.

EDIT: My mom just called me and told me she had her first lucid dream where she had control! YAY!! I'm proud of her!!

Also, I was her dream guide! She said that I was in all 5 lucids she had this morning, and I told her that she was dreaming, she could do whatever she wanted, how to switch dreams, and how to reality check!!

Just had to add that...I thought that was so cool!!!

    10. Weird Hospital Lucidity

      by , 09-15-2011 at 02:31 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I was in a hospital, though the colors were a little weird for a hospital. Instead of there being white everywhere, there were more earthy tones; I especially remember dark reds and browns.

I was getting some procedure done to my right eye. I don't remember them putting me under, I just remember being under and in a dream state (within my dream). I said to my mom in the dream state
"Doing something to my eye freaks me out."
I tried to feel my physical body to see what they were doing to my eye, but I couldn't. Thank goodness for that...that probably would have really freaked me out.

I knew I was dreaming now, and decided to fly. I flew up into the clear blue sky, relishing how it felt. I spotted someone hang gliding above me, and wanted to get up to their height. I flew even higher. I remember an old woman being with me.

I was then freaked out by the extremity of my altitude. I was really close to leaving the atmosphere, which shouldn't have scared me in the dream state, but it did. I thought to myself that I wanted to be back down onto the Earth, and then I was.

I was then waking up in the hospital. They wanted to draw more blood. I started freaking the fuck out, telling them no over and over and squirming and fighting. All the nurses, who were female, were trying to get me under control. One had this thing that looked like a hole puncher that they were going to use to draw my blood. She threatened to use it on my back. I got up and darted out of the room, tearing through the hospital. I encountered no other people.

I was then outside, and decided to fly again. I took off, and noticed I was outside my house. I decided to try to do something else. I wanted to see my friend J. I landed on the roof on the side of my house, and composed myself enough to start drawing a portal. I kept whispering, repeating
"I want to see J, I want to see J..."
I drew the portal on the roof, and when I felt it was ready, I jumped through. I was then in a dark, damp room. I felt a plant's tendrils all around me. I then saw myself in 3rd person being overcome and entwined with the tendrils.
I then started to hear the nurses' voices echoing around me. I remember one saying something about bronchitis that wasn't in the lungs.
    11. Dr. House Diagnosis, Lucid Sportscar Transformation, and Being a Scientist

      by , 09-14-2011 at 03:25 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I was in a hospital. Dr. House was there, and told me that my feet weren't getting enough blood, and that's why they hurt a lot (they don't hurt in waking life). He said we should amputate them because they were basically useless, and I said no.

I then was somewhere else, in a room somewhere, and Dr. House walked in with 2 prosthetic legs that looked completely different from one another. He was still using his cane. He sat down on a chair by the door. The reason both of his legs were prosthetic was because of some mistake made in trying to treat the original blood clot in his thigh.

Then, I saw a regular customer at the coffee shop I work at sitting in a chair. He too had 2 prosthetic legs.

I looked down at my own bare feet. The skin looked red, like they were inflamed or something. I still refused to get the surgery. I needed my feet.

      ~

I was somewhere, but I can't remember exactly where. Something did seem a little off, however. I decided to do a reality check. I looked at my hand, and my index finger looked disconnected from my hand. I tried pulling on it, and it stretched kind of like bubble gum. It's a dream!

This dream already seemed pretty stable, so I didn't do much stabilization. I took off to fly a bit, as per usual. I looked up toward the blue, cloud-spotted sky as I took off, and saw what looked like the tops of telephone poles and wires disconnected from the rest of the poles. It was like they were floating. Weird.

I was then on the ground, standing in a driveway next to a drab, silver car. I looked away for a second and imagined it being a neon yellow. I looked back, and it had completely transformed into a shiny, sleek, new yellow sports car. I hopped in, and gunned it down the road. I watched my speedometer climb up to 70, and I kept pressing down on the gas. I was going pretty fast, and, it being a dream, didn't have to worry about any cops! I remember passing many cars as I zoomed down the road in my shiny new sports car.

