non-lucid

I have so many dream fragments I remember this morning. I can remember a lot of detail about what I saw in my dreams, the plots remain quite vague.

1) I'm in bed. there are two other men with me one of them is famous. A woman is telling us that we need to practice our routine (for some sort of show?). I offer to get the vegetables ready and walk over to a sink where there is a bag of greens to chop up, they look a bit yellow. I start chopping and realise that most of them are mouldy and there are insects all over them. I show it to the woman. I have to go to the shop to get more vegetables. I remember in detail the path up to the shop, I'm running, jumping past other people and their dogs, over some rocks I see my feet landong on the rocks and lots of stones on the ground. I get to the top of the path and there's a GP surgery there I try to get in but it's the wrong side and I have to go around to the front. then I'm back in the hotel room, it gets a bit sexual for a while, then I have to go back out to the shop (can't remember why). I'm in the hotel lobby and I have a conversation with one of the staff. then I'm back out on the path. I have to cross the road.

2) At some sort of large holiday complex. I can't remember the order of events exactly. I'm outside and I start tieing my shoelaces, a child sits down beside me, then an official looking woman comes up to me and starts telling in French that I should not ask a child to sit next to me. I tell her I can't speak French, then we have an argument in English and I tell her that the child came and sat next to me, we agree to disagree. I'm inside with a group of people a childrens's entertainer is setting up, he tells us that everyone on camp has a 'routine' and I tell the group that I've seen it before and I'm going outside. I take a long time sorting out what I need to take with me from my coat. I step outsode and look across at the mountains they are covered in snow I can see it extends right down to just a short way away. There are 2 main ski runs down the side of the main mountaintop, they look quite scary near a ledge and very tight turns, I tell my wife I'm going for a walk but I'm going to fly so I won't be long, and tell her I'm going up to look at the snow. I stand a bit longer and watch some people skiing down another run.

3) I'm in a room with a window looking out onto a snowy scene. Then I'm with a young girl and we are watching something happen outside, I think she was a bit frightened and I made her feel better.

4) In some sort of spy film. I'm on the phone saying that I can help with a mission, looking at some sort of advert. The man on the end of the phone suddenly becomes unwell and has to go. Vague recollection of the rest of the dream, something about walking around a large vehicle.

Another late night, which always seems to mess up my dream recall, got to get to bed earlier tonight.

1) Being driven through the old town I used to work in. I remember driving past some run down areas (that don't actually exist) and noticing that they were now looking as if they had been tidied up and planted with flowers. We drove into the town and I commented that I didn't realise how big it was my wife told me that it had always been this big and I thought 'yes it has'.

2) Walking into a train with a kitten, it's a very young version of our cat. It jumped onto the roof of the train and I managed to get it down eventually. We walked on board then it became an aeroplane I went to the front and asked a stewardess if we could bring the cat and she said yes if it is put in a special cupbord. I put the cat in a carrying box and put it in the cupboard.

3) Not much remembered from ths one. I was stood next to a low wall with my wife. She handed me a laptop and got annoyed because one of our children had put a CD in wrong and it looked damaged. I took the CD out and gave it back to my wife.

Numerous times I could have noticed my hands in these dreams: carying the kitten, reaching up for it, holding the laptop.

At some sort of stadium. There is a fire burning in the distance and I watch it. Somehow then I'm with a group of young people and there is some sort of game going on, I can't remember much more than that.
Then I'm walking down the side of a football pitch inside the stadium and thinking what a long way the walk is, although actually it's not that far. i get to the other side, go through a door and then i'm in a garden. I'm setting up a tent, I don't like where it is so I pick it up and move it somewhere else then I'm happy with the position and think about starting to set up the inside of the tent so I can go to sleep.

I scribbled a few notes about another dream - something about having a meal in a pub but can't remember any more about it now.

