Try using passive control. By summoning a jetpack, using angel wings, a rocket, put on the "Ironman" boots. Anything like that. But I wouldn't worry if I were you. Flying might take a few tries to get right, I'm sure you'll do better next time |

So last night I had my first self induced LD. I tried to fly but just flapped my arms and sort of levitated... It was cool and all but I wanted to go fast >_< no matter how much effort I put into it or how much I imagined I couldn't go fast... any help? |

That's funny you mentioned a jetpack I just had a dream last night where me and someone else had a jet pack and were escaping from somewhere. I could never usually fly in my dream before that, but I could run really fast and jump. I never thought about trying that in a lucid thanks. |

Hi, Saintburger! I made this flying guide a few months ago, and I recommend you read over it. Hope it helps! |

Like Matte said, confidence is a huge part of it (and anything else involving dream control)! Fully believe you can fly and act like it's not that big of a deal to do so. The less you "try" to fly, the better off you're going to be. If you're still having trouble, imagine the feeling of acceleration; if you've been on roller coasters, recount the feeling you got right when they took off. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

One of the things I do when it just won't work is imagening the world is moving and I'm not... |

Whatever happens~
I had an LD now in the morning and i managed to swim through the air, the problem is that it went just as fast as swimming in real life |

Think of the air as a medium of travel rather than some intangible boundary that is out of reach. Freda's method is excellent - swimming through the air is exactly what I did the first time I flew in my dreams. |

Here are a few fun ways I've flown (in non-lucids) - |

I am the complete opposite! In lucids I usually start flying and get way over-excited and randomly decide to blast off into hyper speed which would be awesome but usually the dream isn't stable enough to stay together at such high speeds. |
