    1. Science Class/Mages in Red Robes

      by , 01-19-2016 at 10:29 AM
I woke up in the night and did a brief WBTB before going back to sleep.

The first dream was lucid one. I found myself back in my secondary school, walking down a corridor to a science class. It was basically my old school days, with the same people I went to school with as teenagers. I forgot the tasks, and instead of doing anything crazy, I just relived my old science class by joining in with an experiment with a couple of guys I used to mess around in class with. The dream carried on until the end of the lesson, and I remember putting away the apparatus in the corridor outside.

After this was a non-lucid fragment. Something about Bruce Willis. I also remember seeing a girl I used to go to school with. She looked older, and slightly different. I can't remember what she was doing though.

Another non-lucid fragment: I am in a GTA-style game. I have to shoot a man down who is stood on a bridge above me in the streets. I see him as a red dot on my radar, and I manage to do it.

The another lucid dream: I am a "mage" in a D&D-style game, but instead of being set in a fantasy world, I am just in the normal world I live in. I come to this realization while sat on a bench in town. The weather is dark and wet, like it's just been raining. As I sit there, I see another mage in front of me. He wears red robes that cover his face. He runs at me. I fire a magical arrow at him and he doubles over and collapses.

Then I have two mages in red robes running at me, but this time I am helping out a "fighter", who is just a normal guy in a T-shirt nearby. While he fights a mage, I take the other one out and try to aim another arrow at the mage fighting the fighter without hitting the fighter. I'm still sitting on the bench while this happens. That's the point where I woke up.

    2. Weird eighties toy

      by , 01-18-2016 at 01:01 AM
      Some fractured recall last night.

The first part was a lucid dream, about having a "day off" (according to my notes) and travelling to a town in Cornwall with a group of people.

I become lucid, and I decide to enter someone's home. I walk into the living room and I notice one of those toys from the eighties which is like a viewer for picture slides. Just as I'm about to go pick it up, a man walks in and asks what I'm doing here. The house belongs to a young woman who lives there. I tell him that I know the woman and it's okay, and he seems convinced by this. He leaves. I pick up the eighties slide viewer and look at the images. All I see are really old black and white pictures of two elderly, bespectacled men talking to each other.

I lose lucidity at some point and end up dreaming about being in the military. We are simulating a terrorist attack and I have to crouch in position somewhere. I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing, so I get up and leave, which messes up the entire operation.

Then I had another lucid dream, this time set in a multi-storey car park. Some of these people are ordinary members of the public, some are these strange people in an orange puffa jacket uniform. I gain lucidity and I decide to try throwing them into walls and out off the highest point of the car park. They just get up and smile at me.

The final dream is non-lucid. I'm in an unfamiliar house. In one room is one of my old teachers from secondary school who I didn't like. Around him are "family members" - a couple of men who are supposed to be my uncles but don't look anything like them. I try to eavesdrop on their conversation, as it's supposed to be important but I don't catch anything.

Then I am approached by some kid I used to know at school who is supposed to be my cousin (but isn't in real life). He wants me to figure out what they are up to, as it's supposed to be important.

    3. Meeting the neighbours (by breaking and entering their homes)

      by , 01-16-2016 at 06:01 PM
The first thing I remember is a non-lucid fragment where the Queen is giving a speech in my town centre. I got to meet her afterwards, and although I can't remember what she said, I remember that her voice was different in conversation than when she was giving a speech.

Then I had a fragment where I was at a workout class. I'm late, and I join the class half-way through an abs workout. I have to assemble this device to do the workout.

The next thing I remember is suddenly being in my kitchen, still in my workout gear. I don't know how I got here, and all I know is that I need to get back to the class. I run out of the house, but I have no idea how to get to the class.

This is where I get lucid. I walk back into the house and realize I am dreaming. I leave the house and walk into the middle of the road, which is empty of people. I cannot remember any of the tasks or goals I am supposed to be doing, but I have to do something. So I decide to try and break into the house of the people living across the road and see what happens.