I remember being back in the driveway, and transforming the car again. This time, it turned green for a second before it turned yellow.

I also flew again at some point.

      ~

I was on some team that did lots of chemistry and other science experiments. We were outside somewhere, like in a mix between a forest and a cave. I picked up what looked like a small ant farm with no ants in it. It was important for some reason.

This dream went on for a bit, and I remember trying to get the other scientists to listen to me. That's all I remember, though.

    12. The Lady and the Sharks, and a Fit of Rage

      by , 08-18-2011 at 05:49 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

Something made me go lucid, I think it was my cell phone again; I was examining it, and the battery kept going more charged, then less charged every time I looked at it. I also thought it was weird that it was still charged at all, since it had been on for 5 days at the airport. I examined my hands and counted 6 fingers on one of them. I counted them again with the same result. I tried to show someone who was with me that I could make more fingers appear out of my hand, though it didn't work. I started to feel anxious, and I lost the dream. -_-

      ~

I was in what looked like a hospital. I was next to a gurney, and I was standing on a black rubber mat (like the ones you see in the kitchens at restaurants). The walls were white, as was the tiled floor. I was standing next to someone, a lady I think.

I then saw sharks swimming under the tiled floor, which was apparently transparent. If you weren't on a rubber mat, the sharks could get you. I was temporarily on the floor, and a shark quickly went after me. I jumped on another mat, and the shark swam under it. It couldn't get me anymore.

The lady who had been standing next to me had a system figured out to where the sharks couldn't get her. It worked like this: She would put some unused staples through one of the holes on the rubber mats, and the sharks would leave her alone, even if she wasn't standing on a mat. She wouldn't share this system with me or anyone else, and I was angry because of it. That wasn't fair.

Then, I was in a grocery store, walking down one of the aisles which contained a couple of shelves of coffee mugs among other things. I apparently worked there, but wasn't on the clock. I was still angry about the lady and the sharks. I saw a guy I know in waking life, Mason, walk down the aisle as well. At first I wasn't sure if it was him. He was wearing a black shirt with white lettering. He almost looked a little younger than he really is. We didn't really talk to each other, but we looked at each other. He had a creepy-looking smile on his face.

Anyway, I was still really angry, like I said before. I was raging angry, in fact. I think the lady was supposed to be my boss at the grocery store as well, and she was doing other extremely unfair things, though I can't remember specifics. When no employees were around, I started to tear all the coffee mugs off the shelves. I would grab them and pull them off angrily and quickly, feeling more and more satisfied as each stack of mugs fell to the floor. However, none of them broke, but I didn't seem to think this was strange.

As soon as all the mugs were off the shelves, I left an anonymous note, though I don't remember what it said. I then walked away.

I was then talking to one of the employees about what happened. I casually asked if they had heard about the coffee mugs. They said yes, they had. I asked who cleaned up the mess.
"Tony," they replied. (Tony is a guy I know in waking life who actually does work at a grocery store).
I imagined Tony cleaning up the mugs.
I also talked to a couple of other people about the mugs, asking if they had heard about it, or letting the person I was talking to bring it up themselves. I wasn't about to give myself away.

I then noticed that I had posted pictures of the note I wrote on the internet. The note looked like a placard. Why I did this was beyond me, because it seemed like a dead giveaway. I immediately took the pictures down, thinking to myself
      "I'm incriminating myself..."

    13. Lengthy Lucid: A Freeing Flight

      by , 08-15-2011 at 04:20 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I was sitting in a room on a couch. It slightly resembled the living room in my parents' new house in Oregon. I was messing with my phone, which I was having trouble getting to work; I couldn't get my screen to come on properly. I remembered it was because I dropped it beside some train tracks at the airport (that really did happen yesterday in waking life). I then thought it was weird that I had my phone at all, since the airport hasn't sent it back to me yet.

Finally, I got the phone to work. The battery was almost dead. I looked through my texts, and saw some messages from my friend Tori. The text said something about a moth. Hmm...weird again. I looked away from the phone and looked back, and Tori's picture had changed. I then decided to jump into the air and see if I flew. I jumped, and floated. I'm dreaming!

