      Exclamation Blinking

Idk if this is the right section...

Anyways in almost all of my recent "lucid" dreams, when i try to blink sometimes my real eyes blink. I get close to waking up i try and hold my eyes open but it usually doesnt work.

What would you all say about this, and does this happen to anyone else?

Why exactly do you blink in the firdt place? If you can find out what causes it, you might be able to stop it altogether.

It is usually bad to think about your eyes. For instance, I would NEVER intentionally close my eyes in a dream. That is because when you reopen them there is a high chance of opening your real eyes. I suppose I do not know why that is, but try to avoid being aware of your eyes if you can.

This is a sad thing I learned through my first two LDs, which happened to be WILDS. I closed my eyes in the first one, ending the dream. The second one I walked through walls, but kept closing my eyes as I went through, waking myself up momentarily.
I do not "blink" in dreams, but I learned my lesson not to close my eyes for anything!

I have become quite interested on the layers of lucidity, and I use them to measure how lucid a dream is. For more information on these layers, click here.

This means that you have a disorder, which disbales you to be in a sleep paralysis (SP) during your sleep.
This is a Chillstep / Drum & Bass song I'm currently working on: Check it out!

Whoa now. It doesn't mean anything like that. Nothing he said points to a possible disorder.

That must be a common disorder then, because people here and I all suffer from this. It's always been my way of backing out of nightmares, closing my eyes and opening them to be awake in my bed.

I'll vote for never closing your eyes in an LD. Never a good eye-dea.

You have no eyes, why blink? Everything started getting blurry in my last LD and I reached my hands up to rub my eyes and close them. I stopped myself in time and stabilized to fix it. Everything became clear again.

My eyes moving seem to be a reminder for me to stabilize.

I also used to either blink very fast or imagine opening my eyes IRL to wake myself up from nightmares.

Telling yourself not to think about your eyes will likely make you think about them even more, the same way saying "Don't think about a purple elephant" will make you picture a purple elephant. Instead of worrying about it too much, shift your attention to something else before the dream deteriorates. Like BrandonBoss said, it would be a good idea to stabilize the dream whenever something like that happens. Just rub your hands together or whatever method works best for you.

Yup, don't focus on your eyes. Just focus on something else and don't even think about it.