I head over and end up entering the house by a door in the side (that doesn't exist in real life). Inside, instead of someone's home, I see a dark, poorly-lit bar with wood furnishings. I approach the bar and some people come out. They turn out to be vikings. Two viking men and woman come out. I think I tried talking to one of the men, but he seemed more preoccupied with a couple of vitamin bottles that he pulled out from behind the bar. He doesn't seem to pleased with this, but is barely taking any notice of me. I leave the building before things get nasty. Then I woke up.

    4. Action on a building site.

      by , 01-12-2016 at 10:58 AM
Woke up at 4:40am without any dream recall and decided to start a WBTB for about 15 minutes.

My recall after that was fragmented, but there was still some lucidity.

There was a short lucid dream where I was walking through my city.

I woke up, then I actually WILDed into the next one: This was another short lucid dream where I was walking past the local University with crowds of students. People were handing flyers out to the students.

Then a longer lucid dream where I am on a building site which seems to be a series of platforms over the sea, with scaffolding extending high up into the air. In the dream, the people working on this platform were my enemies for some reason. When I became lucid, instead of hiding from them I kicked one of them into the sea while he was carrying a bag of something (cement?). Then I climbed to the top of the scaffolding, and got very nervous when I realized that I was stood high above the sea on a plank of wood on flimsy scaffolding. That's the point where I woke up.

Then there was a non-lucid. I'm in the gym. I'm working out alongside some guy who is supposed to be a manager at work, but I don't recognize him from real life. He is hogging the bench with a lot of his work stuff - folders, papers, etc. The place just feels crowded, and I just want to bench press in peace.

Finally, there was a dream in which I am talking to a woman from work, but I don't remember what was said.

    5. Health spa

      by , 02-07-2015 at 08:30 PM
      Starting with the non-lucid part:

I vaguely remember something about reading the Necronomicon. Then I woke up at 3am.

After performing WBTB for ten minutes, I fell back to sleep and had the following non-lucid dream:

I'm cleaning out a cupboard, while chatting to my Dad about some problem he is having. I get up and leave to go to the pub, but I agree to continue our conversation by mobile when I'm there.

I get to the pub and meet some people from work, some of whom look a bit different (a woman with spiky hair now has long, straight hair for example). The pub looks like a place I hung out in as a student.

We go outside, and I call my Dad on my mobile, but instead of giving him advice, I start mocking him with silly voices. Although I'm being a dick, this makes everyone laugh.

We all leave, but we end up stumbling down a bank that led down to a main road where I used to walk home from school as a kid. We are told by someone from the pub that the place is out of bounds for safety reasons, but we go down there anyway.

I carry on alone down the road. Ahead of me, one of the houses I used to walk past is being cleared out, possibly for demolition. The road in front of it full of debris – timber, furniture and assorted rubbish. In front of the house I see three schoolboys playing among the debris. As I get closer, I notice that someone has lit a fire among the rubbish. I consider calling the fire brigade, but then I notice two men in council uniforms working near the fire, and I assume this is part of their work.

After this, I somehow end up in some colourful videogame with late nineties graphics, doing long-jumps onto ramps.

I go from here into what resembles a luxurious health spa. I walk into a section where there is a jacuzzi. One young man is sat in there – he looks like he has just come in from playing a sport of some kind.

Then a woman who I have a bit of a crush on – lets call her Sue – enters in a white spa attendant uniform and starts attending to the young man. Neither of them notice me standing awkwardly behind them.

The young man starts complaining that his back is hurting, and that he would appreciate a back rub. Sue responds with “Aaaaww” and walks over to him. I walk off to another section of the spa, muttering something about how some people have all the bloody luck.

I only get a few metres away to an opening that leads into a smaller adjoining room. I'm stood in front of a towel rack, drying my hands. In the other room, I notice an assorted group of strangers sat around another bath. They all look up at me.

This is where I got lucid:

As I stood, drying my hands, I looked back into the other room with Sue and saw something so unexpected that it startled me into lucidity.

Now, instead of one young man, there are another three of them reclining around the side of the jacuzzi. Sue is still there, but instead of giving him a back rub, she has walked over to the opposite side and dropped her uniform to the ground so she is completely naked. She lowers herself into the jacuzzi, and the other guys start to close in on her.

I'm looking at this, thinking “this has to be a dream.” Once my jaw was off the ground, I marched back into the room. Everyone seemed to have frozen - no movement or noise from anyone. Even the jacuzzi had stopped bubbling.