1) It feels like Victorian times. I'm stitching up a corpse ready for burial doing a complicated suture up the chest. I'm in an old stone building. At one point a woman is watching me, she's been watching me for a while so I follow her and eventually see her face, I'm satisfied that she is nothing to worry about as she disappears through a door. I'm back to sewing up the corpse - I certified him dead, but then I see his face move and realise I got it wrong and he is actually still alive.
From here the dream becomes a nightmare. The corpse vanishes and I feel an evil presence behind me as if he has come back from the dead and start to feel very afraid. I tell myself it's a nightmare and that I have to face it (I'm not lucid but some sort of memory about facing your fears in a dream) and it's not real. Then I wake up. AT LAST A HINT OF LUCIDITY?!?!

2) I knock a pint of beer onto myself whilst seated at a table. My immediate thought is 'who did that?' then I realise it was myself. Then I have walked to a different location and I find myself talking to a woman about the spilt drink as if her child had spilt it over me and saying it's ok. Looking behind her I see a glass screen and realise that we are at a holiday camp and I tell her that we aren't here this year but have booked to come for a whole week next year.

3) Another dream - I woke up after and remembered it well but didn't write any reminders down! All forgotten now.

4) I'm in a queue with 2 female characters (?family) and we are waiting to have XRays taken. A woman is stood at a desk checking us in, collecting valuables and shoes. Eventually it's my turn. I ask her if I need to hand in my watch and she decides that I should so I give her my watch and shoes. She calls a doctor, we go together to a really bright airy carpeted room. I have a pot plant with me and explain that it's not well and I thought I should get it looked at. I give him the pot plant it's covered in a plastic bag with insects all over it. He puts the pot plant on the floor and gets ready to Xray it.

5) In my old consulting room chatting to a patient. He is telling me about a good new garden centre. I find myself explaining in detail why I won't be going there because I don't work here any more. I remember looking around the room seeing a lot of detail and having a very detailed discussion.

1) I am in the grden of the house I was brought up in. I want to fly as high as possible then free fall back to the ground. I fly up but realise I'm not as high as I thought as I can still touch the ground, so I go higher, I can see the top of a tree next to me. Then I move across and touch the top of the roof of the house and look at the tiles and move around it. Next I'm in an upstairs bedroom with an open window in front of me and I run and jump out of it trying to believe that I can fly and won't just drop to the ground. I look down at the ground and can fly as I expected.

2) Lots of little fragments: Driving through a field and the corn is just starting to grow, a road has been cut through the middle of it. I get somewhere and am sitting in the car, i think it is one of the local villages, not sure why I'm there. The radio is on. Then I talk to a man and demonstrate something to him, he's not very impressed. then a vague memory of playing around with a computer and the video card.

1) On a coach siting at the back, my granny is driving, we set off at great speed. I realise it's cold and I have forgotten a coat. Then I'm flying in the air with all the other people on the coach and I notice they are all wearing just T shirts and realise it's actually quite warm. Next I have a cat sitting on my legs and it's quite enjoying being thrown around and sleeping soundly on me.

2) There are hundreds of peolple wearing hard hats preparing for a wedding, I'm wandering around amonst them. I'm outside the marquee and surrounded by scouts who are going to camp in the same area I walk with them back towards the wedding marquee and reach the entrance, say goodbye, there are a few people now stood around wearing formal clothing.

3) On a camping trip. Then I'm a long way from the tent naked and I run back trying to avoid the thistles on the ground.

Took a lot of effort to remember anything this morning.

1) At some sort of conference. Difficult to get in my bags kept getting searched, crowds of people trying to get in. I remember going from downstairs to upstairs, there was more to this dream but I can't remember much detail.

2) Standing in a country lane with my wife outside some houses, I think I was trying to explain something to her. One of our cats ran out into the road as a large lorry came past and narrowly avoided being run over. Somehow the dream switched to me moving bits of frozen fish from a large plastic container to a smaller one. Bit odd.

3) I was hearing music from Les miserables and thinking how much my wife liked it then thought about taking her to see it. I was then looking through a programme for the show.

At a train station, put my bags on the train but it left without me. This happened twice.

