      enak101's Workbook

Hey, I'm enak101 and I'm 16 years old. Doing year 11 at high school over in Australia. I have been trying different techniques such as DEILD and WILD but based purely on evidence DILD has to be the best. Everyone who has a significant amount of LD's are very aware people and most are from DILDs. There are exceptions obviously and everyone is different but for the most part it holds true.

I'm going to use MILD+ADA or Hukif's gravity RC+ WBTB whenever to maximize my chances.
My recall is probably 4 or 5 a week at the moment if I keep up with my DJ. Haven't been keeping one that long but it really works for me quickly!

      Thanks everyone!

Any tips for mantras? I have some trouble getting wording right and worry too much about it hah

Also not sure on whether to do ADA or Gravity RC like Hukif but all I know is no one really gave Hukif's technique a go for a long time but ADA has been more popular.

Stick with a mantra that feels right to you. If it isn't personal and memorable, it won't stick.

It doesn't have to be complicated. In fact, it shouldn't be.

Find comfortable words that will trigger your thoughts. Thinking about your dream signs may help you find something useful!

"I will remember my dreams" I just say it 3 times and I usually get like 2 real dreams and a couple fragment dreams. When I say it I'm like a natural at remembering dreams.

Hi enak101, welcome to DILD workshop!
You are right, DILD can give you great, consistent results. And I agree, that doing RCs + mantras + awareness technique + WBTB and keeping a DJ will increase your chances at getting lucid. The most important thing is, though, your enthusiasm and believing, that you can do it. Although WBTB is helpfull, you can leave it out untill you see how it goes without it. Just because it can disturb your sleep.

There is no need to pick between awareness and RCs. After you ask 'Am i dreaming' and you really think about it, do some of your favorite RCs and tell yourself 'If this was a dream, I would be levitating' and for a moment consider it happening.

You can have many different mantras for different goals. The best one is the one, that feels right when you say it. You can also change them as you need. It should be short, but you can also make some rhyming mantras - I found that these work really well for me. My last one is "Alien planets, beautiful beach, with lucid dreaming, I can reach." (This after watching movie The Contact with Jodie Foster, there is a scene on beach on planet in Vega system.) This gave me a regular dream on alien planet. You can replace the destination according to what you would like to dream about.

Be aware, that you should never use future tense while saying mantras or thinking about your goals. Our mind interprets 'I will' as anytime, just not now. Present tense is best, even if grammar is not always correct. Like "I remember my dreams', 'I lucid dream tonight', ' Next time I'm dreaming, I realize I'm dreaming'. Best time to say your mantra is as you falling asleep, make it your last thought before you doze off.

Please continue posting your progress. Happy dreams

It's best to use present tens in mantras. I would suggest changing yours to 'I remember my dreams'. Happy dreams

      Gab pretty much smashed that.
I'd like to see you improve your recall to at least one (decent) recall per night.
I'd like to see you attempt some all day awareness.
And I'd like to see you try a WBTB MILD ( and some normal MILDs with visualisation)

Remember to write down your progress!

Yeah, thanks for the advice, will do.

Yeah, had one average dream last night about school (again) I might consider it as a dreamsign.
I'll try some ADA today during the day hopefully a few times for 5-10 mins.
I'll do WBTB for tonight since it is a public holiday so no school.

I'll report back after I wake up tomorrow from all of that

Another thing is that I consider myself horrible at visualization but I will try my best. ADA seemed to go okay. I remembered to do it walking to and from school and it seemed a bit different than what I normally do. I'm trying my best to do it now at the computer but it seems more neutral and passive. I'll edit this post after MILD attempt and WBTB.

Perhaps RC when the topic of school comes up, when you see your school or when it comes up in a conversation.
Another thing is that I consider myself horrible at visualization but I will try my best
I thought I sucked really bad at visualisation, but I believe everyone is the same, possibly the ability to focus varies from person to person.
Just imagine what it would look like, rather than attempting to see it on the back of your eyelids. Good luck there
ADA is best done when you normally forget to do it, e.g. mid conversations, watching a film

Thanks, well yeah I try to just think about the scenario and what everything looks like so I'll give it another try. I have done a few MILD attempts but no luck so far. Persistence

I'm not so good at visualization either. It's best to visualize something you are well familiar with. But as Arch said, you can just think about the dreamscape. I have noticed, that sometimes when you thinking about something, as you come closer to falling asleep, some of those images may start forming behind your eyelids. Persistence is the key

On the gravity RC you mentioned up there and ADA... yeah I wouldn't know how to answer that, since gravity RC ideally is like ADA. It is a RC that is done throughout the day and most likely throughout the night, so in essence they are the same, just that instead of being aware of everything, you are only aware of your weight.

Just thought I would post here to get it started again. I went slack on dreaming in general for a period of time but have been keeping a DJ for 15 days now.

Currently remembering 1-2 dreams a night with a few nights of no dreams, 2 or 3. So fairly happy with that to start going for lucids while I build up more recall.
I'm going to some MILD's with WBTB. Do you think setting an alarm is allright? I see some people say it ruins it and that you should try and wake up naturally. I think setting my alarm should be okay, going to try 5 hours after sleeping.

Not really a DILD but I'm going to be attempting some Finger Induced Lucid Dreams just because of the high success rate and how easy it seems. But that's a side thing while I also do MILD.

ADA, I will start doing that soon as well. Can't do anything but help.

Did several moments of ADA today for short periods of time, will do for longer and more frequently.

Alarm is fine for WBTB. You could always drink some water to wake up naturally or mantra to wake you up. Here is a DILD tutorial that may help you decide what to practice for DILDs. Good luck and happy dreams