'Yep,' I thought, 'definitely a dream.'

I pushed the first guy out of the way and got in right next to her. I turned to the men and said,

'You guys need to be somewhere else right now.'

They didn't move, do or say anything.

'Fine, watch,' I said, 'Just shut up.'

I turned my attention to Sue. But not long after we get started, I got so excited that I woke up.

      Guess I should have stabilized.

    6. Chasing bubbles - TOTM fail.

      by , 01-31-2015 at 07:34 PM
The first dream was a short one - a weird naked guy with a beard is in my room, watching me as I sleep. I jump out of bed and I am about to beat the crap out of him before I wake up at 4am.

I do a WBTB for about fifteen minutes before going back to bed.

First, I dream that I am partying with a younger Benedict Cumberbatch. He has longer hair, and we seem to be hanging out in the same kinds of places that I went to as a student.

Then I have the lucid dream: This must have come in the middle of an REM cycle, because I don't remember how I got here, and my memories of what happened after were patchy.

I'm not sure what is going, but I seem to be in the middle of a huge celebration. It is outdoors on a huge field - might even be a valley. It is sunny, and everything is very vivid, bright and idyllic - that's the best way I can describe it. Somewhere in the middle of all this, I remember there being a game of American Football going on, but it wasn't the main focus. The focus of the party was past the game, somewhere in the distance, but I can't remember what it was. The game was just part of the festivities.

When I became lucid, I was in the crowd somewhere outside the American Football game. There was a real party atmosphere. I noticed that there were bubbles floating around as I checked the place out. I decided to attempt the January TOTM, and try to find a crystal ball so that I could ask it about the year ahead.

I couldn't manifest a crystal ball. So I decided to capture one of the bubbles in my hand, and use that instead. I thought maybe it could turn into a crystal ball. I held one in my hand, hoping it might solidify into a crystal ball. It sort of went grey and a little thicker, but it popped in seconds before I could ask any questions.

This happened a couple of times before I lost lucidity.

After that all I remember is a fragment about being in my room, and watching a strange man try to clean the mould off the walls.

    7. Chatting with market stall owner

      by , 01-31-2015 at 12:19 AM
Only a brief lucid, after a couple of fragments:

First, I was on a coach to Bristol. The weather is clear and sunny, but freezing cold (it was actually just as cold when I woke up).

Then, something about kids on bikes at the bottom of the road.

The lucid dream: I am talking to a woman at a market stall. She is selling a strange concoction of muts, fruits, and something else. She rolls it up like a profiterol and sells it as food. I ask her to make one for me, so I can eat it and fulfil two of my tasks at the same time. As she is making it, I wake up.

    8. A Walking Dead dream

      by , 12-02-2014 at 10:28 AM
This is a short one, but I thought I would write about it.

The non-lucid part of the dream takes place in the world of The Walking Dead, where a character from the soap opera Coronation Street (UK members will be familiar with this) has to cut off a few of his fingers in exchange for something he wants.

Then I find myself trapped in a room full of heavy coats on racks. I get claustrophobic and wake up at 4am.

I go back to sleep ten minutes later after writing my dreams down, and I find myself dreaming about the Walking Dead again. This time, I'm in a long workshop of some kind,
working on something in a bench. Darryl is there, we chat, but I can't remember what about.

Then it gets weird when a group of very middle-class looking people start filing into the room with notepads, and sit behind us against the wall. They don't look like they have been trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse.

I turn to Darryl, and I say "This is a dream, isn't it?"

He confirms that it is. We both enthusiastically high-five each other before heading off in opposite directions.

I approach a couple of young women and engage them in conversation. They seem nice enough, but then I realize that I was supposed to do something, possibly a TOTM. but I completely forget what it was.

      Then I woke up.

    9. Zombies, goblins and teenagers.

      by , 11-23-2014 at 09:56 PM
The dream starts off non-lucid with me sitting in front of a TV screen watching something (a surfing video?) while chatting to a blonde, middle-aged woman who I am aware is a spirit entity rather than a physical human. We start by talking about haunted houses and the paranormal, before going into more personal matters. Then we lose contact and it's just me and the TV.

