    1. First reality check induced Lucid.

      by , 09-12-2012 at 09:49 PM (Zechariah's Dream Journal)
So, I've had quite a few lucid dreams before, but I've just recently gotten into the habit of holding my nostrals together every so often to check if I can still breath. I thought it was a little bit silly until last night.

I was sitting in my house, it was darker than usual. I plugged my nose just for the heck of it, and... was still breathing. "Woah, that was easy." I thought. I stood up, thinking about what I should do now. I stepped over to my bed to see if I would see myself laying there still. Unfortunetly I didn't, but my wife was in her place in the bed like usual. She woke up and asked me what I was doing, I told her dream character, I'm dreaming babe- just gonna try some stuff out. I wanted the entire room to light up, so I thought of LIGHT! The room didn't necissarily light up, but I looked to my right, and outside of the window it was a very- very bright day all of a sudden. I looked at my computer to notice if the writing was morphed, you know how they say that if you look at words in a dream and then look again- they won't be the same usually? That played a number on my brain, I looked at my computers texts and it was literally all hyroglyphs. lol. At first I was dissapointed because I wanted to check the tasks of the month of dreamviews, then I instantly remembered- that's stupid. I can't check real webpages in my dreams. (Haha)

I walked over to my dresser and thought about what I wanted to do. My favorite form in any dream world is a feral beast so I decided to attempt a transformation. My hands turned into long claws and grew fur, but that was about it. For some reason my mind told me that it wasn't up for the full transformation at the moment so I decided to go outside. I flew up and phased through my roof. Once I was on the outside I noticed that I had gone too high. Sometimes when I become lucid in dreams, I dart off into the sky and it doesn't allow my mind to comprehend any of the landscape, so it loses my dream world and cuts off lucidity, so I feel back onto my roof and tried to focus. I was thinking of just sitting on my roof and meditating for a moment. I had the un-nerving feeling that i was almost out of time. I don't remember much after the roof, because shortly after that I had a false awakening where I woke up and told my wife I had a lucid dream, then wrote it down in my phone.

Later I woke up and realized that I hadn't wrote it down in my phone, I was peaved. But altogether, I had a good night. I'm going to continue practicing reality checks from now on, definitly.

    3. Bigger on the inside.

      by , 09-11-2012 at 09:38 PM (Zechariah's Dream Journal)
Last night was pretty fun. My friend Nicholas was in my dream. He was showing me his video collection. He put some type of high tech disc into this DVD looking disc slot, and the machine opened up into a whole seven foot shelf stacked full with his game collection.
I began looking through it, and said "Wow, that's a nifty ass disc you got there. It's so small!" We looked towards each other and said "Ha, it's bigger on the inside." at the same time. For those of you who don't know, it's a Doctor Who reference.

We looked through the collection and put in a game. The game like usual in my dreams put my mind at the controls. It was a very interesting play, to be honest. It was a mixture of a few games put together including one of my favorites, League of Legends. I was running around as one of the characters, Darius. Nicholas showed me a few tricks in the game, one of them being an item that gave your fighter some super badass wings that added to your attack a whole bunch.

After that I found myself in another scene. This scene is hard to describe, but I'll do my best. I was walking on a scaffold surrounded by absolute void darkness- except for a room that I could see about ten feet above the scaffoled floor. It was lit, but I wasn't at it's level. On the scaffold with me was a little tinker robot. One that you would see on a video game as one of the low leveled enemys that dimly walked around and was defeated with one hit. I walked up to it, it stood about one foot tall- and I gave it a smack. It fell over and began short circuiting and sparking all over the ground so I back up right before it made a small explosion and into the blackness. I walked around and another one appeared around the edge. They didn't bother me, they were just kinda funny looking. I decided that I'd had it with this weird scaffold scene, so I tried to climb into the room up above. I managed to do that, but I can't stress enough how hard and exhausting it was for some reason, lol. And it made me terribly nervous because I didn't want to fall into whatever was down below, it was absolutely black and I knew that it was a very far fall.

Once I got into the room, 'physically' exhausted- I saw a man talking to another man and woman. It was a well lit room with sofas and a few decoritive plants, a nice carpet and some paintings. At this point I thought to myself, am I dreaming? Because I've been practicing awareness, asking myself that question often enough in the day time. I had the feeling that I was, but the man talking distracted me. He began talking about how I was a lucid dreamer and that I needed to tell everyone about all my experiences. But he said it in a strange way that irritated me, and I was still so exhausted that I just walked out.