The next thing I knew I was in the driveway of my house in my hometown. I saw my old cat, Ziggy, next to me. I wanted him to fly with me, so I told him to come along. I jumped into the air to fly, and was having some trouble staying in the air. I landed in the back yard in the grass. I examined my hands, and only counted 5 fingers on each. I tried a couple more times, but with the same outcome: 5 fingers. Oh well, I still knew I was dreaming. I can't fly in waking life, unfortunately.

The wind then started to pick up. I knew it was my chance to fly. I jumped into the wind, and sure enough, I was in the air, soaring up, up, and up. I was riding the wind, and it was the most amazing feeling ever. I could feel it blowing around me as I flew over my neighbor's house. It was so amazing!

Then, I remember being back in the living room. I lost my lucidity for a bit. I was walking, and there was some older lady behind me kissing up my neck. No thanks. I got away from her, and talked to someone on my phone. Other things happened, but I can't recall exactly what.

Something then triggered my lucidity again. As soon as I realized I was dreaming, I did another hand examination/finger count. Still 5 fingers on each hand. I kept examining my hands so I could stabalize the dream.

I decided to try to draw and use a portal, since it had been so long since I've done that. I tried to think of someone to try to visit, and I decided to try to see Hyu. I walked up to a wooden wall in the living room and drew a huge circle. It appeared as it usually does. I then wrote 'Hyu' in the middle of the portal, and started trying to shade the portal in with my hand. I then realized I had forgotten to voice my intent, so I did.
"I want to see Hyu," I said.
I noticed that the portal wasn't filling in as it usually does. It was smearing the name I had written in it. Hmm, odd. I decided to try to jump through it anyway. I headed through the portal.

I was then taken back to the living room. The portal failed. Lame. I tried again, and drew a smaller one. I don't remember what happened after I jumped through that one, but I know it too failed.

I then remember looking through what looked like the bonus room doors at my hometown house. They started to become transparent, and I phased through them.

Then, I was outside in the driveway again. It was getting dark outside. I decided that more flying was in order. I did another hand examination, mainly to keep the dream this time, but I counted my fingers out of curiosity. Still 5 on each hand. I jumped into the air and flew. I looked up at the sky, and noticed it was very cloudy. I could see very few stars. I flew over the roof of my house, and tried to see how high I could fly. I kept going up, but knew that losing the visual I had of the ground below would make me lose my dream. I stopped going up and kept flying around quickly. It felt so freeing! I looked down at the roof of mine and my neighbor's house and the trees. The trees looked especially vivid. It was beautiful.

I then started to go towards the holly bushes in our back yard. I wanted to try something else, since all I had been doing was flying, and racked my brain trying to think of something. I then felt everything dimming, and I felt anxious and tried to examine my hands. As I was flying over the holly bushes, I woke up.

Yay for being lucid again, and not just for a few seconds!! I was so happy to finally have another lengthy lucid. Now, I've just gotta get my portals back up to par.

    14. Trouble at Dakota's, Strange Lucid Moment, and Some Others

      by , 07-24-2011 at 04:09 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I was at Dakota's house at night. I was the only one there (his aunt and uncle had gone on vacation. Dakota had too, but he went somewhere different). I was sitting in his room (didn't look like his real room, it was a lot bigger), watching TV. Dakota had told me I could chill there while everyone was away, though technically, I wasn't supposed to be there.

I had fallen asleep, and I woke up. I heard car doors slamming outside, so I figured I probably needed to leave, so I headed towards the door of his room.

All the sudden, a recording of Dakota's voice boomed over a loudspeaker. It said something about his aunt and uncle coming home. I started to move more quickly towards the back door of the house so I could get out before his aunt and uncle caught me.

It was too late, though. I walked outside, and there they were. I was very ashamed of myself. I shouldn't have been there. I went to my car. Dakota's uncle came up to me. I said to him
"I want to redeem myself in your eyes. I'm sorry."
      He seemed pleased with that.