I wake up, write it all down for about five minutes before going back to sleep.

In my next dream, I find myself in the world of The Walking Dead. The group of survivors I'm with are American teenagers - possibly "Spring Breakers" (I'm not American, and I'm only familiar with this from US films and TV shows.)

In this world, some of the zombies manage to communicate that they are still at least partially human and that they mean no harm. At one point, I remember chatting to a zombie woman about some fairly mundane stuff.

Then I am in a local cemetery, where I find the entrance to a dungeon-like place underground, like something out of D&D. The place is filled with goblins, armed and guarding something on the other side of a river of lava.

This is where I become lucid. While figuring out how to get to the other side, I realize that I need to take a piss, and I decide that this is more important than fighting goblins.

Even though they have noticed me on the other side, and start moving into position to attack me, I decide that I can't be bothered with this fight and just need to find somewhere to relieve myself.

There is a bridge across the lava, and it was here that I actually find a goblin toilet, in a stone outhouse on the bridge. It is basically a domed lid on the floor. I pick it up to find it is just a hole in the ground. I didn't think this was of a good enough standard, so I went to the other side of the bridge and just pissed into the lava.
No one attacked me, but half-way through, I noticed the spring breakers above moving into the lava. I narrowly avoid pissing on them. Then I woke up.

Thankfully, I'm not one of those people who dream of going to the toilet before waking to find that they've wet the bed. That would have been a real pain in the ass to deal with.

    10. Intimidating a pensioner

      by , 11-03-2014 at 01:20 AM
      First dream:

I am on a night out with pretty much everyone I have ever known. We are in a local nightclub, and I feel bad about ignoring a young woman I work with when she was standing alone. But instead of chatting to her, I leave and head towards a corridor filled with lockers. I put my backpack in a locker (why I took my backpack on a night out, I don't know).

I head outside into the street where some other people I know are, and I start to get paranoid about my bag. I decide to go back in and check on it, and this is where I became lucid.

In the locker room, I see an old woman I used to work with until she retired. I never liked her very much. She says something to me, and I decide to respond in gibberish - completely random words - just to see how she reacts. She responds like I said something that made sense, which I found strange.

I decide to see if I can damage her somehow with my mind, since this is my dream. I advance on her, projecting "malevolent energy", hoping to tear a hole through her.

It doesn't work. She just backs away and laughs nervously. I decide to turn around and leave before my aggression wakes me up, but I did wake up.

I performed a WBTB for 10 minutes, then went back to sleep for my second lucid dream.

      Second dream:

I'm in a similar building, not sure if it is the same one, but it looks alike. For some reason, I am aware that I am starting a masters degree in Fashion, and I am questioning the wisdom of this move.

I became lucid shortly after this. This is when I saw an attractive woman in the building. I talk to her, then guide her into a private room where we could take things further. There is a single bed in this small, cluttered room, and I tell her to sit down.

Just as I am about to make my next move, some other woman I know bursts into the room for no apparent reason. So I guide her onto the bed next to the other DC, and just as I am thinking about where to take this next, I wake up.

      Third dream:

I think I DEILDed straight into a third lucid dream. I am outside in my area at night, and there is a big Halloween party going on in the street. Everyone is drunk. All I did was wander around, lucid, until I woke up again.

I can't remember if I actually woke up, or if I went straight into a false awakening, because I remember dreaming about waking up in a strange place in public. There was a procession of women in pink walking past me. It was short-lived, and I wasn't even lucid.

    11. Partying with Daniel Radcliffe; Dancing in the mirror

      by , 10-12-2014 at 08:47 PM
I woke up at 4:30am, so I decided to try WBTB for 10 minutes.

When I tried to sleep, I kept feeling the onset of sleep paralysis, which freaked me out so I resisted it for a while.

I eventually fell asleep and dreamed about a GTA-style game in which two women are chasing each other in their cars. The pursued woman traps the other woman somehow and paralyzes her, holding her hostage.

Then I am in this game, in a race against another woman driver. I quickly get bored as the track is small and circular, so I get away into another part of the map.