The frst time for many days I have remembered anything worth writing down. Working long hours which isn't helping, and I'm always in a rush to get ready for work when I get up. It's the weekend now which helps.

1) On a road in the car with one of my children. The car is driving itself it's a tour around a large hill in Yorkshire, some sort of holiday complex. It's a lovely rural road with views over more hills. We passed some buildings and I looked at the map and thought that it should be a cinema but it had been converted to a business, there was a row of houses next to it.
Then we came up to a traffic jam, then a junction and for some reason we had to get out of the car. We walked up a hill and there were hundreds of people coming in the opposite direction.

2) I was in a doctor's surgery. I was talking with some old patients in the waiting room. Another doctor called someone in before them but it was their turn and they weren't too bothered. I walked back towards my consulting room. Everything was cosy like a normal house, warm, a nice carpeted corridor, beams on the ceiling, old wooden doors. I met a dog in the corridor and said hello. My bike was leaning against the wall. I was really happy. I opened the door to my consulting room, the dream ended and I woke up.

Back for another try at Lucid Dreaming, so time to do some dream journaling again...

It's taken me a few nights to be able to remember anything at all, at last I can recall some details of last nights dreams.

I'm with someone else, doing some sort of pre-hospital medical care, but my medical bag is old and there's not much in it. I'm at my second casualty and he needs an IV drip. I get a line in but all the fluids and connectors have been used before but I have to use something so I find a bag half full of fluids - it's saline so I connect it and flush it through, there's a lot of air in the system because nothing fits, then I realise it's an odd hypotonic saline solution and stop it flowing. It's a mess.

It's the weekend and I'm at work, I can't remember too much I'm sat at a desk and a paramedic walks in and apologises for not doing too much work he was busy with something personal, I say it's ok it's not very busy anyway, I'm writing something, and we decide it's time for a break. There are several other doctor's also having a break, we talk about what are the best consulting rooms to work in.

I'm seeing patients and I decide one man needs a hole cutting into his chest, so we draw a template together. The hole is quite big, next thing we are out somewhere checking if the hole on the template is big enough, and there are several soft toys we have to make sure it's big enough for them to fit through. Then I'm getting ready to make the hole and I realise that it's way too big and it's right over the heart, and I start questioning why I'm making a big hole in someone's chest.

Left it too late to remember much again. My dreams last night were exciting....

I was trying to escape something and not be caught, it wasn't frightening but quite exciting. I remember running up and down a stairwell, then along corridors. I think I was plotting something. I went downstairs to a friend's office on the first floor and we lowered each other out of the window. There was much more to this dream that I remembered when I woke, now forgotten.

I can't remember if it was the same dream but there was someone talking to a crowd in a large enclosed arena. my friend showed me a time altering device that we could throw somewhere and it would speed up or slow down time. We threw it at the speaker and he started talking very fast whilst we escaped.

Before going to sleep I was worried about having made a mistake with a patient's care.....

1) I was stood in front of a consultant discussing a patient's care. I said about checking her blood glucose and was told in no uncertain terms I had it wrong and it had to be checked at the weekend. Then I was in a second hand shop looking at where a pile of books should be and they weren't there and I thought that perhaps someone had taken them already and knew I had got it wrong. I went to my car and the door was bent and forced inwards as if someone had tried to break in.
I got in the car and started driving, I remembered I had a radio in the car and turned it on thinking I might hear who was after me. Then I was in a medical shop wheeling a patient trolley back in that I had borrowed, I told them I would be back later with everything else.
I went upstairs in the same building to a room full of slot machines, and thought maybe if I have a big win my problems would be over, but decided that I never gamble and it wouldn't happen. The room was full of middle aged women playing the machines. I wandered around a bit looking at all the fruit machines. Someone threw some coins at me.
I went downstairs again to the medical shop but it had turned into a pub, I went to the bar to ask when they would open as a medical shop agin , there were some old colleagues stood at the bar ordering drinks and one asked me in quite a callous way 'so you only come here on the half hour now do you?' so I left again.