I then drove off through his neighborhood. It was lit only by the lights of the houses.

      ~

I was again at Dakota's house. It was morning, and Dakota and I had been asleep in sleeping bags on the floor. His head was facing my head.

His Aunt then came in with a bunch of kids. They sat at the kitchen table. That morning, they were leaving for Oklahoma. I got up and walked by the table. The kids were all playing Scrabble. There were also toys on the table, though I can't remember specifics.

They eventually filed out the door and got in their red mini van (can't remember the type). They came back a little later because they forgot something.

      ~

I was laying down on some sort of bed or table. An Indian-looking man with dark skin and a black mustache had a small buzz saw blade attached to a handle above my neck, though it wasn't moving. There was a dial ingrained in the left side of my neck that the buzz saw's blades fit perfectly into, and the man was going to help me by using the saw on the dial. I'm not sure what it was he was supposed to be helping me with, though. I think I was hurt or ill, and it was supposed to help me to heal.

At first, he jokingly got out a HUGE buzz saw and started using it on my neck. It hurt, and I kept telling him to stop. He stopped and laughed as he took the small buzz saw and gently started to use it to turn the dial in my neck. It felt a little uncomfortable. The man was very kind to me as he did this. He talked to me gently, though I can't remember what he said.

      ~

I was on the beach at night with my mom. We had our cat, Pounce, who is very ill in waking life. I'm not sure why we had her, but she got away from us and ran all over the beach. My mom told me to get her. She ran too fast, however. She then ran down some stairs into a men's restroom. At first, my mom wasn't sure we should go in there to get her because it was the men's room, but I convinced her that we could. We went in there after the cat, checking all the stalls.

      ~

I was in the car when I became lucid by counting my fingers, though I wasn't totally convinced yet. I confirmed it by making extra fingers appear out of my hands.

Then, I hung out the passenger's side window naked as the car drove itself. I felt the wind rush past me as I went. Why I decided to do this with my lucid dream is beyond me.

    15. Flight Through the Picture and Car Troubles

      by , 07-21-2011 at 07:36 PM (Krista's Dream Journal)
      Dream - Lucid

I woke up and looked at my phone to see what time it was. The screen looked funny; it was all blue with some weird word on it. I dismissed it at first, then decided to do a reality check. I looked away from the phone then back at it. The word had changed into another word, and continued to change as I was staring at it. I'm dreaming!

The next thing I knew, I was standing in front of a giant picture of a sunny day at the park. Many people were in it, and they were moving around like the pictures do in Harry Potter. I flew through the picture and into the scene.

I landed and wandered around. I counted my fingers on both hands. I was getting 5 each time. I finally got six after counting them twice. I ran through the park until I met a girl. She had short, light auburn hair.

"What's you name?", I asked her.
"Kim ____!", she replied (she told me her last name but I can't remember it right now. It was something like Hora? Not quite sure.)

I ran with Kim through the crowded park for a few seconds. I focused on my hands so I wouldn't lose the dream.

However, I then had another FA. I became lucid again, but it only lasted a few seconds.

      ~

I was somewhere with Dakota. He had kissed me again, like in one of my previous dreams. He then whispered in my ear
      "I can't stay over tonight."

      ~

I was driving down a road close to my neighborhood at night. I was approaching a red light, so I put on my brake. My car slowed down, but not much. I noticed that the brake had gotten stuck to the floor. Remembering what Ryan told me awhile back about how to fix your brakes if it does that, I tried his method: I stuck my foot under the brake to try to get it to come back up, but the pedal broke. I touched it, and it broke in half. Well, shit. I tried to brake anyway, but it wouldn't work.

I was fast approaching the light and had to think fast. By the light, two police cars were stopped and had their lights flashing. I turned on my emergency lights and honked my horn as I maneuvered in between the two police cars. I finally slowed enough by a curb and stopped. One of the officers came up behind my car and asked what was wrong. I picked up the busted brake pedal off the floor and told him it went out.