The dream turns lucid when the GTA setting turns into the trailer for some action movie with a "buddy" theme. The stars are two young men, with specific ages - one aged 17, the other 23. The 17-year old is played by Daniel Radcliffe. The 23-year old was another famous actor, but I can't remember him.

I end up in the trailer with them, racing through the streets in various vehicles until we get to their home - a large house somewhere off the map.

I hang out with them in a poorly lit room somewhere on the ground floor. I think it was the living room. We chat for a while, then they both leave to another room in the house, leaving me alone in the room.

I notice a wall-length mirror, so I look at myself. I look as I normally do. I decided to dance in front of the mirror, and this is where it gets interesting: when I exaggerated my arm movements, in the mirror my arms were still at my side. I waved my arms around wildly, but the reflection only showed me making smaller movements, still at my side.

I decided to leave the room and explore the rest of the house. Outside the room was a long hallway that was dark. It was only lit by lights from behind the doors along it. The first door to the left had a red light, possibly coming from a TV, where Radcliffe and his friend were hanging out. I thought about walking in, but decided to see the rest of the house first.

The other doors were slightly ajar, and seemed to be bedrooms. All of them seemed to have a female occupant sleeping on a bed. I decided against walking in there and disturbing them - I could not be bothered to deal with a DC screaming about a strange man in their bedroom.

I walked further along and ended up in a wood-panelled kitchen. It was spacious with a lot of cupboards mounted from the ceiling. The counter was in the middle, and I walked around it to explore the other side of the kitchen.

This is where it got scary: when I reached the opposite end of the kitchen, a man emerged from the door that I came in from. He was a tall, elderly man with an eye that was messy somehow - like half of his face was rotting. He spoke to me in a Scottish accent, and started coming after me around the table.

He chased me around the table, reaching out for me, trying to grab me. I don't think he had malicious intent - in fact, judging by how he was smiling, I think he wanted to hug me. But I wasn't sure. Besides, he looked so freakish that I didn't want him anywhere near me.

After a while, I got sick of being chased around the counter. I stopped, turned around and slammed one of the cupboard doors in his face, shouting:

"Get the f*** away from me!"

He turned and fled back through the door.

My sudden aggression woke me up. It was 6am.

I went back to sleep and had some dream where I was being chased by gunmen in some sci-fi setting, my recall is a little hazy on that one.

    12. Strange assortment of imagery

      by , 10-11-2014 at 09:01 PM
The imagery in this dream is so strange and out of place that I don't know why I didn't turn lucid sooner. But when I did turn lucid, it was a short one.

The dream starts with me being a student again. I am looking at my new accomodation, which is a small bungalow in an area near to where I currently live. After looking indoors, I check the place out from outside. I notice a dark-haired, pale-skinned young woman who seems to be pissed off about something.

I go back indoors and the landlord shows up, who turns out to be one of the managers at my job. He is in my bed, doing some sewing (there is so much weird imagery in this dream, I don't know where to start unpicking it).

Then I am on the grounds of a wealthy estate, where they are holding a jumble sale. There are many stalls, it's almost like a marketplace. I go inside the manor house and see a middle-aged, blonde woman in business attire. She has hired a "watercolour artist" to paint bad poetry on the walls.

The dreams turns lucid when I find myself back home, going up the stairs. A female coworker seems to be hanging out on the top of the stairs. One the landing I seem something that seems to be cobbled together from various videogames I've played in my past: a crane from Unreal Tournament. When I go up the lift, there is a bad guy from GTA3, who I try to shoot down but fail.

I go down the lift, back to my landing. The coworker is still hanging out on the stairs, and I know that I am dreaming. I try to go down the stairs, but by this point I get the impression that the dream is fading, and I think I go back to sleep.

    13. Lights out on the seafront

      by , 09-25-2014 at 11:20 PM
I'll start with the non-lucid dream that came before I woke up and performed a WBTB: I'm getting advice from Russell Brand on getting bodywash with a specific ingredient (can't remember what it was). Then Arnold Schwarzenegger is telling me that if he could have his time again he would be a vegetarian bodybuilder because "sometimes I feel down".

Then I am walking into the town centre. I see a tall, ugly, weird-looking man who keeps looking at me - the kind of person you avoid eye contact with. He approaches me and starts talking about how he held a job for one day in a place where they "make milk". I was polite, but then he started dancing around me as he talked, and grabbed my ears from behind. I got aggressive, and that's when I woke up.