2) I was watching a taxi driving over the top of a bridge and thinking how dangerous it was. It was pink and the bridge was pink. The taxi was sliding all over the place but didn't fall off.

All slightly strange dreams.

Poor recall this morning, and forgot to write anything fort thing so this is all I remember now:

1) Riding a motorbike, realised that I had forgotten to wear a crash helmet so pulled a hood up instead, driving very slowly so I didn't crash. Came to a large roundabout and realised I was hopelessly lost, panicked a bit. Pulled into a side turning and went into a yard to ask for help. Someone who seemed very nice helped me, can't remember how but next thing I was riding again following a satnav. Not sure where I was going.

2) Vague memory of treating someone for a chest infection. I remember noting that they were on a particular drug.

Set an intention to remember my dreams last night as my recall has been dreadful, and remembered loads this morning, already forgotten quite a bit though.

I woke in the early hours after a dream, all I remember was 'The Beatles' so obviously dreamt about the Beatles. plenty more dreams after that:

1) Driving down a country lane and saw a farm, saw writing on the walls and realised it was actually a farm converted into a shop, saw inside as I drove past and it was selling electronic goods. Went on further and entered a strange old town, parked the car and walked up the street.
Met an old man who showed me some pictures he had taken, I zoomed in on one of them and saw some old friends from medical school stood on a bridge waving at me. I then saw some other friends stood on a roof waving at me, the picture was fuzzy because I was zoomed in so much.

2) I was on a school trip talking to the teacher a lot about all sorts. We were eating in a canteen, then I remember being stood out on some grass and there were holes in the ground and I could see paving slabs through them and thinking that that area needed to be filled in.

3) Stood in a clearing surrounded by trees. A large prehistoric bird landed nearby, I was talking about it with a friend I was with and we decided it wasn't going to eat us so we watched for a while. Then it laid some eggs. We noticed some other birds there aswell and they had all laid eggs.

4) In the last dream I was with a tractor in an old barn with a very sturdy wooden door. I got out of the tractor and saw lots of notices about being carful climbing up and over the door, there was a large concrete ledge I had to climb onto it was painted yellow I remember a lot of detail. I walked along and got to the door I was going to climb over. It was very heavy and I thought that this was an old industrial complex in the North of England somewhere, I jumped over the door and then found I had forgotten my car keys - I spoke to some people about it, and realised I had left the key in the tractor. Someone came with me to help me over the door of the barn but I leapt over it in one go. I found the key in the tractor.

I had arrived in a town with some friends to run a half marathon. I hadn't done any training. I said that I was going to run it in around 2 hours. We were on a playing field and we started moving toward the start line. There were big crowds of people all moving in the same direction.
I became separated from my friends. I was carrying a bag and wearing a big coat and looked for somewhere to leave them. I thought a bench would be safe, it looked like someone was going to do some children's entertainment there as there were balls and other things left lying around. I put my bag on the bench.
I still had to get rid of my coat. I wandered into a changing room but it would cost me money to hire a locker and I didn't have any, I almost hung the coat up on a hook but it was a nice yellow skiing jacket and I didn't want it to be stolen. Then I was suddenly in someone's house and he had offered to let me leave it there. I was stood in his hallway but I didn't actually see him. I was looking at lockers on the wall, there was a poster on the lockers showing a building, his mother appeared and told me it was disgusting and I knew she was talking about a gay nightclub and the friend was gay.
I was outside again. It was sunny and warm. I realised it was 5 minutes until the start of the race and I was a long way from the start. I was running down a sloping street towards the town center. There were too many people in my way so I had to run over some rough ground covered with thorns. I made it to the start of the race but I had left my runner number at home so I couldn't run. I watched the start of the race as I walked along the side of the street, there were shops on the side of the road. I saw a few other people dressing in running gear and wondered why they weren't running.
A man came up to me and started asking questions. I knew who he was but couldn't remember his name. Then there were several other men stood around me and I sort of knew them all but couldn't remember exactly who they were.

I had some other dreams but have forgotten them now.