That was the end of the night as far as I remember. I'm glad that I even thought to check myself in a dream. Unfortunetly my mind didn't follow through this time, but I'm getting there.
    4. A monster from my childhood. The crazy lady was right this time.

      by , 09-09-2012 at 09:01 PM (Zechariah's Dream Journal)
This dream started out down the street from my house. I was going for a walk around the block like I do nearly every day. Nothing seemed out of place, and the begining has very little to do with the rest of the dream. I walked my elementry school that's down the street from my house, and as I passed the front office- my oldest friend Marykate Pennington walked by on the other side of the road. I said Hey! what's going on? She said Hey! I just got back from Washington. And she started telling me about her trip. (Everything seemed pretty accurate, she had been living in Washington for a few months.)
We walked down my street and I felt very very weak for some reason. I told her to go to my house and ask my mom to make her some food and we'll catch up in a bit, she didn't look so good either.
I walked past my wife and her sister Amie laying on the sidewalk on the corner accross the street from the school, and I layed down next to her. We talked for a minute, and I fell asleep even though I wasn't sleeping. She poked me a couple times to see if I was awake, and I was awake then but I was going to turn around and yell BOO! But I tried to jump up and found I was too weak at this point. I lifted my head but then it feel back to the ground. Then I laughed and told her what I was trying to do and that I didn't feel good, then we began walking back to my house. On the way back down my street, I noticed that a few of my neighbors small brick walls had been broken on the edges. A few bricks layed on the sidewalk with no explination, like something big had plowed through them.
As I got closer to my house, I noticed a short elderly lady standing in front of the church across the street from my house. (My house in real life is on the corner surrounded by three churches and a school. It's a weird corner.)
The lady was pointing up in the tree shouting, "MONSTER, MONSTER, IT'S THERE! IN THE TREE! Why wouldn't anyone listen?!"
I started walking towards her while looking into the tree, and just then a huge green worm like creature; probably twenty feet long and three feet wide leaped from the tree and with supernatural speed ran through the church's courtyard. "What the fuck!?" I yelled, still weak- I was holding on to things to keep myself moving. It circled the church and rapidly multiplied into an enormous green Cthulhu looking beast. As big as the building and much too quick for anyone around it to escape. It had dozens, maybe a hundred limbs and each was as big or bigger than the first worm I saw. It made me remember a dream that I had when I was little, I have seen what that worm was doing before.
But in the dream years ago, nobody found out what it was. There was a mysterious death in the church yard with a huge grooved ditch going through the grass. I now realized what it was, and I knew the old lady was aware of that past dream as if it was a reality. I looked up at the beast as it flailed it's limbs and grabbed another man and woman right behind me and slammed the woman into the cement directly in front of me. I knew her, she was the mother of my next door neighbor. It pained me to see but I had to go, she was dead. My wife and I reached my house and informed my family. I was standing in my kitchen panicking when I saw icons come up in front of my face like a game. I needed to choose and option of what to do next, but I didn't know what to do. They didn't even have names on them. That was the last thing I remember about this dream. It was fucking epic now that I'm awake thinking about it, but very intense while I was in it.

One thing that's baffling me is how my mind continued a story from so many years ag at that church- and randomly brought it into a huge monsterous conclusion last night. It's beautiful.
    5. A weird test.

      by , 09-07-2012 at 10:33 PM (Zechariah's Dream Journal)
Last night, I had a dream that I recieved a weird and eerie message from an unknown sender instructing me to do a series of random things for reasons unknown. Such as, to go to this specific place. Or find that specific thing. Now that I'm awake, I don't remember directly being informed of any threats- but I knew that the thing that was leading me was supernatural, and I was aware of fatal consequence if I were to fail. Also, I was aware of the possibility that once I finished doing these things that I would confront the one giving instructions. I had an image in my head of a cloaked shadow-like mass and I knew that was the mystery transmitter's image for some reason. Unfortunetly I don't remember exactly what the tasks entailed, but I remember my family being around me telling me not to proceed, it was too dangerous.
I made a decision to go along with it, not because I was being forced, but because I wanted to hunt this thing that seemed to have so much power over me and beat it. The two scenes I remember out of my search for it were both very cloudy and dim. I found a small abandoned house with old decaying furniture and other items filling it up. Like a house you would see on that show "Horders", but if the horder lived on a creepy coast line, then died- and left the house there for fifty years. Tons of cobwebs and annoying obstacles. I remember rummaging through them. I found a box, but don't remember what was in it. The other scene I remember, I was walking down a rocky edge of the coast that was right outside of that house. It was pretty, no sun was out and it was raining a bit.

I eventually got to the end of the tasks, and I remember looking at my computer screen again. At the end, it turned out that I was welcomed into some sort of strange leading order of the dream realm by my tester. The person who secretly vouched for me to be tested was my sister Rose, so she knew what was going on the whole time. Back at my computer, the screen was at this website, dreamviews- with a few minor differences. And my name "Nerq" changed from it's orange color, to a weird purple color.

Now... I know that it sounds really boring, a supernatural being made me go to a couple places and then accepted me into a dream order on... the internet. But it didn't seem so dull in the dream. I was so proud of myself for some reason. Ophelia, the staff member I talked to a while back on here was part of this weird dream order that sent the test. I thought that was kinda funny when I woke up.