After staying up for a little while I went back to bed, and had the lucid part of the dream: I was walking along the local seafront at night. The place is well-lit, but I start playing around with my phone, losing awareness of my surroundings. When I look up from my phone, I realize that all the lights had suddenly turned off. I was in almost pitch-black darkness. I could see the lights on the ships in the distance near the breakwater, and there was some light pollution from the city in the distance. But I could not see a thing in front of me.

That's when I knew I must be lucid, because I was trying to imagine the streetlights coming back on so I could see my way in front of me. I couldn't do it.

The rest of the dream is non-lucid. I am back in University. My accomodation is basically the same spacious room I had in the second year, but I'm sharing it with a mix of people from work and strangers. The landlord subjects us to a surprise inspection, and my place is a mess. On my desk is a pack of trading cards I had in the nineties, an old TV set, and a red/black leather bound book which is full of poetry. We all have to line up in the room as the landlord and an assistant look through the room - they seem to be searching for something, but are secretive about it.

Then I am standing on the University campus at night. I am holding a plate of food I have just bought - chicken, chips, and some other stuff. I see a couple walk onto the grounds. They notice me, but ignore me as the man throws a heavy-looking holdall through the glass front of a campus cafe and runs in to loot the place. The woman runs off to do the same elsewhere.

I realize I am witnessing a burglary. I reach for my phone, only to realize it isn't there - it's back at my room. I finish my plate of food first as I watch the man rob the place, before heading back.

In my room is two of the young women. They both seem to be ill, watching the old TV set on my desk. I casually ask how everyone is as I grab my phone, expecting "fine". One of them turns around, and is about to give a long-winded answer about how ill she is, and I realize that I don't have the time to listen to her answer because I need to call the police. Then I woke up.

This lucid dream is brief, and I think came in the middle of the REM cycle, so my memory of it is hazy.

I'll start with the non-lucid parts, which I only remember in fragments. The dream seemed to revolve about Richard Branson being my new manager at work. He has also let me stay with him in the spare room of his house, and I have to share the room with a coworker of mine - a young woman who I see often but don't speak to very much.

The two of us start hanging out together a lot. We seem to get pretty close to each other, although no sex or anything like that. At one point I am sitting in our room and she returns with some weed. She rolls up a joint and shares it with me. I get paranoid about the Branson's finding out, so I open a window and smoke leaning out of it. At one point Richard or a member of his family turns up in our room and I have to hide it.

At another point in the dream, I walk through my city during a beautiful summer day. I am walking with Vicky, a girl I knew from school and haven't seen since. We meet another girl I haven't seen since school at a crossing.

Here is the lucid part: I end up doing a lot of travel by train. It was in one of the train station that I realized I was dreaming. I think I am with the coworker mentioned above. I see two women who work as cleaners on the station and I decide to speak to them. Whatever I said (or did) seemed be horribly offensive to them and everyone around them. I must have been lucid because I always feel the need to do something completely innapropriate.

    15. Escaping in the night

I forget how this situation arose, but I find myself being held captive in my own house by a group of people I can't remember. The thing is, no one is pointing a gun to my head or anything. I could leave, but for some reason I'm afraid to. There's some real psychological issues to unravel in this one.

I become lucid when I meet a woman who I have seen in the past as a hypnotherapist - only she doesn't look or sound like her. It is night, and she tells me that we should just get up and leave. I know this is a slightly nightmarish dream by now, so I decide to go with her, just to see what would happen. Despite knowing this is a dream, I am still hesitant to leave. Like I'm not supposed to do this or something.

We just walk out of the door without any opposition and get in her car. She drives us away and chats to me as she does so. The streets are empty. I'm really nervous for some reason. I look into the rear view mirror and I see the silhouette of a man in the road behind us in the distance. He seems to flit in and out of view. He looks like he is wearing some tribal headdress - like a bear-skin or something.

The hypnotherapist notices that I'm staring into the mirror and has a look herself.

'Oh yeah,' she says, 'it looks like there is a man behind us.'

This was the point where I woke up.