Later that night after my WBTB alarm, I had a second smaller dream. This one was less intense. I met my co-worker Jeremy at a burger place that he liked. A few of his friend's had come, I recognized them as if I had met them before and they recognized me the same even though I've never seen them before in my life. We were celebrating Jeremy's gay wedding that was coming up. I sat down and met his one of his new friends, and that guy went to get the food at the counter. I could tell Jeremy looked nervous, like he wasn't having a good time. It looked like he was unhappy about something, so I tried to calm his nervs about the huge changes going on. Talked a little about my own marriage and then I left. That was the end of the dream. This was also kind of funny because Jeremy isn't gay in real life.
    6. Lucid success for a moment!

      by , 09-06-2012 at 01:58 AM (Zechariah's Dream Journal)
The lucid part of this dream didn't last as long as I wanted it too, but it was so refreshing. The dream setting started out pretty interesting- this is an old T.V. show so I don't know if anyone will understand the reference. There was a Jackie Chan Adventures themed fight going on in my back yard that led to my lucidity this time. Before going to sleep, I was thinking a lot about that show hoping to maybe get to re-live some of my childhood dreams about it. Yesterday I looked it up and watched the final episode out of nostalgia. During this fight one of the main characters Tohru busted the brick wall around my house, but I didn't mind... because it was Tohru.
Anyways, a little time had past and I ran outside of my gate to see where the commotion had gone. I guessed that they had moved the battle to another part of the town. At that point I was put in a bad mood, I realized I didn't get to use any of the talismans or powers that were being traded off by the warriors- and all I was stuck with were the awed by-standers, and these two random school kids that kept on walking around asking if they could trade some coins for something. They had asked everyone around here multiple times throughout the dream, I have no idea what that was about. I decided to ask them what they were trying to buy off of everyone, they answered probably six times without saying the same answer once. The school kid's answers, mixed with the thought of wishing I would have used some of the Jackie Chan Adventures talismans instantly made me realize that I was in a dream. The kids were still trying to talk to me but I flew up and away, realizing it didn't matter. Just then I noticed I began to fly too fast, maybe I was too excited to start off without routing myself in the dream first. So I began to fall back down so I could calmly get used to dream realm without losing grip so quickly. That's where it went bad. I started losing control of where I could look and where I could move. I think that this could be attributed to the state of my sleep, sometimes when I'm dreaming- I begin to lose control and vividness if my physical body isn't feeling well. I got to the ground and found myself in a place that I now will always remember. I've been there countless times in other dreams, but I didn't notice how repeditive it was until now. It's a very beautiful and colorful forest with hundred-feet-tall trees that always(!) forms itself if I begin a flying dream near my house where I'm lacking in control still. Some green trees, some red trees, and some other small variations, it's beautiful. What's strange to me is this time, I flew down to the ground and the last thing I saw as the dream showed me my focus wasn't cutting it yet- in the forest was a submarine that I've seen there before. The last time I saw it, I had to look around quite a bit first- but there it was. Half submerged into the ground surrounded by shrubs and rocks. I thought it was so strange that I forgot this place. I guess it's my brains way of telling me goodbye. I have made it past that forest before, but it takes a lot and this dream wasn't up for it. I had one other noteably awesome dream after this one that I'll write down in a bit.

    7. The 'I should punch you in the face' saga continues?

      by , 09-03-2012 at 03:43 AM (Zechariah's Dream Journal)
I also had a second dream this morning that I didn't have time to record. It was very short. My brother Jeremy and I were standing at a kitchen counter. He was making food, I guess it was his kitchen- even though it was just a random dream kitchen. I looked to my left and an old aquantance of ours walked up and stood next to me. I remembered that I didn't like him very much, and that our other good friend Bob owed him a punch to the face that he never ended up recieving. I remembered telling Bob a long time ago that if Bob didn't want to, that guy was enough of a douche to deserve a good punch and even I would give it to him if need be. So I stood there thinking about taking the swing...

The guy turned to face me, and his character changed into someone I'd never met before. A somewhat stout looking asian guy. In the dream I thought to myself, oh... the lighting must have played tricks on me. Now that I think about it, it wasn't the lighting- just a dream.

Again, yesterday was a rough day. Hopefully punching people won't be the theme of my dreams tonight.

    8. My beautiful bay area.

I was walking down a sidewalk that lead all the way around a large circular bay. The area was an industrious kind, with average sized sky scrapers and corperation buildings. The immediate view made the dream what it turned out to be.
I knew I was in my head, but this place was too serene and beautiful to lose any surreal value. Lifting up in the air, I looked around to see a cruise ship docked in the water bellow me, and I decided to warm up with the simpler push and pull movements. I reached my hand towards the ship to direct of movement and it began to slide forward and gain speed- all until it crashed on the other side of the bay, shattering a wooden dock and part of the sidewalk it was connected to. So I flew over the clearest of layered waters I’ve seen first hand, towards a building that needed to be changed, all the while trying to figure how I was going to change it, and attempting to convince myself I already knew how to change it.
Because of the amplified thought process dreams bring, if you find a reason to believe that you are already capable of accomplishing a certain feat, you’ll be suprised at what revalations you might have in the mechanics of getting it done. Is that an answer to induction of revelation?- and is it the entrance to a unlocking a larger percentage of the brain mass we don’t consciously use?
